Zarina Altynbayeva, a Kazakh soprano opera singer, worked with Dimash one time. He'd been requested to sing a duet with her during his time on "I Am Singer" TV show in China. Later in an interview, she related how much she worried for him after this experience. She told the story of how Dimash flew from China to Kazakhstan for this performance, and went straight to rehearsal. She said she'd never seen a rehearsal like this one. She said a singer always holds back during a rehearsal, but not Dimash. She said he goes all out 100% every time he sings, whether it's a rehearsal or a soundcheck, and he never says "no" if asked to sing. She said, ever since that experience she worries for Dimash. That was seven years ago, and nothing's changed. If there's anything to worry about, we haven't seen it.

Dude, this guy is 24hr-ready to sing, anytime, anywhere..like instant noodles, he will be ready in 3mins and sounds perfect, no prep or downtime needed. He even belts out Queen of the Night aria at the emergency exit stairs once and its perfect😂😂

Dimash has the best work ethic of anyone I know. This is more than a sound check - this is rehearsal for him. He does it before any performance, and gives it everything he would give in his concerts. ❤
Dimash has no choice but to perform his soundchecks with his best singing because he knows that someone out there is going to be recording him and then sharing it on social media (as here). He doesn't ever want to look like he's doing something half-heartedly. Professionalism at its finest. We should all take a lesson.

I heard him do a sound check singing 'Love of Tired Swans' at 12:30 am when I walked past the stadium in Istanbul the morning before the concert. It was amazing! Just stood there in the street, listening!!

Dimash doesn't know how to do it any otherway, as soon as he goes on stage he gets in the zone. It was discovered that he had perfect pitch at age 5, he went to a piano and played back perfectly what he'd heard somebody play. He has built in auto tuning, he doesn't need it. Remarkable i know. He's been trained since age 5, having come from a family of singers and musicians, it was noticed very early he was naturally gifted. he first started on the piano before he could run. There's film clips of him sat at a childs piano, giving it hell.!! He's been classically trained, studied composition in all genres of music, has degrees, Masters and has almost completed a Doctorate, so will have letters after his name. When he's old & grey he'll be mentoring young talent no doubt.
Don’t worry - he is warmed up, because he said in the morning he is practicing after woke up and if possible he takes a few rounds in the Swimmingpool to train his lungs 😂 He also said before a concert he is training up to 10 hours and then he avoid speaking at all. I saw an interview with his mother that said, as singers, they had been trained to sing in many positions, even laying down. She was not surprised at all that Dimash could sing hunched over or jumping.

From what I've seen of other Dimash sound checks, he seems to run through a whole song. I think here he may also have been using it as a rehearsal (he only had 2 songs to sing at Exit) to practice his "moves" and see how everything fit on the stage. It also seems like there must have been a group of people watching, so that may be why he did a real performance. At a different sound check, the kobyz play wasn't there yet so Dimash just sang the instrumental intro, making his voice sound like the kobyz!
Think the kobyz part was for the Almaty concert a few years ago. It was pretty insane, one almost started to look around for the instrument, but nope. It was just Dimash, singing the kobyz part.

I am so happy and a bit envious of you young singers because you have this icon right in front of you to emulate in whatever way you can. Be inspired! Very inspired! I would encourage you to take note of what he does and be unafraid to expand your artistic and performance boundaries. Coming at this from a different angle Dimash can't afford to sound or look second rate at any point when there are cameras on him, there are people constantly waiting to take him down. Last year someone took the performance of Adagio at Sochi and using auto tune made it appear that Dimash was out of tune and put it on RUclips and all over the internet claiming that this was his real voice without auto tune, luckily people had seen the same performance via fancam so this was quickly disabused but you can see how easily reputations can be destroyed with a lackluster performance. It doesn't matter to many people how good a person you are, if they're envious enough they will use anything, even a half hearted rehearsal performance to bring you down.
Dimash's genius is signed, sealed and delivered. He doesn't have to prove himself to anybody on this planet, be they experts, dissers or envious nincompoops. I don't think he does regular soundchecks, he always sings the full song or part of it just for the joy of singing and for the benefit of the crew and other lurkers. It's just his M.O.
@@makila7715 to us, no he doesn't need to prove himself but you'd be surprised how many people were quick to jump on the faked video and say I knew he was a fake. I do agree with you that he never gives less than 100%. He just enjoys singing, he is music!
@@debbiemorgan859 I'm a dedicated follower. So, I'm aware of "them". My point is that Dimash does not do his soundchecks as a defensive gesture, it's just standard practice for him. He doesn't have the time nor the desire to take anybody down. His voice and character silences any aggression. He's not a boy, he's just a man in a man's world...reducing many of them to tears with the sheer power and beauty of his voice.

To me he is sound checking the recording and how good it will sound. But it is fine, I still love him for his great voice and the little live ad libs, that was fun.
there's another vid out there of him doing a sound check, but the Kobyz player wasn't there, so he sang the part of the instrument, and if you weren't looking you'd think it was the actual instrument

Everytime I watched your reactions, I've noticed the header in the chat, about you being an independent artist. You must appreciate the fact that Dimash is also an independent artist, because he wants 100% creative freedom. He emphasized in several interviews that he wants to be the one deciding what to sing and how to sing it. He also wants to determine the arrangement and all the other choices involved. That doesn't mean that he doesn't work together with professionals, but he wants to have the last say. He works together with music producers and labels, but they don't own him, he will never sign an exclusive commitment. His father is his manager and producer through their own DimashAli production company.

Anyone who has been following Dimash for a long time won't be surprised. Dimash is always all in when it comes to music. He performs because he is a perfectionist in a certain way, but, and this is even more important, because he simply has a lot of fun doing it. And he also proves everyone who ever claimed he was just pretending to sing wrong. He has been accused of lip-syncing a few times because so many people don't understand how good he really is. I mean, sorry, he warms up his voice with The Queen of the Night. Who does that? He is music in every pore of his being.
It would be nice to have a "usual" sound check to compare since I have no idea what is usually done. But, I can tell from your expression that this isn't normal for a sound check. lol
not surprising but still incredibly beautiful. I've been watching dimash from the first time he appeared on a singing contest in China. he brought me to tears then and still amazes me now this man has a gift that no one else has on this planet. go Dimash!
Dimash lives music. He understands very well what his voice needs and pampers it suffciently. But its such a well oiled machine he can do 3 hr concerts....with 9 minute songs included. He lives a clean life. Free of drugs, drink, smoke, or bad diet. He swims a full lap underwater olimpic size pool. Genetics, lust for life. Good soul. Its a wonderful thing to witness an example of mankind at its best. Not just skill...but noblility. Have a great show You're pretty good. You got your market. Best of luck.

I just saw a reaction yesterday from someone who was invited to someone's channel, supposedly Peter Frampton's sound manager, who said after watching SOS that Dimash "didn't hit him". Was not impressed. Guy obviously has lasted in his job way too long and has no clue. Thanks for posting this! I so enjoyed it, as usual!
I don't think Dimash understands the concept of doing something half-assed just because it's not an actual performance. I believe he only has one rank on his ladder of doing things: 100%.

I am so happy that you are saying what you are because there are always those who say that everything that Dimash does is not singing live, because they cannot believe that Dimash IS THAT GOOD!!! Yes, he does all that he needs to do to protect his voice, but this many sings all of the time and practices no less than 3 hours a day, every single day and has for years. He is amazing and people need to start to believe it! :D
most of the world is lazy. that's why its hard for some to believe that a person can excel to a higher level bc they don't know what its like to work hard and once you get past working hard, to work even harder, and then to work at your hardest. they excuse themselves with nah i work smarter not harder. that's a gimmick. to attain your best is to work hard at outdoing yourself each day. laziness, the bane of the human race.

Dimash is a 'what you see is what you get' kinda guy. His character is the same at home, he treats his fans like his own family. a rare gem.
This soundcheck sounded better than the actual performance because the fun improvisations. Just my opinion.

When I used to play sports, my coach used to preach "You play like you practice". Maybe he had the same coach!!!

Coming at this from a different angle Dimash can't afford to sound or look second rate at any point when there are cameras on him, there are people constantly waiting to take him down. Last year someone took the performance of Adagio at Sochi and using auto tune made it appear that Dimash was out of tune and put it on RUclips and all over the internet claiming that this was his real voice without auto tune, luckily people had seen the same performance via fancam so this was quickly disabused but you can see how easily reputations can be destroyed with a lackluster performance.
It doesn't matter to many people how good a person you are, if they're envious enough they will use anything, even a half hearted rehearsal performance to bring you down.
Dimash's genius is signed, sealed and delivered. He doesn't have to prove himself to anybody on this planet, be they experts, dissers or envious nincompoops. I don't think he does regular soundchecks, he always sings the full song or part of it just for the joy of singing and for the benefit of the crew and other lurkers. It's just his M.O.
@@makila7715 to us, no he doesn't need to prove himself but you'd be surprised how many people were quick to jump on the faked video and say I knew he was a fake. I do agree with you that he never gives less than 100%. He just enjoys singing, he is music!
@@debbiemorgan859 I'm a dedicated follower. So, I'm aware of "them". My point is that Dimash does not do his soundchecks as a defensive gesture, it's just standard practice for him. He doesn't have the time nor the desire to take anybody down. His voice and character silences any aggression. He's not a boy, he's just a man in a man's world...reducing many of them to tears with the sheer power and beauty of his voice.

Everytime I watched your reactions, I've noticed the header in the chat, about you being an independent artist.
You must appreciate the fact that Dimash is also an independent artist, because he wants 100% creative freedom. He emphasized in several interviews that he wants to be the one deciding what to sing and how to sing it. He also wants to determine the arrangement and all the other choices involved. That doesn't mean that he doesn't work together with professionals, but he wants to have the last say. He works together with music producers and labels, but they don't own him, he will never sign an exclusive commitment. His father is his manager and producer through their own DimashAli production company.
Dimash's rehearsals are even better than his concerts (if its even possible to outrank perfection) cause he is relaxed and improvising ❤❤

Anyone who has been following Dimash for a long time won't be surprised. Dimash is always all in when it comes to music. He performs because he is a perfectionist in a certain way, but, and this is even more important, because he simply has a lot of fun doing it. And he also proves everyone who ever claimed he was just pretending to sing wrong. He has been accused of lip-syncing a few times because so many people don't understand how good he really is.
I mean, sorry, he warms up his voice with The Queen of the Night. Who does that? He is music in every pore of his being.

Dimash lives music. He understands very well what his voice needs and pampers it suffciently. But its such a well oiled machine he can do 3 hr concerts....with 9 minute songs included. He lives a clean life. Free of drugs, drink, smoke, or bad diet. He swims a full lap underwater olimpic size pool. Genetics, lust for life. Good soul. Its a wonderful thing to witness an example of mankind at its best. Not just skill...but noblility.

"This is a soundcheck"...lol! Yup. Our Dimash doesn't put 100% in everything. He puts 1000%!! I just saw a reaction yesterday from someone who was invited to someone's channel, supposedly Peter Frampton's sound manager, who said after watching SOS that Dimash "didn't hit him". Was not impressed. Guy obviously has lasted in his job way too long and has no clue. Thanks for posting this! I so enjoyed it, as usual!

I am so happy that you are saying what you are because there are always those who say that everything that Dimash does is not singing live, because they cannot believe that Dimash IS THAT GOOD!!! Yes, he does all that he needs to do to protect his voice, but this many sings all of the time and practices no less than 3 hours a day, every single day and has for years. He is amazing and people need to start to believe it! :D
most of the world is lazy. that's why its hard for some to believe that a person can excel to a higher level bc they don't know what its like to work hard and once you get past working hard, to work even harder, and then to work at your hardest. they excuse themselves with nah i work smarter not harder. that's a gimmick. to attain your best is to work hard at outdoing yourself each day. laziness, the bane of the human race.
