Oh man, that IH Scout brought back some memories. For a time in my early 30s I was considering making a rock crawler, looked into all sorts of things related to it. Jeeps were the common choice for beginners and veterans, but also the IH Scout was considered a really great rock crawler, once shortened. It came standard with many things you wanted in a rock crawler, that you had to add to a jeep, it was tough as nails, and the engine was easy to fix, with or without parts. If I recall correctly, they were used by scouts in WW2, and like the jeep found customers after the war by word of mouth from veterans. When I finally get this game, I'll have to keep the scout just for nostalgia.
imo the Scout 800 is the better scout than the chevy. 3 reasons. First it has diff lock on all the time, which is great for offroad and mud Second is the fuel consumption. It uses such low fuel you can drive it for a long time before you need to fuel up Thirdly it has awesome repair services. Lots of fuel and repair upgrades. I used the scout for the meteorological data challenge. Zipping around all over the map without a care in the world on the type of the terrain. it just doesn't care lol. And with offroad tires it's even better! That is until you find the TUZ
Yeah, I definitely didn't give the 800 enough of a try. Now my favourite scouts are the Ford F750 and the Tatarin, providing I don't need to attach a trailer. 😊👍🏼
Ah don't worry about having AWD on while on tarmac. You have more grip and can get to where you're going slightly quicker anyways. I leave it on all the time.
Yeah, the only concern really is the fuel efficiency penalty for having AWD on, but even on tarmac you spin often enough that it's generally not worth turning it off IMO. 😊👍🏼
Si-6V/2100T has slightly higher torque than the Westline engine. It's a better engine for a highway truck. The more torque the better because there's no AWD, but Diff lock for the GMC for a while.
again I know this is old, but does anybody knows, you technically don't need specific trailer for tasks, do you? I mean if quest tells you there is a stuck fuel carrier in the swamp, bring it here, but the task itself says "bring fuel carrier" you can technically use any fuel carrier from anywhere else, right? Like for example on Black River, you are supposed to bring one to the gas station, and you are using one the whole time from that camp near garage. If you use the fuel, you should be able to ten ring it to station without needed to pull the other one from the swamp?
Lol, half of your shortcomings in ep 4 and ep5 is your use of first person camera, meaning, you can't see the terrain ahead of you in 1st person. But if you prefer it, you prefer it 🤣🤷🏻♂️

I quite enjoy the International Scout, simply for its beauty, bit of nostalgia. It will flip over just looking at it though haha

Sadly that’s not how it works you gotta take the one stuck in the swamp else it would be to easy
