I enjoyed it: when I was little in the early 90s my dad had this keyboard and grew up my childhood playing it. We no longer have it but I surely miss it: 😎😎
This is my favorite Casio keyboard ever! Keys feels so good and sounds awesome through a bunch of old school hardware efx. I actually own two of these...
I remember the days of recording my 15 minute space jams using my CT-310, Moog Rogue and 2 Stereo cassette decks. 1982-83-ish nostalgia, even with the high amount of cheesiness.
Got to say, I feel like some of the sounds I've made with this thing REALLY remind me of Devo LOL. Lots of fun to be had with the arpeggiator for this thing, even though it only plays on the lower register.
My very first ever FULLSIZED keyboard! I got mine from a neighbor of my cousin who's house caught fire and I saw this keyboard with burnt keys and asked for it. They said they had to wait for insurance claims first but as soon as they got the claim, I got the keyboard! I sadly do not have this anymore but should not be hard to find again cheap ironically. A classic for sure. It uses the same electronics of the MT65/CT405, but without the extra sounds, and sound modulation effects section.
I don't know why you think it's underated-those 1980s casios sometimes sell for more than the new keyboards. But they were defintely much more creative in the 1980s!
You know what? you gived me the taste to make myself a music room! With different keyboards of differents times. I had the realistic concermate 1000M and i loved it for its simplicity and 80's feel! So now i just bought this CT-310 on ebay.. and also the Yamaha PC-100 (1982!) The realistic concermate 700, the casio CT-640, and im looking soon for the casio CT-670! The last one i will probably get for my collection is of course the realistic concermate 1000M if i got the chance to get one! I know the casio MT-240 is the same.. but the demo music is different.. and is the same to the demo music of the the CT-640.. so for nostalgia i really want the realistic! I play piano and keyboard and compose my own music for over 20 years now. nothing expert but amator. many different keybords from differents times will open infinate horizons! Well thanks for this!
Hmm, it sounds like a fault to me, I'm sorry to say. There aren't any 'hidden' controls that might cause this, not that I can think of. No-one has discreetly plugged in a pair of of headphones have they?
Cheesy, but classic sounds. I think my first keyboard I bought was a Casio. I don't remember the price, or year, but I think it might have been their first one. At that time, they were only known for calculators and early LED watches. It had a silver finish, so basic, with only 2 octaves. I don't even remember if it had more than one voice. Lol
Haha yep, it was a golden age! I can remember being utterly blown away by a calculator watch in about 1982. I Paid 19.95 for it which was probably like spending $80 now, and I wasn't even a teenager ...I wonder what happened to that watch...
@@gearfacts That first Casio keyboard didn't even have any rhythm feature or nothing. Zilch. Lol. And yeah, was it Pulsar, or someone else that came out with the first LED wristwatch, and the Casio and Seiko took over, and came out with the LCD display watches? Yeah, the had the Casio PT, and then that VLTone VL 1 I had that so many artists used the cheesy rhythms, with the calculator, etc. Jimmy Fallon used it on his show a lot, but I didn't realize how many big name artists used it. That Casio CT310 you tested here has some of the same cheesy voice patches. And yes, I have a Casio Rapman in storage, too. Quincy Jones used one of the early portable Yamaha keyboards for the rhythm on MJ's PYT, and maybe the rest of the album. I can still used the vintage stuff I have with the new gear.
Are the outputs really that noisy? I have a ct405 and has a number of these cool sounds but doesn't emit this level of noise. Now, as for my Lowrey Micro Genie Pro... oh ya. Noise central.
I got one from the Goodwill outlet(pay by the pound) it was over 10 pounds so it cost $7. It had batteries in it and everything on it works except the accomp variations. Anyone know if there is a fix for this? Probably a long shot but worth a try.
You know ive commented several times love the channel. Where do you put all these killer machines? HHaha. Sell? I need old rolamd. Korg etc. Lol. Love the floydy pads.
Hi RC, thanks again for your support. Yeah I have to sell most of them sadly (this particular one was swept up VERY quickly) in order to fund the gear for the next video. Or else I'd be one broke dude. They always get listed on the Gearfacts page on Facebook if ever you are interested in a particular machine :) GF
I was looking into purchasing one but they're selling it for double that amount. I'll consider negotiating, especially if it has any noticeable defects, other than that I'm very interested in buying it either way.
Hmm, that's a strange one. The only solution would be to take the back off and see what's holding it down. The inner key assembly is very easy to access, you may even find the object falls out on its own. Keep me posted :) Gearfacts
I did a video about an MT400 (I think that was the model number) but I don't remeber seeing a "v" at the end ...I'll look up the link for you and post it here

Got this at a thrift store for 20 dollars. Such a beautiful instrument. 🙂

Funny you should say that, today's video is about effects processing on the CT-310: ruclips.net/video/BeEMB9lBT0E/видео.html
SLOWBLACK still have one, was my ist keyboard back in 1989.... made some creepy tunes wit it:)
Best keyboard for the lofi sounds and dream pop harmonies

Just bought one of these. Love the look & style of this particular keyboard. Some nice sounds

Love these casio tones from 80s !!!!
I hope they manufacture or bring it back in the Markt!!!!!

3:21 is the tone...I love it!!!
It sounds soooo humble and sad! Totally charming, I love it too :)
This was my first keyboard as a kid back in the early 80s 😊
I love those accomps, so cheesy but so cool at the same time.
Yep, in tomorrow's video you'll hear them run through all kinds of effects - it's amazing! Gearfacts
Wow, a vintage Casio! I have a CT 510 from 1987.
Very cool!
omg, i had one of these in the 80s. not sure why i got it since i couldn't play the piano, but it was neat making those sounds.
Yep, that was me in that golden age too :) GF
An affordable Melotron....
Casio is the most underated brand EVER

$5 at a rummage sale today! Score!
Wonderful tones on that one!
Indeed!
I found one yesterday in the garbage
I stopped playing mine for ten years...and now it sounds more wobbly and dodgy than ever..
LOL same about body parts;)
I mentioned before that I have the 360 now I’d like to get the 370 or 380 with better pcm piano sounds .
Yes those higher models have a really dreamy, Vangelis-type piano sound as I recall.
What would make the volume go way way low all of a sudden? I have checked all the bells and whistles.

Could be the cheap power supply I used

Probably needs the sensor under the button to be replaced. Easy, inexpensive job but time-consuming.
Does it always has this creepy sound or does it have the piano sound? Cause I am about to buy one just like in this video!
I think in this video you'll hear every sound it has :) #gearfacts
I have one for sale
Great review as always .
Thanks man, part 2 has just been uploaded
ok gracias
This was my first keyboard of the early 80s. It would have sounded better thru a pignose. Wish I had one back then.
Ooh there was another pignose on ebay for $90 today ...soooorrrely tempted
the internal speaker isnt that bad imo
@@gearfacts That must be a new one. Too bad your other one failed.
thanks for this
You're most welcome :) #gearfacts
Sounds similair to the casio mt45👍
It does!

What does the piano voice sound like?
It was demonstrated in there somewhere. It sounds NOTHING like a piano haha
I just purchased one for $25 dollars, it works great...
I was looking into purchasing one but they're selling it for double that amount. I'll consider negotiating, especially if it has any noticeable defects, other than that I'm very interested in buying it either way.
By any chance, do you know how to fix a black key that is stuck down?
Hmm, that's a strange one. The only solution would be to take the back off and see what's holding it down. The inner key assembly is very easy to access, you may even find the object falls out on its own. Keep me posted :) Gearfacts

Mine says ctk-411 is that the number thing or
CTK-411 is a model number
@@gearfacts thanks for telling me
have you played with an MT-400v?
I did a video about an MT400 (I think that was the model number) but I don't remeber seeing a "v" at the end ...I'll look up the link for you and post it here
Ah yes, it was indeed an MT400V: ruclips.net/video/Kb15VmDZ8is/видео.html
I'll check it out.
That's got a great analogue filter. I sold that Casio and a Korg monologue to buy my Moog Grandmother.
