I'm a fan of The Warning, and this band has a really moving story, and they also have a good repertoire of fun songs, ballads, and they also rock, and if they are young talented people, it's nice to hear talents like that.
At that time Maria had only been the lead for about a year. Keep in mind that this song has and video was done less than a year after they had to flee for there lives. The song was recorded by them with the bits of equipment they could take and some that they acquired for free in germany
Thank you for reacting to The Sixsters, its criminal as Dan says that they have only just over 4K subscribers and less than 1000 listens per month on Spotify, but when you understand how their lives have been disrupted so much. A little history of the band, gleamed from the internet including a short TV documentary which Kate has on her YT channel. When Kate was small, talking aged around 2, she was banging anything and everything like drums, so her dad used some of the family savings to buy her a drum kit and set it up in an outhouse in their garden. By aged 6, she had her own YT channel of her playing drum covers (its still there), by age 8 she wanted to be in a Rock Band. As they lived in a small village on the outskirts of Kiev, there were no kids in the area playing music, so her dad advertised for talented kids and in 2018, The Sixsters were born. The girls aged 7 to 12 I believe at the time all lived in or close to Kiev, except for the youngest member, the bassist Taya, who lives close to the Polish border. Their earliest music was written for them, their first YT music was released in 2019 with 6 kids, Kate (drums), Taya (bass), Maya (keyboards), Alona (rhythm guitar), Ira (lead guitar) and Victory (lead singer). Their second video saw two Kira’s join, Kira P played bass instead of Taya and Kira K replaced Victory on lead vocals. Taya was still in the band but I assume distance was a factor, Kira P and Taya shared bass, but Kira appears in most videos, during covid when they all played their parts in their own homes, they had both bass players play. That line up stayed until early 2021, when Maria replaced Alona on rhythm guitar and she also shared some lead vocal time, her first video was their song Fever, their first in English. By this time they were writing their own material. After a couple more very good releases, Ira left and she was replaced by Anna on lead guitar. They have a very good live concert, video and sound, on their YT channel recorded in November 2021 with this line-up, Kate, Taya and Kira P playing half the concert each, Maya, Maria, Anna and Kira K. By this time they had won a competition to support a big Ukrainian Rock Band in a Stadium tour of Ukraine, but in Feb 2022 their Country was invaded and the war started, the girls were all forced apart, Taya stayed in Ukraine, with the rest spread across Europe in Germany, Switzerland and Spain. In June 2022, five of the girls met up in Essen, Germany. Kate, Kira P, Maya, Maria and Anna. Without Kira K, Maria took over lead vocal duties. On the first day they wrote the song Happiness and on the second day recorded it. They have an official 2023 version of this on their YT, if you play this song, play the earlier live version with this line-up. Soon after they released another song Hold, after this Kira P’s family returned to Ukraine, so they recruited Polina on bass and have said Kira P will return as rhythm guitar at some future point. They remained with this line-up (including this video you watched), recording a second album in mainly English (their earlier 1st album was in Ukrainian). Because of school they haven’t played live much, mostly fund-raisers for home, they did play in the UK in summer of 2023, the Glastonbury Festival and Bush Hall (where The Warning played). In September Maya’s family returned to Ukraine forcing them to recruit Sofia to replace her on keyboards. Currently they are and I believe ages, Kate (15), Polina (16), Sofia (unsure), Maria (17) and Anna (just turned 21). They have said they are influenced by bands such as Green Day and The Offfspring, but when you start listening to them, they are all over the place for inspiration, I love all their music, even those songs in Ukrainian. They just released their 3rd Album, mainly English songs. Look forward to more of your reactions to their amazing music.
The Sixsters are Roxstars! As Dan said all over the place musically (in a good way!). Their mvs range from very creative, quirky, and fun to harder rocking to achingly beautiful. I believe Kate (drummer) is the only remaining original member. Maria (lead vocals) also plays rhythm guitar. The German music company Fame Instruments has selected them as endorsers, they have a cool video where they toured the store and were treated like royalty ( and deservedly so!). Thanks for supporting The Sixsters, Ashlena! Look forward to more reactions and yes, if The Sixsters and Freeze the Fall played together that would be incredible! 🙌🔥🤘
As a hardcore The Warning fan, I also find some magic with this band. Like The Warning, I've watched them grow up on RUclips. I'm happy to see reactors starting to take notice. Thanks for this and I'm hoping you dive in deeper! maybe their newest, "FEELS" ruclips.net/video/t3dKGubJVGU/видео.html
@@ashlenamusic Personally I heard more quality in this old song of theirs despite that I don't understand a word. Somehow I still can figure out what it's all about. Fact is, I love so many parts in this song and it stays with me. ruclips.net/video/RuQ4Pj_lMHA/видео.htmlsi=xx58QhwDKoZ2PhWc
Fever, Hold, City, I'm Gonna Be, Happiness, Monday (not a music video), Seem to Dance, this one, Feels, and I Stare at You. None of them like the other. Fever caught me and Hold convinced me. Lots of crossover fans between them and The Warning. However, don't compare them. Maria got really pissed during the holiday live stream when she thought we were comparing them, but it was just fans hoping that they would play together when The Warning will be in Germany (much like the Band Maid / The Warning in Japan).
Once again, I am so happy to see you here Ashlena! I've been a Patreon of The Sixsters for over a year. I support them because of their artistry and the f*cking war. Like Jinjer, it sucks that these talented young people had to leave their home country to be able to continue creating music! Mahalo! #Sixsters #UkraineForever
I hesitate to put this link out there of The Sixsters live, because it is from 2021, before the war, and the lineup has changed, Maria was the rhythm player and backup vocals, but is now the lead singer. They have this song in their current set, and the band is tighter than ever, but there isn't yet a well-mixed live video of them now. This version of Monday (in Ukrainian) does show what a well-mixed The Sixsters show is like, to those who doubt their live performance can match the albums: ruclips.net/video/F13w3j_mOEs/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Based on their appearance in their videos over the years, I am under the impression that they are mostly in the 16-18 year range. Also the keyboard player returned to Ukraine with her family a few months ago and was replaced by another displaced Ukrainian girl. They have a video announcing her departure and another saying goodbye to her.
From what I been able to gather, Maria, the singer, said on their recent album that she's 17. Kate, the drummer is 15 or 16, Anya the lead player is 20 or 21, and Maya on keyboards and Polina on bass are around 15. (I'm using English versions of their names for simplify but may be off, also I might have the keyboard player wrong because she may have left and been replaced.) If I'm wrong about any of this, please correct me--I'm seeing conflicting information in comments on-line.
Just a comment on Maria, the singer. She was apparently a pianist who learned to play rhythm guitar specifically to join the Sixsters when an opening for rhythm guitar in the band came along. There was another lead singer in the band at the time but when Maria joined for the first time another member of the band shared lead and sung lead on a few songs, Maria became the equivalent to Pau if you like. Also they started singing some songs in English. The first video they did when Maria joined was in English and Maria shared lead vocal, its called Fever and well worth watching. She only became main lead singer after the war started, when Kira K never returned to the band in Germany.
@@ashlenamusic Ha, I repeated what was said by someone on another reaction channel, on their latest album, the last track is not a song, its each girl giving a little of their history, there Maria stated she started singing very young and also started playing guitar soon after, so what I wrote about learning to join the band was obviously wrong .. They have just announced on their channel, they will live stream their next video (Same Kid) and answer questions on the 6th anniversary of the band forming, for my time (Mountain time, Calgary) its 10am on the 6th April. Same Kid is the first track on their latest album and a banger :)
Kate Kuziakina (Sixsters drummer and founder of the group) when she was 9, the same year she won the global Hits Like A Girl competition in her age class (8 to 18). Pau was a judge last year. Check out the grin on her face right before she goes into the epic double-bass drum part at the very end. 😀 ruclips.net/video/lDY6LQ9cRS4/видео.htmlfeature=shared
Quality, quality, quality. Stop thinking what a song might be and let it roll. Most of their songs are in english. Their underlaying music is pop punk. Holding back on the vocals is called control. You will find more of what you like in their other songs- be patient.
There's actually a German video of an interview of Polina and her mother, where Polina sings the first part of this song. She sings it exactly the same way, almost just breathing the first few bars, so it is done that way on purpose.
They haven't got that many gigs lined up, but I can recommend seeing them live. I saw them at Glastonbury last year, and they were great - the lead singer is really good. Looking forward to see how they progress over the next few years, and hopefully they'll be able to go back to Ukraine.
If I can make a suggestion, if you do a reaction to Feels, make it a double by watching the VLOG Feels (Backstage) at the same time, see how they make their videos and get a glimpse of their personalities too.
I was thinking of that too, but a lot of it has subtitles because it's in Ukrainian, and those don't show up very well on reactions. 😞 RUclips won't translate it either.
@@DanL---2024 Vast majority is in English though, its only when Kate, Sofia and Polina spoke, not much, most of it is Anna in English and Maria speaks English too.
For fans that don't know. Polina Zagnoi, the bassist, is a beautiful singer and accomplished pianist in her own right. Here is her at 11 covering "Shallow " and 2 years ago at 14 covering Hardkiss: ruclips.net/video/KQAt_22RrRE/видео.htmlfeature=shared ruclips.net/video/omplsdghOuY/видео.htmlfeature=shared
@simonditheridge708 I know! I love her Hardkiss cover, it is haunting and I've listened to it many times. I'd love it if they featured her singing lead sometime. They are about to drop their video for "Same Kid" publicly in two days. It is epic! Anna, the lead player, is a monster. There is so much talent in that band that it's ridiculous. I believe Ashlena will be covering it. So psyched! 😀
This band has a very promising future. Have not listened to this song yet. These girls are just like The Warning, doing whatever type of song they want to do. Certainly check out _Feels_
Yes! Even their really fun wacky video "Seem to Dance" where they wear big inflated "fat suits" is kind of a "f*ck you" to people that want to pigeonhole them. :)
Many thanks to Dan for requesting you to react to The Sixsters. I only support 3 artists on a monthly basis, The Sixsters, Angelina Jordan and The Warning. I also contribute when The Sixsters have a campaign to raise money for children in Ukraine. Their song "Happiness" hits hard. They sing "happiness is foreign". Impossible to fully understand life in a war zone.
I'd heard the name Angelia Jordan before, but seeing you're a Patreon of my two most favorite new bands, I just went and had a look. What an incredible, unique voice! Gorgeous! Thank you for the mention! I'm starting to really get excited about music again.
@@DanL---2024 Thanks for checking her out. Angelina has more than 200 songs on RUclips, including 13 originals. She always performs barefoot to remind her of the less fortunate. She is very humble and remarkably talented. Won Norway's Got Talent at age 8. Opened for Norah Jones in South Korea at age 11. Opened the show for Quincy Jones's 85th birthday celebration at age 12. Performed her version of "Bohemian Rhapsody" on AGT The Champions at age 13 and the members of Queen allowed her to copyright her version. I could go on for days.......still learning about Angelina after 4 years as a angel (fan).
@@DanL---2024 Daneliya was great until age 15 then seemed headed down a bad road but recently she has had a couple good originals. Wishing her all the best. Check out this from Angelina last December. ruclips.net/video/XxduGSjAJCo/видео.htmlsi=XUIsBNXUxGzxz1lP
Thank you for your reaction, Listen to the song “City” where they are much younger than 18 years old) In this composition you will see the influence of the 80-90s. ruclips.net/video/XnBxFfEFC3c/видео.html
I've heard of The Sixsters before, and I checked out a couple of their RUclips posts, and I thought they were pretty good. But for whatever reason I didn't really stick around. They were, as their name implies, originally a six peice and I don't know why they became a five peice. (Well, obviously someone left, but I've no idea why.) But, I'm glad you like the song, and I will be checking some more of The Sixsters. PS I did have a look at their website and - maybe I'm missing something - but there were no band member bios, so as to how old they are???? (I wonder if the abscence of bios is due to the war back home, but that's just pure speculation on my part.) The band was formed in 2018 though. Edited: I thought they were originally a six peice, but I might be wrong.
Originally a six piece. Her place is being held. If I remember correctly, the bassist had to return to Ukraine, and the rhythm guitarist temporarily took over the bass.
First of all if you want something heavier, check out Same Kid, Feels, and City. As for their ages, Maria is 17, Kate is 15, Anna is 21, Polina is 16, and Maya was either 14 or 15. She is no longer with the band as she had to return with her family to Ukraine last September. The new keyboard player is Sofia and I don't know her age but would guess her to be 17 to 19, somewhere in that area. She is in their newest videos, Feels and I Stare at You.
I think she will be doing Feels next. I had originally requested the new Same Kid video, but I really don't think she'd dig it, because of that one minute series of comedy sketches put in the middle. I know a lot of fans like it, but I could only listen to those a couple of times before they got really annoying. I wish they'd put one out that was just them playing, I'd watch it over and over.
I hear you. When Same Kid got interrupted I was like I'm like what the heck is this. I found it annoying and unnecessarily interrupted a really good song. But they do like mixing things up so even though I could have done without it, it's their prerogative to do what they want. I did go back and listened again and it was kind of cute; they were having some fun like in Seem to Dance so whatever.
Yes, but would you go back and watch it 20 more times? If it were just the girls rocking out, I'd easily watch it that many more times. That's why I and some others worried about it, because over the long run you wouldn't get those repeat views. Three reactors to the song so far (April 11), and they just kind of look past the comedy bit and focus on the song, so hopefully there will a lot of good reactions. Regardless, everything they do is quality and there is and will be plenty of things to look at.
Oh, I noticed some folks are spelling it Sixters. It's actually "Sixsters " with an S. I don't want anyone to miss anything by googling the wrong name. It's funny, The Sixsters themselves visited a reactor and corrected him (politely). I was telling Ashlena that probably The Sixsters will see her reaction.
Kate's cover of Nirvana (Breed) she performed that made her a winner of the global Hit Like A Girl competition in 2018 when she was only 9: ruclips.net/video/iSf-C6NJeIY/видео.htmlfeature=shared
"For Us, For Me" is a style they haven't tried before (they're very experimental), and it sounds like they wanted room for Maria's voice to breathe, but yes, they could've thrashed a bit more and earlier and bumped up the volume and presence of bass and rhythm guitar, but there are lots of fans who love it just the way it is. I suppose I should've chosen a different, harder, song for Ashlena's channel. 🤔 Unfortunately, there aren't any recent and decent videos of them live (I imagine having your city invaded by tanks, bombed, and destroyed by missiles might delay things). There is some video from 2021 before the war, but it's got a different lineup, a different vocalist, then now, because their families had to escape to other countries. However, the video does show they have a pretty big sound live (most of their songs are hard)- how could they not when all five are playing their hearts out. They are very tight--they have one of the better drummers on the planet, Kate Kuziakina, after all. (Check out her videos from when she was 9, the year she won in her age group (8 to 18) in the global Hit Like A Girl competition, the same competition Pau was a judge for last year.) They did a little on-line show for their Patreons last year, but Anna, the lead guitarist (she may be the oldest, maybe 19) lives in another city and was not able to attend, and the mix was what you'd expect from an on-line performance. It does show that Maria's voice is great without production tricks. I love her voice now, and I agree with Ashlena that in a couple years her voice will "explode." They are going to play live gigs in Europe this year, and hopefully there will be some good quality video of that. Even if this song isn't your cup of tea, I encourage you to listen to others, since this song is not representative of all their music--they experiment a LOT and each song is unique. If you compare this song with "Feels" you'll start to get an idea of how wildly diverse they are. For a nonstop banger that is full of hooks and shows their harder rock chops, I'd recommend "Same Kid" from their newest album, To Be Continued (yes, very different from everything else I've mentioned). It seems to have a low volume on Spotify, so I'd recommend googling and finding the RUclips of "Same Kid" (no video, but it is loud). Ashlena talked about ballads; they have several beautiful ones, "I Stare At You" and "Hold" being two of them. "Hold" is the kind of stripped down acoustic song Ashlena was talking about. "Run With The Wolves" is another softer song, in Ukrainian, dedicated to the founder of a rock music school who was killed while fighting the Russian invasion. The bass line in this is great. The video is a little hard to find because it's titled in Ukrainian. But Cheezyxyz just reacted to that and "Feels" in a two for one reaction very recently, and you can find a link there. Then there's "City," where one fan heard elements of The Runaways, Rage Against The Machine, and Linkin Park; it uses turntablism (the screechy sound when a record turntable is manipulated, like in old rap--and yes it's a real word), and rocks pretty hard. And then there's video "Happiness," which might break your heart. Can you tell I really love this band? 😀 I think there is something very special about them.
Anna missed that live stream because she was with family in Switzerland at that time, she turned 21 in January. They did a live stream at Xmas with all 5 current members, its in the live section of their YT channel, they played lots of old songs plus unreleased songs at that time from their 3rd album, including Feels, also some destined for a 4th album, our new new album as Polina states. They did some fun stuff like Polina and Kate switching instruments and Maria was upset by comparisons with the Warning lol. They say their concert planned for June will have some surprises, fingers crossed it will include the return of Kira!!
@jensputzlocher8345 I found that video, I think, but I can't speak German. Is it the one with her mother, too, and where she sings the first few bars of For Us, For Me? I put a couple of links in the comments, of Polina singing in other contexts. She's got a beautiful voice and plays piano, too.
Honestly this is NOT the song I would have started you with. 'Seem to Dance' (Punk-ish vibes) ruclips.net/video/QM1_TVK2qZ8/видео.html or 'I'm Gonna Be' ruclips.net/video/GZaImr2WyII/видео.html an yes these are music videos but they make the best videos...very wacky and super interesting. Note, they've also had many line-up changes. I believe the singer/bassist and the drummer are the only remaining original members. They started from 10-16yrs.
I requested this one because I thought it would appeal to fans of ballads and hard rock both, because Maria's voice in this is particularly beautiful, because it has a gorgeous appearance, and because it was the song that blew me away and made me an instant fan. I've never seen this many views or comments about The Sixsters in such a short time with any other reactor, so hopefully I did something right. :) I just became a subscriber to your channel last week, Tee, when I saw you reacted to SO MANY Sixsters songs. Part of why they will succeed is because of longtime dedicated supporters like you. :)
Hey Ashlena. Would you check out the band called ( Leave those kids alone). They play 80s cover songs. I want you to check out the guitar player. He is bad ass!
No Dying Allowed!!!!! ... ... ... I mean it isn't as if you haven't seen bands with teenage girls in them before. cough *The Warning, Freeze The Fall* cough So you know such a thing exists. Having said that I think they were going for a "glamorous musical" style for this video, so they all have model perfect makeup and hair to go with the gowns, which would certainly make them look older. I mean Ale was 16 when the Error album came out but she doesn't look 16 because she is made up in the music videos. Although in her case the fact that she is taller than her sisters helps. I had first encountered The Sixsters over the Pandemic, and I thought they were interesting, but wasn't actually following them closely. Then the invasion happened, and I completely lost track of them until I saw another reactor do a reaction to their song Feels. It was good to see they had found one another again, and were making music. In regards to information there used to be more regarding the group on their You Tube channel. I don't know if it was taken down due to line up changes, the war, or creeps on the internet, or a combination thereof. The channel does say "NOTE: This account and channel are owned and monitored by parents of the band members" so the scarcity of information may have to do with privacy or safety concerns. In regards to the actual song I enjoyed it. The singer has an interesting voice, and demonstrates some range, though as you noted there are times it seems she could have pushed it further. The instrumentation is good, and the song has an interesting structure. They do have a lot of variety in their music with Feels having a punky/funky vibe, and Happiness being ... a bit angry in a low key determined way. They have talent. They are young, have room to grow, have been through a lot, and if they can keep it together, which they seem determined to do, have a lot of potential. A group to look into further, and keep an eye on.
@@DanL---2024 I hadn't noticed that. Having watched the video again you never see the feet of the drummer, because of her drums, or the lead singer, because her dress completely covers her feet. The pianist's dress partially covers her one foot that you occasionally see, and it looks more like a sneaker than a dressy shoe. The bassist's right foot is generally covered by her dress, but the left has a sneaker on it. The guitarist is the only band member whose dress is cut in a way that you would see both feet, and it looks as they put red bows, or possible just wrapped red cloth around her ankles to kind of disguise her sneakers. My guess is that they either couldn't find shoes in their sizes, or just as likely, decided that comfort was more important than perfectly matching footwear.
Funny you ention dress like prom ... I totaly had thie picture on my minde of the groupe of ''rock-head'' in school who usualy look almost grung but dress-up for the prom night... am I doing a movie?? loll I hope you'll watch more from them 🙂
Ashlena, off topic (sorry), but wanted share this with you, and you’re most likely to see it in the most recent post … you don’t need to react to this, but you’ll want to see it, this interview in which Aurora is talking about the new album, What Happened To the Heart?, it’s themes, and it’s “instigation.” You’ve been remarking how the sound of these first three don’t seem like her to you, and she talks about how she’s exploring new things, as well how she’s intentionally (because her real fans love variety of sound) has released them first because they don’t sound like the rest of the album. It’s a really good interview, for many reasons, mostly for her being her. ruclips.net/video/A6x1DdMqxdk/видео.htmlsi=scojBh3pae3DPvvN
They should have built it up, layered it, crescendo to f , and backed it down, started building it up again and a full ff with the guitar solo. It was to soft for to long. I did like it though.
Actually, you erroneously used "to" in your sentence: "It was to soft for to long." "To" is a preposition, like "at" or "on," and is not correct. The correct word is "too," which is an adverb, such as "excessively." I liked your comment though.
LiliWACK , corny band , straight cheeks , and Sam is so fruity , the keyboardist mines playing . They are a cover band their orginals are mediocre at best . The lead singer melody sings every song exactly the same , she never switches up styles , hoarse voice gets repetitive and old real quick
I feel like that song needed more time more devolping , feels like the root to a good song but not worked through and really fully developed, the lead runs while nice was a lil excessive for this song , felt like a lil look at me more than serving the song , and it was over sung from the bridge on for the music composition, song just need more time to be perfected before calling it a finished song
Well, he did take the time to listen and think about it and write about it. I've seen similar comments about The Warning songs from TWA, then see them comment later that they've changed their minds and now love the song. I'm pretty sure that if he listens to more of their music he'll find something he likes, I mean, there's tons of awesome harder songs and different genres.
Thank youuuuu!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Ahhhhhh thank you for watching!!!!
Bows to the rock queen's! 🏆🤭❤️
Man, i love this song, i heard of them because of the Warning, and wow, they're really good.
Thanks for the video. Another band of highly talented youngsters.🤘👌
Yes they are!
I'm glad you finally got to experience the Sixsters. Hope you do more from them.
That's the plan!
I'm a fan of The Warning, and this band has a really moving story, and they also have a good repertoire of fun songs, ballads, and they also rock, and if they are young talented people, it's nice to hear talents like that.
The Warning Army has some good tastes in music, and they're (we're) DEFINITELY not wrong about this band.
More Sixsters please! I think you'll love "Feels"
Yes the piano rocks. Love the Sixsters.
Thank you for reacting to The Sixsters

Fingers crossed we can play with these talented ladies someday!! So good. ❄️❄️❄️
That would be awesome!!!
FTF, #1, good for you for supporting another great young band! 🙌 and #2, I just put the ER on speed dial in case that ever happens!🤘🚑😁
“Feels” is epic.
First time hearing The Sixters. I liked it and would like to see more of them. Great reaction. 👍😎
Amazing!!
It's actually "Sixsters" with an S, wouldn't want you to Google the wrong name :)
Nice! I'll def listen to more of this! So young!!! Potential abounds!
I like this! Thanks for educating me.
Thanks for all this info it’s much appreciated!!
There are videos of them going to Blink 182, getting to see Judas Priest, and Uriah Heep visited their studio, so those are other influences.
This band is incredible.
Wow! Thanks for that! Very tight band
Checking out more of their stuff right now 😊
Enjoy your journey! 😃
Oh, you've found a treat.
Up next, I'd recommend Feels.
I definitely will!
The are good, also new to me, i am ready to see where they go.❤
Enjoy the journey! 😀
Welcome back Ashlena! I actually like this song. Thanks for the introduction.
Great reaction. Suggestion (Feels)🤘🏿
holy crap ash, you are a grate reactor but your brakedown of this song is so spot on, loved it..
Awww thank you 🥹
Subscribed for The SiXsters.

Excellent song heard it before
Subscribed ,as a thanks for promoting my favourite group ! 💓❤️

That’s amazing that you’re supporting them xx
Nice comment from Freeze The Fall band below. Yes, a double bill concert with Freeze The Fall and The Sixsters would be epic!! 😃
That would be cool!
This version of Monday (in Ukrainian) does show what a well-mixed The Sixsters show is like, to those who doubt their live performance can match the albums:
ruclips.net/video/F13w3j_mOEs/видео.htmlfeature=shared
That’s amazing

It would be fun to see--they have such great personalities 😀
For fans that don't know. Polina Zagnoi, the bassist, is a beautiful singer and accomplished pianist in her own right. Here is her at 11 covering "Shallow " and 2 years ago at 14 covering Hardkiss:

@simonditheridge708 I know! I love her Hardkiss cover, it is haunting and I've listened to it many times. I'd love it if they featured her singing lead sometime. They are about to drop their video for "Same Kid" publicly in two days. It is epic! Anna, the lead player, is a monster. There is so much talent in that band that it's ridiculous. I believe Ashlena will be covering it. So psyched! 😀
By the name I was thinking this was an old R&R band. I was wrong. Liked them.
Nice!
This band has a very promising future. Have not listened to this song yet. These girls are just like The Warning, doing whatever type of song they want to do. Certainly check out _Feels_
"Feels" is a MUST listen!
Yes! Even their really fun wacky video "Seem to Dance" where they wear big inflated "fat suits" is kind of a "f*ck you" to people that want to pigeonhole them. :)
Their average age is 17 -- old members left, new members joined, so it raised their average age.
For an amazing contrast, watch/listen to "Seems to Dance" by the Sixsters -- a whole different side!
That’s so amazing of you!

I've heard of The Sixsters before, and I checked out a couple of their RUclips posts, and I thought they were pretty good. But for whatever reason I didn't really stick around. They were, as their name implies, originally a six peice and I don't know why they became a five peice. (Well, obviously someone left, but I've no idea why.)
But, I'm glad you like the song, and I will be checking some more of The Sixsters.
No clue how old they are lol
@@RussInCanada Thanks for that info.
15 to 21
@@jensputzlocher8345 Thanks for that information.
That would be so cool! Glad I got their name right lol
Kate's cover of Nirvana (Breed) she performed that made her a winner of the global Hit Like A Girl competition in 2018 when she was only 9:
ruclips.net/video/iSf-C6NJeIY/видео.htmlfeature=shared
"For Us, For Me" is a style they haven't tried before (they're very experimental), and it sounds like they wanted room for Maria's voice to breathe, but yes, they could've thrashed a bit more and earlier and bumped up the volume and presence of bass and rhythm guitar, but there are lots of fans who love it just the way it is. I suppose I should've chosen a different, harder, song for Ashlena's channel. 🤔
Unfortunately, there aren't any recent and decent videos of them live (I imagine having your city invaded by tanks, bombed, and destroyed by missiles might delay things).
(Check out her videos from when she was 9, the year she won in her age group (8 to 18) in the global Hit Like A Girl competition, the same competition Pau was a judge for last year.)
They did a little on-line show for their Patreons last year, but Anna, the lead guitarist (she may be the oldest, maybe 19) lives in another city and was not able to attend, and the mix was what you'd expect from an on-line performance. It does show that Maria's voice is great without production tricks. I love her voice now, and I agree with Ashlena that in a couple years her voice will "explode."
They are going to play live gigs in Europe this year, and hopefully there will be some good quality video of that.
Awesome! I didn't know about that one, thanks! Do you know their ages?
@@DanL---2024 Not 100% but believe Kate (15), Polina (15 or 16), Maria (17), Anna (21), no idea with Sofia, someone said 17or 18.
Polina was 16 in Winter 23/24 , when the regional German tv-station NDR portraied her.
I just became a subscriber to your channel last week, Tee, when I saw you reacted to SO MANY Sixsters songs. Part of why they will succeed is because of longtime dedicated supporters like you. :)
The drummer and keys were 14 and singer 17
Some get to flee to Germany, some just starve if they live long enough to 😢 #WorldEqualityNow!
It's funny, if you look at the thumbnail and the video closely you'll see that they're mostly wearing tennis shoes with their fancy gowns. 😄
Or they didn't have the money for fancy dress shoes. 😢
Funny you ention dress like prom ... I totaly had thie picture on my minde of the groupe of ''rock-head'' in school who usualy look almost grung but dress-up for the prom night... am I doing a movie?? loll I hope you'll watch more from them 🙂

I like them, but they are not there yet, but the talent is there and they will get there if they press on
Ashlena, off topic (sorry), but wanted share this with you, and you’re most likely to see it in the most recent post … you don’t need to react to this, but you’ll want to see it, this interview in which Aurora is talking about the new album, What Happened To the Heart?, it’s themes, and it’s “instigation.” You’ve been remarking how the sound of these first three don’t seem like her to you, and she talks about how she’s exploring new things, as well how she’s intentionally (because her real fans love variety of sound) has released them first because they don’t sound like the rest of the album. It’s a really good interview, for many reasons, mostly for her being her.

I just discovered bad omen.. wow
Wow, I looked at the video "Just Pretend" after reading your comment and just about bawled. Thanks for mentioning Bad Omens!
So glad you enjoy them!!
Sorry, that was petty. It's a common mistake. I'm an attorney, so I'm supposed to know these things. :)
@@DanL---2024 Thanks Professor. Really good information.
Why don't you pull a move like Cheezyxyz and pass this band to your fellow reactors. That will give them the exposure they deserve.
I’ll let them know!
You just wait a few years... I don't think you are equally fair in your judgement since they are all barely just more than teenagers now...
Yeah I was unaware how old they were
You loved Liliac Liliac reached out to you, but I don’t see any more. Liliac covers.
LiliWACK , corny band , straight cheeks , and Sam is so fruity , the keyboardist mines playing . They are a cover band their orginals are mediocre at best . The lead singer melody sings every song exactly the same , she never switches up styles , hoarse voice gets repetitive and old real quick
I’ll get around to it
I feel like that song needed more time more devolping , feels like the root to a good song but not worked through and really fully developed, the lead runs while nice was a lil excessive for this song , felt like a lil look at me more than serving the song , and it was over sung from the bridge on for the music composition, song just need more time to be perfected before calling it a finished song
You should start your own channel and post your wisdom there, and only there.
