The thing is, it is really rare for regular everyday people to even notice fashion trends unless you live in a big city, so its really a different reality once you actually go and step into the real world, and leave the tiktok algorithms behind

Comparing fashion online vs in the streets … it’s a different universe. I have seen like 2 sambas in 2023. but still I‘m more than sick of the silhouette because of online trend hoppers. Im distancing my self more and more from fashion content.
Wanted to thank everyone who supports the channel! Living in Maine, it’s not easy to talk about fashion with a lot of people so I really enjoy reading through your comments. Working on a video I don’t think anyone’s expecting, but should be a ton of fun!
Also it heavily depends where you live. Here in Southern California (OC/LA Area) you definitely see more of these online trends surface. I see people in the comments saying they haven’t actually seen many Sambas in the wild, but here its the complete opposite. Ass the year goes on I see the Samba replacing past “trendy” shoes like the 550 and Club C. The only shoe most regular people are still wearing to look “fashiony” is the Dunk to an extent.
because its not clones. the style isnt popular at all in the real world. its just popular in the fasion niche. theres people who never knew this style existed
@@chops_chops the point of the video was more so trying to explain how trends have taken more of a bad wrap then dressing according to the social algorithms. I honestly like most of the items that have become “trends”
You'll get called "weird" for trying to be unique or get called an "NPC" because you don't want be called weird for wearing something unique there's not much winning with some people
I always find you thoughtful, to be honest I don't always understand the words you use. When I have money, I go thrifting, I love it, I have tons of clothes that fit me, and look good on me, I rarely care about brands, since whatever comes to thrift store is pretty random. Keep talking.
When the haute couture fashion houses started coming out with super expensive versions of pieces that would've been deemed as low class or gangster by the upper crust thirty years ago that's what led to all these rich kids who are trying just a little bit too hard to be down. Instead just buy the workwear / street wear that has been here for 100+ years such as Levis, Dickies, Cartharrt, Ben Davis etc. Maybe Champion or Russell Athletic if you're into athlesiure .
yeah you most def are chronically online but i see where you are coming from ive only seen like 4 pairs of unironically worn jorts outside and same for sambas its ok to fit a genre of clothing but as of recently its less abt the brands in some circumstances and more abt the types of clothing.
Where I live, it would be an actual joy to see any of "npc" fits in the video (exceptions being the stussy 8ball Carhartt abusers) although I concede that most of these people are just seeking instant gratitude, but I would rather that than people wearing tech fleeces etc ALL THE TIME
I will say, it's one thing to take a bits and pieces of a trend and incorporate it into your style. There's another thing of having your style be what's hot, like you have no personality other then this is hot and is worth money. It's like when people only wanna wear shoes that only have value or state not to buy a shoe because it won't have value. Who cares buy the shoe if you wanna wear it not if it's hot. Sure if it's cheaper on a secondary market 100% agree save the money but still. Wear the clothes you wanna wear not letting the clothes wear you.
Sambas as super uncomfortable. You’re better off buying the same exact pair of Adidas superstars and still look effortless. Also, when will Pumas have a Renaissance?
I definitely agree comfort wise on choosing superstars over sambas. Puma just needs the right collab to shift peoples attention to the brand. Clearly people are okay with moving away from just Nike/Adidas so there’s a good chance they get more love
I remember when people hated on dunks for being "poor man's jordans" and you'd find them at outlet stores. then suddenly everyone HAD to have them and it was "I've always loved this shoe!" People really aren't thinking for themselves.

Yeah an entire video on how location plays a role in fashion would be good
@@WhatsTheHype.Landon it would be, keep up the good work bro!

On the Samba note, come to Manhattan. You see 10 pair on a single block.

Definitely, I still see sambas often in Maine. Not really whole fits catering to the trending algorithm stuff tho
Yes! JQ is genuinely so helpful, if it wasn't for him I think I would be decked out in full fast fashion fits lmao.
Whilst fashion clones exist. I don't rlly see any in real life
on bro i go to school with 2000 other kids and i haven’t seen one samba

You see them in big cities a lot. I live pretty far away from them so where I live everyone is still wearing Jordans and 550s
You'll get called "weird" for trying to be unique or get called an "NPC" because you don't want be called weird for wearing something unique there's not much winning with some people
People suck

That’s sick! I’m going on a road-trip tomorrow and am hoping to find some thrift finds
You left out the New Balances, bro. It's a pandemic.
At least in washington d.c
Didn't know you're a sleeper build
😂it’s been a Rich Piana arm day/Tom Platz leg day typa summer

Thank you, means a lot! I use the Rode VideoMic Go 2. All of my gear is sorted on my Amazon storefront
those simpson stan smiths still go hard to me tho haha great work as usual
Thanks bro! I really like the Bart Simpson Dunks

Bruh u got me so nostalgic in the first part fr
#neverforget
Say what you want but I feel mad cozy in Essentials
Not trippin is the goat
Not Tripping speaks facts though. Calling out the BS in sneaker community that we all know is there but aren’t speaking out and saying it
lmao i feel like i got called out with the 4 horsemen footwear since i own 3 of them and want to own an onitsuka soon
Lol, which colorway do you like?

Dressing for Ice Spice
I think in a way you likely have to be a bit of an NPC at some point, because you have to get some essential pieces before diving in (usually).

I love my stussy shirts and dunks too much to care about being called an npc atp
i think you mention panda dunks atleast 1 time in every video lol
me in 10th grade starting to skate to be able to have an excuse to dress like a skater and now me getting into hiking to use the arcteryx drip
Honestly it’s pretty cool that clothing can introduce new interests like those. Been wearing so much vintage military, I might have to enlist🫡
bro looking swole
I love exercising, lot of basketball and calisthenics this summer!
now i can’t wear football tshirts bc of tik tok
Nah jerseys are still really cool. Just saw a good article on all of Palace’s jerseys from street night live👍
Two things can be true at the same time bro
bro why you dissing loafers tho they are still lowkey enough 😭
Nah I like loafers😂I’ve had my eyes on the duke + dexter x playboy pairs for a while
👍 *Promo sm*
Yeezys😍😍🔥🔥
Talk about uk fashion? Btw take off ur hat more u have nice hair
Yeah I’d be interested too, but don’t know tons about their scene outside of the big streetwear stuff. Would you recommend someone who already does?
I remember when people hated on dunks for being "poor man's jordans" and you'd find them at outlet stores. then suddenly everyone HAD to have them and it was "I've always loved this shoe!" People really aren't thinking for themselves.
And now they’ve gone back to being “played out”
