Steve, keep some videos coming please. I always enjoyed watching your videos and listening to you is relaxing. You were gone for so long I didn’t know if you were going to ever come back or not.
The scene around the fire reminded me of the film I, Robot, when the obsolete robots just started grouping together. So peaceful. Great video, as always.
Really enjoyed the vid and seeing the meetup. I follow you and Brian’s video adventures. So glad to see people getting together and talking about all things camping. Looks like the scooter did a good job for you! Thanks for the vid and all the work it takes to make them for us. 😃
I love coming across videos from this gathering! I kept looking for me / my truck in your video.... No luck! Agree with how you described like minded people gathering all to meet Brian. Great group!
Steve I've been watching Brian's channel a bit longer than yours but not by much. You two are the only van-lifers I've really stuck with, so you do have something in common!
@@XplorerSteveDIY BTW--Here's another thing you have in common with Brian: You don't spend all your screen time begging for money. You actually provide content. Cheers!
Passing those big rigs are always heart wrenching when you're in an underpowered car, whether you have time to kill or not it's better late than never and better safe than sorry. As for a solo camper your 4runner is the way to go, I prefer a SUV like yours over a pickup truck with a camper shell built. As always looking forward for more videos from you. Thank you and stay safe.
I bought a small scooter with fat tires to take to the desert in Utah in my RV. It did not work out at all. It road ruff, slid all over the place, and was terribly underpowered. But it was my first electric vehicle and since then I have gone nuts. I bought an eBike soon after, then another eBike, then an eCar and i love them all. Now I want an eVan to convert to an RV! I have also gone solar crazy building power stations and solar panel setups.
I did the same thing with the E bikes and E cars. I was surprised about the scooter my 2 Wheel Dr. is pretty capable. I have some knobby tires in a box that I plan to put on it they are about twice as wide.
@@XplorerSteveDIY Bty, I am also on the 8/24 fasting except I am trying to do 6/24. The hardest part is I also gave up sugar, that one is tough. I eat meat, but only as a condiment (exception is the obligated occasionally hamburger).
Great to see a video from you. Brian would be one of the RUclipsrs I would enjoy meeting too. I love your 4 Runner, I is a mansion compared to my Jeep Patriot. You have to be verticality challenged to sleep in my build... If you could call it a build. After several years of searching, we finally found a class B van that is perfect for my husband and I. Now if the last part will just get here so we can take it out on our first trip. We drove over 200 miles to purchase it and we had to drive back on old dryrotted tires and questionable suspension. Good thing it was not hot and we could take our time. Thank you for another great video. Safe travels.
@@XplorerSteveDIY I was thinking your van likely was in similar condition when you purchased it. The interior of ours is in almost new shape though, and the kitchen is equipped. The cabinet doors are solid oak though and the cabinet veneer is intact. We can't wait to get started on taking trips.
I am glad that you are posting videos again. I always enjoy watching your videos and appreciate the content. Thank you sharing and please keep them coming.
Cool, you’re posting again. Those gravity chairs are a nice alternative to camp chairs. I’m looking forward to camping at Boulder Beach after my wife recovers from shoulder surgery, it’s my favorite local campground and since they have no power, gives me a chance to play with my solar equipment.
Glad you’re posting again. You inspired me to convert my ride into a micro camper last year. I even copied your window covers for stealth. Much easier than dragging my travel trailer around. Safe travels man!
But Shyanne (my puppy) wasn't asked if she could be on utube. I was in the red Chevy Silverado with red canopy. That was Paul that asked about your bike.
Two of my favorites! Looks like you're out of town, but if you get back, Wendy, Sam and I will be in Vegas Tuesday and Wednesday (8th and 9th) if you want to meet up! Good seeing you on here again!
I gotta head out to Quartzite one of these years. That's a 2,500-mile haul for me (in a 26-year old van), so plenty of advance planning will be necessary. Should probably build in some time to see some other stuff along the way.
Great videos! Good to see you doing more videos. I use a Black & Decker 6-cup rice cooker/steamer with a Jackery 1000. It's AC power but only draws 300 watts. I cook rice and fresh chicken at the same time. Cooking 25 minutes used about 20% of Jackery battery. Just sharing cooking options for those windy or rainy days inside. I liked your pressure cooker! I will have to try using one.
You know, I heard you were there and my friends I was camped with exchanged pleasantries with you, but I was deeply entrenched in truck camper projects and didn't even know you were there till it was a history lesson and I was camped not to far from Brian. I can't help but wonder why we never get to see the Explorer any more. Don't get me wrong I like what you've done with the 4 Runner, and it's an awesome urban stealth machine but for Quartzsite I think I'd have taken the Class B. Just MHO. I very much liked the video. Airing down always helps off road but the suspension does well. I was surprised. Two wheel drive pulls right along. Around 2k. I see people using these as transportation on the daily in big cities. They beat cars and are cheap for the speed. Some are 6 or 7k and go 70mph. Too scary for me.
