H264 vs H265: Same quality but H265 has a higher compression ratio and generates smaller files. The one thing to consider is the software you use for video editing and rendering time. Some software (I shall not name) are struggling rendering H265 files and take forever doing so vs H264. This is my case so I use H264 because of software limitations. If you do not have this limitation then H265 is most likely the way to go since you will be saving some space on your SD card for the same quality.
