It depends on the quality of the players in question. The players in my community games are above average skilled and active. Those are not the regular noobs on a public game. I'm fighting a coalition right now in "BM vs 99" and I've survived a 3 Vs 1 situation in "To solo or not to solo". Both were very captivating series.

I really enjoyed playing this game when I found it a few years ago, I wish they had the functionality to play closed matches with friends. The pay to win in this game just takes all the joy from it in my opinion. No amount of strategy and planning can overcome someones wallet and instant buying units...
There's not that much cold use neither. You have more chance of gold use on big maps like the Historic World War or World at War as there are more players. It doesn't happen often that you meet big spenders. Most gold use are small affairs by beginners or below average players who use the gold that they receive from the free gold advertisements. Most golders can be defeated if you attack them with multiple players. If not just archive and start over again.
Me and my 2 friends actually managed to take down a golder who was online for 24 hours non stop, I as the ugy who could be online longest kept overwatch and we got help from a level 120+ guy. the guy might have been running a macro or something but he still lost eventually.

Your border with Texas was uncomfortably large, it makes players uncomfortable. Plus, you had nowhere else to go after invading south Mexico. In addition, it would have been way better if you decided to defend against south Mexico and immediately play offense against Texas. You only share 2 provinces and it is a natural choke point (plus homeland defense is very strong). What happened here?

You cannot, this was a custom game especially for me and it was never done before.
