haha honestly i was thinking ben kingsly probably would've been better for this role than kenny b. kenny's too cheerful to play a retired will shakespeare as well as ben kingsly's gravitas.
He's produced the films, he's directed the films, now Kenneth Branagh takes on his greatest challenge ever; Branagh playing Ben Kingsley playing William Shakespeare! You'll gasp at the costumes, cry at the emotional bits (involving Judy Dench), enjoy Ian McKellen in whatever role he's playing and wonder why 17th century English sounds exactly the same as today's vernacular and why everyone seems so refreshingly modern in their attitudes (apart from the ornate romper outfits and amazing hats). You'll leave the cinema exclaiming 'why, they were just like our modern secular selves!' Hint: they weren't.
Its the final, coveted evolution for Shakespearian actors. If they do it long enough and well enough they just *become* the bard. Kenneth Branagh just looks like that now, all the time
Oh good heavens YES! Brannagh back to his Shakespearian roots and with a fantastic cast. I have not heard about it before, but this is now my most anticipated movie of 2019.
@반짝 반짝 Hardly all he can do. In fact, it's been quite a while since he did Shakespeare. Murder on the Orien Express, directed by him, did very well in the box office just last year and will have sequel soon enough. His Cinderella for Disney also did well, he directed the first Thor (we wouldn't have Tom Hiddleston as Loki without him) and before that he made probably the best big screen adaptation of Frankenstein. I also loved his Dead Again thriller and the wonderful dramedy Peter's Friends. And of course he's making the Artemis Fowl film also coming out next year. So yeah, Shakespear is what he excells at and how he first got big, but he's hardly a one trick pony.
@반짝 반짝 I was talking about his work as director. Acting roles would be too numerous to mention. Anyway, say what you will about Wild Wild West, Branagh's role in that was fantastic. It's one of those "great actor goes totaly over the top" roles that make some movies superbly entertaining. On the other hand, he played a truly, no-joke great villain as Iago in Othello.
I cannot wait for this. Brannagh is *the* man in cinema when it comes to Shakespeare, and Judi Dench is every bit as much a part of the Shakespearian cinematic legacy.
Kenneth Branagh is amazing, he always surpasses himself, if we did not know, we would not recognize him, he is the perfect Shakespeare! I canot wait to see it.
Stephanie Baker 😂 Yeah, I hear you. 😬I actually was trying to just save it to a playlist & it started up for me on its own. Then convinced me why I should keep watching.
Annoying how all the comments are not about the movie but how certain characters are going to be in the movie. THANKS for the info on whether I should watch this -_- ffs, those comments having no bearing on this trailer or film...
Correct me if im wrong but , having watched pride and prejudice (2005) so many MANY times ... i think i just spotted the Bennet house and the same church =D thats amazing
Order of Merlin, Third Class, honorary member of the Dark Force Defense League, and five times winner of Witch Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award. But I don't talk about that. I didn't get rid of the Bandon Banshee by smiling at him.
ben kingsley is such a genius that he can play kenneth branagh playing shakespeare perfectly
i'm crying
At first, I panicked. But then, I handled it. It's complicated.
I just laughed loud enough to wake the cat up.
Ha! He fooled you. That was Derek Jacobi playing Ben Kingsley playing Kenneth Branagh playing Shakespeare.
Ha! He fooled you. That was Derek Jacobi playing Ben Kingsley playing Kenneth Branagh playing Shakespeare.
Kenneth Branagh's entire career has been leading up to this. This is the singularity.
Who is he? What movies had he made? Looks promising
@@BonfirePlease He's Gilderoy Lockhart
Even wild wild west
@@BonfirePlease not to mention he directed this little-known film called Thor.
Branagh playing Ben Kingsley playing Shakespeare. I’m in ! 👍🏻
That's exactly what I thought too.... doppelgangers abound !!😅
You literally read my mind! Lol
Kenneth as Ben as Billy Shakespeare! They should've saved money by getting Ben.
haha honestly i was thinking ben kingsly probably would've been better for this role than kenny b. kenny's too cheerful to play a retired will shakespeare as well as ben kingsly's gravitas.
Thought that was Kingsley...then saw a certain lookalike with Ken resembeling so much to Ben....That s hilarious! Terrific! Kenben Shakespeare!

I too thought to myself "Is that Ben Kingsley?".=)))
I know, it’s weird - why does Ben Kingsley have Kenneth Branagh’s voice. And isn’t Dame Judy old enough to be his mum?
Rose S Well she's 84 and he's 58... so yeah.
I totally agree, something does not seem right!..
It is the comfort of simulation without revelation. 'This is the world, there is no other.'
It finally happened! Branagh became Shakespeare.
Everything has led up to this
He just woke up one day and POP there he was.
...his greatest dream came true.
I believe he's already played Shakespeare in the Blackadder Millennium special
@@KountKristyl No that was Colin Firth, although Blackadder did mention Branagh
After being in many Shakespeare adaptations, Kenneth Branagh is back.........................as Shakespeare.
Its the final, coveted evolution for Shakespearian actors. If they do it long enough and well enough they just *become* the bard. Kenneth Branagh just looks like that now, all the time
Let's not forget that Judi Dench was Queeen Elizabeth in Shakespeare in love and now his wife. :D I mean... there were some rumours. haha
After all those Shakespeare adaptation Kennet Branagh finally became... Ben Kingsley
Ikr
that is exactly who I thought was the star
Oh my god... this is the funniest comment.
Shit I thought "fuck Ben Kingsley is looking young... and more hairy"
A rose by another name ....

Came looking for this comment.
Right?
Yep...absolutelly
hahaha I thought the same, XD
For one second I thought it was Ben Kingsley too lol
Sir Ian McKellen looks like Rene Descartes
why can't we have THAT movie??
Now THAT would make an awesome movie..
From the thumbnail for this trailer, I thought it was going to be Ian McKellen playing Cyrano de Bergerac.
@@euansmith3699 I thought it may be a new Munchhausen adaption.

Kenneth Branagh? Shakespeare? Take my money now.
Wow, wow.....stunning. Great role for Judi Dench too
Does anyone else think that Kenneth Branagh looks and sounds just like Ben Kingsley in this movie???
YES
I had to double check, I was so sure it was Kingsley
Yes, agree.
Yeah
Looks, but doesn't sound, in my opinion.
I cannot wait for this. Brannagh is *the* man in cinema when it comes to Shakespeare, and Judi Dench is every bit as much a part of the Shakespearian cinematic legacy.

Kenneth Branagh is finally just going to play Shakespeare himself. LOL!!
Cut out the middle man!
Kenneth Branagh playing Ralph Fiennes playing Ben Kingsley playing Shakespeare?? The role(s) of a lifetime.
My thoughts exactly
Wow - Brannagh, Sir Ian and Dame Judy - a must see for these three alone!
Kenneth Branagh as Shakespeare looks like Ben Kingsley with a weird wig on.
This looks good. This guy Brannagh should make more Shakespeare movies.
Hahaha lol :D i'd Love to See richard 3 though
I'm not sure he's experienced enough
In retrospect, I can’t believe they didn’t make this yearrrrrrrrrs ago.
Can't wait for this movie. Kenneth Branagh playing Shakespeare, he really likes Shakespeare.
ah yes, my favourite actor Benneth Kingsnagh.
Until Anne Hathaway plays Anne Hathaway, I'm having none of this!
The role she was born to play....
She sorta did in Oceans 8
@@mu2thehotness too much a diva
😅😅😂
if Anne Hathaway in these classics it would look really weird... she’s awkward in many movies too anyway other than she’s cute looking

Can’t wait for more Shakespeare! One of the world’s greatest playwrights!
Best Supporting Actor for Ben Kingsley's nose.
Kenneth Branagh in this looks the spitting image of Ben Kingsley in this.
Branagh directing, Ben Kingston acting! it's a masterypiece!
The role Brannagh was born to play. I cannot wait to see this!
Branagh the great! And now is the greatest playwriter of all times. It' incredible!
from Hamlet to Shakespeare, Kenneth has finally peaked. that's awesome.
And going through Laurence Olivier, don't forget it.
Kenneth Branagh doing a biopic on William Shakespeare .... Kinda surprised this took as long as it did.
I can't wait to see this!! The cast is amazing!! I have always been a huge admirer of these actors!!
Perfect casting...Just who else could play him 💘
Judi Dench!! She plays Queen Victoria in Victoria and Abdul and she does it well! My favorite movie with Dench in it!
Between this and "The Favourite", I'm cinematically 'set' for the winter season. ❄👑❄
He looks so different and convincing. I smell an Oscar nomination. My favorite director/actor.
Kenneth Branagh is so underrated.
Happy birthday to Kenneth Branagh and may you keep doing what you do best. Always looking forward to your next project.
Such a diverse and great actor.
WOW. THIS one looks great. So classy, incredibly inspiring. Thanks all who took part in its making!! Cant wait to see it!
This looks like such a good performance from Judi... perhaps a second Oscar for her!
Branagh does Shakespeare (again) with his usual collection of Lovies!

La voz de Ian Mckellen es BRUTAL!!!!!
Having run out of Shakespeare's writings to adapt, Branagh finally had to resort to just adapting Shakespeare himself.
Hoping this is as wonderful as it looks.
Shakespeare saying, "Cheerio" should be the spirit animal of every English teacher ever.
I love Kenneth 😍😍😍😍
I absolutely cannot wait for this movie.
And the master of Shakespearean dramas becomes Shakespeare himself! Beautiful.
Looks great. Definitely heading to the cinema. First film truly worth seeing in years. Well done!
With the high forehead and the nose, Branaugh looks like Ben Kingsley.
Finally a decent normal real story to tell! I’m so over these damn sci fi bs🤨

Kenneth Branagh is an amazing actor/director but Shakespeare is Edward de Vere and that is TRUE
Thought that was Captain Barbossa in the thumbnail. 😆
Branagh is unrecognizable 😮
This looks really good! But I hope someday they’ll do a Shakespeare movie with original pronunciation.
kenneth branagh should get the best actor oscar for acting as ben kingsley acting as shakespeare.
Prithee do tell, where doth thou venture cross garthered young hobbit? 😁

"Ah, that guy in Wild Wild West" is probably not something Kenneth Branagh wants to hear, but I'm a random asshole on the internet so here it is.
You mean the director of Thor 2?
Yes please. I’m here for all that this is!
Ken Branagh looks like the identical twin of the Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull !!!!

All these Kenneth looking like Ben Kingsley comments are giving me life
Kenneth Branagh was really good in murder on the orient express. I can't wait to see this new film!!
The best novel about Shakespeare has to be "Ruled Britannia" by Harry Turtledove where the Armada won and Shakespeare is involved in the resistance.
Yes yes yes a thousand times yes!
I'm a simple person - I see Ian McKellen and I click
And every English teacher just wet their pants...
Kenneth Branagh+Shakespeare=yes please
