  • The Black Adoption Project webinar on Improving experiences for Black children and families through workforce diversity is an exciting opportunity to hear about the recruitment of adoption staff who truly represent and support Black children and their families. Charmaine Miller, the newly appointed Programme Lead for the Black Adoption Project, shares her insight and joins Joshua Karl, a dedicated HR and Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) professional. Joshua has experience from a range of sectors and provides valuable feedback from applicants and puts emphasis on the advantages of implementing this model.
Laurelle Brown, Director of Laurelle Brown Training and Consultancy (LBTC), along with Lydia Samuel, Head of Service representing the four Adopt London regional adoption agencies, offered their expertise on creating a recruitment process that allows applicants to prepare thoroughly in advance. They also discuss incorporating stakeholder input into the process enabling Black adoptive parents and Black adopted young people influence the final decision.
