Peace in the family takes precedence when family treats YOU like family. If what op says is represented accurately, your family doesn’t care about you. They see you as a burden. If they believed in you they would have invested in you like your sister. Take the money like peepaw wanted, and let them burn their own bridge with the greater family.
OP shouldn't trust Amy or their mother. Men bully with aggression. Women bully with tears. This isn't 100% by any means but is typical. Amy and Mom are playing a long con.
Not that I believe the story anyway, but for the sake of argument lets say its true. I don't think any resentment should be held towards Amy, there was nothing in there that showed that she was ever advocating for this kind of behavior and her explanation for not speaking up would have been completely acceptable. watching your parents treat your sibling like a cast away while you aren't really able to do anything for fear you might end up being basically disowned by your parents as well cant exactly be a good childhood no matter how much material gain you get from it. the mom is a whole other story but you're talking about a kid who literally didn't know any better and still confined with OP before the mother even did and finally faced her parents regardless by the time she was of age to know better, I see nothing wrong there. Its easy to view a person like that as the bad guy but she was thrown into that position by the only two people she could trust from birth.
It is possible, but some other things make me think they just wanted a doll to dress up and control, with the younger sister being cuter so a "better fit".
I am so happy this family scape goat finally stood its ground. NEVER choose such toxic treatment over yourself. Your father is a textbook example of a narcissist. Don’t let your love be weaponized against you. THEY are guilty. Not you.

Take it from personal experience, no matter what you do, you will never, ever be enough in your 'donors' (i call them this because that is the minimum effort they put in to be loving parents) eyes as your sister. It may be hard, but you will be far better off pursuing your own dreams than trying to meet theirs.
If you didn't earn it why would you expect others to give it to you. They can give it to whoever they want. They earned it and it's theirs to do what they want
OP deserves to have his inheritance. He should have called out his parents for the extremely blatant favoritism to anyone that is on his parents' side.
