As more than being just the full moon time to cleanse my crystals and do spell work 😉 I plan to do a proper ritual with ale & cakes after and my second attempt at drawing down the moon 🌝 I’d love more in depth videos on esbats and if you’re interested in checking it out I just posted a video on my Lammas ritual 😊

When looking over the docs for this video it seems like there's a few sabbats missing from the breakdown chart, Imbolc and Ostara. Super appreciate the video though, thank you for taking the time to make these. :)
I have always felt a connection with the dark god, but I have never heard anyone else speak on his role. It has always seemed to be just the triple goddess and the god. I really appreciate this video in that aspect. Thank you. Makes me feel less crazy.
Maybe this is an arrogant question, but i genuinly want to know to understand witchcraft and its history. How did witches find out the magickal properties? Where did the information come from that this phase of the moon means this, or this herb has these properties, or this crystal enhances these things? I have seen a lot of places stating this thing means this and this is how you can use it, but not why we know it to be true. I have only just started my journey so I appreciate any guidance you may be able to give me. Thank you kindly.
No one knows the history of magickal properties. A lot of information is passed down through oral history because writing things down could get you charged with heresy and witchcraft. Many correspondences are based on a witch’s personal experience with that item. It’s all about actually observing and feeling that energy. For instance blue chalcedony is usually cited as a good stone for balance, grounding, getting rid of negative energy and good will. In my personal experience with blue chalcedony is more aligned toward connecting with the divine and enhancing my psychic abilities. There are stones like aquamarine drives me nuts and makes me angry...I just don’t vibe with it at all. Being a witch is a personal journey and developing your own meanings and correspondences. Covens usually kept their BOS secret, many were “encrypted “ through the use of different alphabets and symbols known only to the coven or witch. The beauty of being a witch is using your intuition, connecting with the different energies and not over analyzing. I know that’s a big non-answer and won’t satisfy a modern logical mind. I know it drove me nuts as a kid when I asked my mom why we plant certain things on the full moon and you reap in a waning moon and the answer was that’s just the way we do it. I hope this helps. @@TheWitchesCauldron Thank you so much for your reply. It does make sense. A lot of things we learn that are non witchcraft related are passed down orally too. Many cultures exist that way. I think then the best way for me to become more comfortable in my understanding would be to strengthen my intuition and to be more trusting of how things feel. I am still in that baby stage of I do believe but at times my mind wants a clear cut logical answer, some things are just not so and the divine works in mysterious ways! Esbats are related to the moon cycles. Your esbat rituals can be dark moon, full moon, new moon, waxing or waning moons. The full moons, new moons and dark moons can have more than one per month. The full moons have specific names tied to them (e.g. blood moon, corn moon, hunter’s moon, etc.). You can have several type of esbat rituals over the course of a month (though I don’t really recommend that). What I do is just take a look at what’s going on in my life and then tap into the energies associated with a particular moon phase to help address a particular situation. I hope this makes sense. I’m still confused.. so esbats are the moon phases both new and full moon? Does that mean there’s 24 of them in a year two moon phases per month?
