Loved and still love this album! Lots of melody and cranking music mixed together with one of the greatest to ever pick a guitar up. Akira is AMAZING! The original line up was simply killer for sure.
I saw Dokken in Greenville,S.C. in the 90's & got 2 go backstage & meet them & Dokken had Loudness stickers on their speakers.....i thought that was COOL.....who would'nt like LOUDNESS !!!!!!!

I've been a fan of Loudness since 1985 and I never thought I'd EVER see them live and I did! Their musicianship was off the hook and I have not seen a earth thundering show like that before. I've got a few videos on my site from the 5/12 show! I wish I could have recorded SDI because that was the last song and it was the best I've ever heard.
A fantastic song from a fantastic album, Loudness was better than the usual crap that one could hear in the radio in 1986, crap like Motley Crue, cinderella and other bands in the same category, Loudness wrote appealing songs, with great guitar work from Akira Takasaki, the vocals in english by the japanesse vocalist are nicely executed, great drummer and bass players, Loudness tried very hard to make it big in the USA, they even brought Michael Vescera as their vocalist that was to be later the vocalist of Yngwie Malmsteen, but in 1991 the band understood that it's not going to happen, so the band returned to Japan where they enjoying a status of Rock/Metal gods till present.
This is just as GOOD as 80's Heavy Metal EVER got.....very UNderated ....VERY UNDERATED!!!! I love this lp but my favorite is "Thunder in the East" & of course NOBODY will EVER replace Minaru Nihara on vocals.........NOBODY !!!!!

Damn, this really holds up well. Most songs from over 20 years ago don't sound this good or fresh. Love the vocals, the guitar solo and the drum part at 3:19/20. I hope Munetaka Higuchi's health has greatly improved.
Akira is so tasty. Yngwie and others got more press. Loudness were a great live band. Saw em' in a club in Edmonton Canada in the 80's. Nice guys. Akira was extremely nice and had no attitude. He came accross as a guy who loved guitar and loved playing guitar. He chatted backstage with us about Randy and Eddie and Uli Jon Roth and early Scorpions, Rush, Yes.
