Honestly, United Empire really needed to win here. It's noteworthy though that Baretta wasn't in the match just to take the pin and even scored the fall. It makes he and Rocky look like more of a legitimate threat to the ROH Tag Team titles.

With the current size of their roster they should either make rampage a 2 hr show oppr split the roster.. I wish dynamite could also b 3 hr show,, that show's awesome
2 hours of dynamite is just fine. 3 hours is too much just look at raw. Rampage is a tricky one though. On one hand 1 hour of wrestling is great but then again it just feels like 2 hours could benefit it

@@randoir1863 to develop their stories? Have you paid any attention to their main event scene which is hard to narrow down because of how damm good so many stories are! AEW is doing so damn good for what the promotion is, with their RUclips channel they offer all the feuds promos and backstory in the “road to” series, and sometimes there is no story because not only do they make good a$$ stories they play with win loss ratio, AEW Dark shows a lot of that win loss development, and even shows some rookie stories for free you don’t even need cable m8, it’s great 🤙🤟 fan of all promotions but I recognize aew as a friggen awesome one! Especially when it comes to story telling, short term or long term 🤷♂️
Ospreay looked so sharp in this match. Would love to see him in AEW full-time one day. Imagine the matches he'd have with Danielson, Punk, Omega to name just a few

This was so fast paced and everywhere,it is insane how they kept the match alive. United Empire is on their way to dominate sooner rather than later. A bump on the road won‘t stop this faction 😌

Sure, let's bury FTR while you're at it. I get AEW has a lot of NJPW fanboys but from the point of view from a mainstream audience that have no idea who these guys are this was the right call. There's nothing wrong with a company protecting their own wrestlers. And the pin leaves two matches open where nobody got a pinfall on the other. Good booking, not every NJPW guy should get the win the moment they step into another company, not even Will Ospreay.
FTR is one of the best if not the best tag team in wrestling right now...
There's no shame in losing to them, plus Trent really needs this win in order to make Repongi Vice look more formidable

What an insane world we are living
The Rev-Pro Undisputed British Championship is basically a joint New-Japan Title. ROH and Rev-Pro used to have co-promoted cards in England. Back in 2019 Tanahasi and Zack Sabre Jr had a British Championship match at ROH G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden. I thought it was awesome to see Will wearing the Undisputed British Championship on Rampage.
@@jeffreyk5734 is basically a joint title? I mean yes it’s appeared on NJPW a lot, but that’s more because they have a close relationship and share talent rather than it being an almost NJPW belt. AAA have had their titles on pretty much every AEW show since Omega began his belt collector run, but you wouldn’t say the AAA mega title and tag titles were joint AEW belts.

I think it just goes to show that AEW's philosophy is that indy promotions are not a threat to AEW, if anything, they are a grassroots compliment to them. So, wrestlers coming in with indy belts and showing them off doesn't discount the importance of the actual AEW championships.
Will Ospreay was protected which was a good move. Trent winning was much needed. FTR imo are the best in AEW.
Buries New Japan in the process by getting someone like Trent who doesn't move the needle at all a win over them
First, Aussie Open are the best tag team currently in AEW not named FTR, second Trent shouldn’t have beaten a damn person, and third Will losing his first match in AEW is why he didn’t sign to AEW two years ago.

It’s refreshing to have a tag team match where you actually have to tag to be in the ring and not just jump in whenever you want and do 30 moves for 5 minutes like Young bucks and Lucha bros matches.

@@roscoe2746 it makes no sense tho. It makes the referee look stupid because they’re not enforcing the tag rules and defeats the purpose of hot tags. There’s no excitement if a guy can just jump in whenever he wants and wrestle alongside his partner however long he wants.
@@jacailou8604 agreed with that comment but you left out how dumb the ref is when he let’s the heels beat on the face for 10 minutes and any time the face tries to jump in for the save the ref pushes him back and argues with him allowing the heels to double team the face. I hate this spot in tag team matches cause everyone does it.
@@jacailou8604 the Bucks have had every type of tag team match you can possibly think of and have absolutely killed it with all of them. Yes when them and the Lucha Bros wrestle things tend to get a little chaotic but imo it's still extremely good.

I've been a wrestling fan since 1975 to see wrestlers crossover companies it is great for business as long as aew continue doing what they are doing they will eventually become the leader of professional wrestling there are more companies they can still do business with such as MLW

Very good match, surprised that United Empire didn't win. At least Ospreay wasn't pinned though.
To be honest, I was actually a little surprised that United Empire was booked to lose. I understand that you don't really want your own guys to take a loss. But I would think that you would want the NJPW guys to get the win before the PPV, to help build a story. I mean, you had the UE do a couple of run ins, trying (& failing with Great-O-Khan) to make them seem intimidating. But getting beat tonight takes the wind out of their sails before the PPV....Trent could have taken the loss & it wouldn't have hurt FTR.

He gets talked about enough that I know of him, but this is my first viewing and I don't feel like he's anything special. Just another guy. Will's 1st look and he didn't give away too much at all and was protected.
Trent was prob thought to be the guy taking the fall based on the lineup and they add to that by him tweaking the ankle almost betting he would take the fall only to swerve everyone with a win.
Great showing by everyone. I'm so excited to see Forbidden door and future stuff with NJPW since I hardly see any of it so it's nice to actually get to see it.

Interesting choice to have the united empire lose but they didn’t have their three best members all teaming in that match which is Jeff Cobb, great O Kahn and Will osprey. They also didn’t do too much with Will in this match that’s mainly due to his Iwjp us championship match happening this Sunday against Sanada which will be a pretty good match
What do you mean their best members? Aussie Open is the United Empire tag team now O'Kahn and Cobb were only tag champs because at the time UE didn't have a actual team to challenge for the belts

@@davidburke7777 KENTA and Jay White are undefeated in AEW. Ishii and Suzuki have both won matches. Only other NJPW dude I think they used was Kojima, which was a one off and someone who’s in their 50s/60s? Being fed to moxley to further an njpw feud.

This isn't a New Japan invasion, it's a RevPro invasion! As a huge fan, it's mind-blowing to see both the title belt AND Aussie Open on AEW TV. Those lads have worked their arses off for years, and it's great to see them getting exposure on a massive stage.
They don't make tag teams like FTR no more, some old school in this Era of wrestling is still needed! Great to see.
Trent getting the pin and the win is cool, but I guess the United Empire must've won here. Considering the fact that a wrestler of the calibre of Ospreay is debuting here, I think it seems logical to give them the win.

As indifferent as I am to Ospreay, so glad to see Aussie Open on this big stage, I remember seeing them at an indie show with a few hundred people years ago and now they're on this international stage, you love to see it.

What's the point of an "invasion" if they eat a pin from a lower mid carder in AEW? Trent hasn't any prestige to beat top guys from NJPW. Your missing the point. Trent isn't a singles main eventer. And the wider American audience only knows him from AEW, so despite him wrestling on Strong, he still shouldn't be pushed over top talent from NJPW that are making their debut as an invasion angle.

This was a great match and great to see Will Ospreay in AEW. Look forward to seeing him again at the Forbidden door PPV be interesting to see who he fights or if it will a re-match or another type of tag match involving United Empire. Oh and Satnam Singh already > Omos!
I’ve seen some of Ospreay’s work, and I’m just amazed. 19 5 star matches to his name, and he’s only 29. I doubt he’ll sign with AEW, but a man can dream. The plethora of dream matches he can have.

I know TK is protecting his guys but c'mon man. If you wanna have a good working relationship with another wrestling company, especially New Japan, let them win some matches.
1) RevPro being represented on a major US wrestling show? All for it
2) Dunkzilla being able to perform at the intensity and level he does after a 16 month layoff is astonishing

@@m_js5709 As a person who watched both clips I'm only informed of that through your comment just now. I doubt I'm alone. No idea before watching this invasion angle who these njpw guys are. And them losing doesn't suddenly make me anymore interested in finding out. I'm not going to to tune into a ppv to see guys I don't know that I just saw lose in this clip. I would probably tune in if they won because I'd want to see if FTR/AEW get their revenge. TL:DR yes they needed to win.

Somone who was gonna watch it, suddenly isnt gonna back out because they lost & thats all that matters. Osprey brought his b team and lost. If they won then that leaves 0 purpose for his groups top tag team.
The actual criticism you brought up thats extremely valid is how piss poor a job AEW has done of introducing who these NJPW wrestlers are. Idk why they expect everyone to automatically know whos who or care. As you said, most people dont follow NJPW
