      Flour would work too and it gives a bit different finish that baking soda .. Both methods are really good to achieve this velvet look

    I'm not that good using my glue gun; I think I'll stick to puffy paint. I'm aware of adding baking soda to change the texture, but haven't tried it yet. I like the velvety result you got.

      I dont have patience for puffy paint to dry so hot glue was better option for me but I am not giving up and use for small details. Glad you like that project. Highly recommend to try faux velvet
