Don't know why but this made me pretty emotional. Her determination to achieve her goal no matter what others feel is pretty motivating. "The Best or nothing at all" - Karl Benz
Cecilie BERTHA Ringer BENZ was a bold German visionary long before the spoke of female empowerment. She changed the world as we know it. Even as a minor, she asked her father to emancipate her so that she could take her dowry in advance and invest in the small business that her fiancé Carl Michel Vaillant Benz was starting there in Pforzheim. They later moved to Manheim, where they founded a metallurgist interprise, in which Carl created his prototype used for the patent application, granted in January 1886. For THREE years, through magazine advertisements, newspapers and exhibition fairs, he tried unsuccessfully to sell his product but nobody wanted it, it was thought that it was much more practical (and cheap) to use a horse than that "contraption". This led to the bankruptcy of the Benz family metallurgist, with the attachment of all machines and equipment for auction. Only the small vehicle was left, even the bank didn't want it. But Bertha believed in the invention of the desperate and desperate husband and secretly planned to help him. In the early hours of August 5, 1888, with the help of his teenage sons, Eugen and Richard, she moved away from home and started the engine of Patent Wagen No. 3 (the first two were very fragile and unstable - no one had actually run satisfactorily with them) and undertook one of the most important journeys in the history of mankind. At that moment she just wanted to save her family. After sixty-six miles to her hometown of Pforzheim, she not only publicized her husband's upbringing, getting the first clients, but revolutionized the world: She was the very FIRST PERSON to truly DRIVE a car - and not by meters (as Carl) but by HUNDREDS OF KILOMETERS; It started the world auto industry (August 5, 1888 is the official birth for this feat); Created Product Engineering, there is no car factory without it. His critical observations and emergency modifications throughout the journey, later passed on to Carl, made for a better product. And saved the man she loved. Julio Cesar Gaudioso
it's a powerful advertisement from Mercedes-Benz that tells a brief story of its modest beginnings. Kudos to the creators of this compilation. Cheers, from an AMG G63 G-Wagon driver.
What is even more cool is that her husband, Carl, being the engineer that he was, told her it wasn't yet ready to show the public. So while he was asleep, Bertha took her children and the car out herself. One could say she was also the first car thief :-) But I admire her spunk and determination.
The complexity and precision in the choreography and acting is incredible. Go back and view it again, note the continuous flow of changing, but perfect camera angles, perfect facial responses, lighting, scenes, etc... This video required a lot of time, money, talent and props. Very impressive.
This video is an absolute insult on the German people ...this has the attitude of a filthy western pretending to be central Germany at the turn of the century .. no faces or buildings are correct .... repugnant as the anglo expresions represented !!!
More than a commercial this video sends a strong message-There are times when we will be alone surrounded by obstacles with confidence and determination we can overcome it. Definitely Benz also faced this kind of obstacles in their journey. The way she looks back to the people when she goes at the end of the video says all even that child got inspired by this can be seen in her gentle smile.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! ❤️ We’re glad that this video resonates so deeply and conveys the inspiring legacy Bertha Benz left behind. We’re proud to honor her legacy and grateful to see how it continues to inspire today. 😍

But hope they don't only focus on her but also on Karl and his triumphs. Truth is both partners in that marriage where complementary to each other, needed each other to achieve success
@@leepalmer1210 The concept of why they pointed our her specifically is because she was a wife who supported her husband. I understand the tidbit of just showing her, but there's too much of "independent women" going on now. Many women do not understand the true meaning of support. In this case, supporting her husband. Many feminists will hate this, because they are showing a wife who supports something her husband created, but it's a great message for many young girls to not be so mean and bitter towards men. In short, it shows how strong women can really be when they share goals with their husbands. This in my opinion has to be a message to young girls and women that it's OK to support men.

That is why I love Germany and German brands. Because they have their own humble beginnings. Either it is Adidas Or Puma, or Mercedes or BMW, they rose from the ash and reach to the top. Mercedes is brand I really wanted to own one day when I am self sufficient enough to buy it because Mercedes cars are history in itself.
VW rose from the ashes but just because the British wanted it that way. Let's not forget that Wolfsburg today is a product of the nazi regime. In 1888 people weren't as superstitious as shown. They were already used to steam engines, big mechanised factories and railways. The railroad passing in between the cities of Wiesloch and Walldorf already existed. In opposite: There was a huge belief and fandom in technology those days and people were very friendly, curious and ready to help, wherever Bertha Benz showed up.
This shows how dangerous commercials can be. people think tehy learn history, while everythign you see here is carefully crafted by a large marketing team in order to appease current sociopolitical sensibilities. The precisely crafted narrative you see here only serves to make the current mainstream feel good and to sell their product. Only women pulling the plough while the man steers, "witch" yelling, man getting dressed by woman, man spitting on the floor, the bar full of smug men, and the portrayal of Bertha benz as some sort of Marie Curie all serves to make you think and feel a certain way- not to convey the actual life and experience of that age. Corporations should feel ashamed for manipulating the masses just to sell a few more cars- which probably could be sold even easier with a proper commercial. I suspect marketing teams are seeded and grown in radicalized university environment are are more motivated to rile up the masses through ideology instead of doing their job ethically.

Don't know why but this made me pretty emotional.
Her determination to achieve her goal no matter what others feel is pretty motivating.
"The Best or nothing at all"
- Karl Benz
After sixty-six miles to her hometown of Pforzheim, she not only publicized her husband's upbringing, getting the first clients, but revolutionized the world:
She was the very FIRST PERSON to truly DRIVE a car - and not by meters (as Carl) but by HUNDREDS OF KILOMETERS;
It started the world auto industry (August 5, 1888 is the official birth for this feat);
Created Product Engineering, there is no car factory without it. His critical observations and emergency modifications throughout the journey, later passed on to Carl, made for a better product.
And saved the man she loved.
Julio Cesar Gaudioso
As someone on another thread says "Sometimes a man's only army is his wife".

What is even more cool is that her husband, Carl, being the engineer that he was, told her it wasn't yet ready to show the public.
So while he was asleep, Bertha took her children and the car out herself.
One could say she was also the first car thief :-)
But I admire her spunk and determination.

Carl Benz and Bertha Benz were a legend for making a new era of transportation
Better show an advertisement about how Mercedes Benz helped Hitler conquer the world and carry out genocide of people, because it was their engines that powered tigers and other tanks! Show how prisoners of concentration camps were driven hungry to work at Mercedes Benz, how they were mocked! This advertising will be more interesting, after which no one will ever buy your deceitful equipment!😢
Can’t believe that she lived almost for a hundred years in 19th century.

This bring me tears for some reason
I feel that I’m watching Sherlock Holmes (Mercedes Benz Version)🕵🏻♂️.
Mercedes benz: Here is the first car ever a breaktrough in a tecnology
People: She is a witch
@@stardestroyer8084 and if you look through the comments everyone is saying how brave she was but in reality she took that car without telling her husband which is pretty dangerous considering it was a brand new technology
@@stardestroyer8084 no can't agree with you. People were actually like that back then. They didn't had any friggin understanding of their surroundings back then so I don't blame them either coz the whole world was like that once mythical fire breathing dragons & el chupacabra used to roam the land back then 😂😂😂😂 they were stoned with or without smoking weed most of the time & seeing giants dog headed man or Anubis back then. When there was a thunder ow Zeus might be farting 😂😜
