Stockhausen - Klavierstücke, Nr I (Audio + Score)

- The first four Klavierstücke together mark a stage in Stockhausen's evolution from point music to group composition. They were composed in the order III-II-IV-I, the first two (originally titled simply A and B) in February 1952, and the remaining two before June 1952. Number I was therefore the last of the set to be composed.
"It was written in just 2 days and probably flowed quite intuitively from his pen. In fact, only when analyzing it after the fact did Stockhausen notice the symmetry he'd unconsciously incorporated into it. The groupings are based on things like register, dynamic curve, melodic direction, tempo, chord elements etc... Though it also has the chordal and contrapuntal elements of II and IV, it's notable for having several pauses and sustained chords which make it easier to identify these groups/structures. Stockhausen considers these "breaths" as a structural step forward from previous more "homogenous" serial compositions. To me, it also feels like it's speeding up and slowing down throughout and is generally the most "violent" of the 4 piano pieces." (Ed Chang) Видеоклипы
The problem with Stockhausen's composition is that it is too pandered to mass audience.
I agree. I once attended a concert at which the man himself was conducting. The audience was pretty massive.
Yes, that's a great piece, some harmonies are incredible especially with the detailed intensities. Stockhausen has really find a wonderful way to make fortes, pianos etc an integral part of harmonic language. I hope i will be able to do something similar one day.
I love the tempo marking. Not only does it leave a lot open for interpretation, making it a much more interesting piece from an audience standpoint (in my opinion), but also appeals to the performer and increases the universality of its performability.
Este estudio es hermoso!
so good ...
Still here
kontarsky capto el significado de la obra. Otro precursor
It's back!!!
I really want to understand why this kind of music needed to exist
Because it's amazing!
@@SeigneurReefShark you are a mad lad 🤣
@@digdtea2290 not really lol, there's plenty of people liking this! It just takes time and listening to like this but once you do, it opens a whole new musical world to you.

Is it played by two cats ?
such precision in the performance, yet thats all you can say?
Performed by Aloys Kontarsky.
who also gives one of the best renditions of Xenakis's 'Evryali' -worth hearing if you don't know his version (it's very fast!)
Who is playing?
I'd like to

Composer: runs out of musical ideas.
Composer: random bulls*it go!
Shut up
But isn't random bulls*it nice?
he hadn't run out of ideas at all! One thing which is worth noting - he certainly didn't get stuck in one area: compare this piece to 'Stimmung' , ' Trans' or 'Mantra'. All very different from one another.
this is probably the most horrendous thing I have ever heard and will have heard
I don't get why or how the artist managed to create such a mess of a music piece
my ears are bleeding
Forgive me, but your criticism is "probably the most horrendous thing I have ever heard and will have heard." Stockhausen happens to be one of my top favorite composers OF ALL TIME!! I am pretty offended by what you just said, and I think you should learn to tolerate other types of music, including this one. Your comment pretty much fits the definition of slander. Your attack on this piece makes me so mad that I want to vomit and then gouge my eyes out in a fit of total frustration!!!
Your ear needs to start from Mahler.
@@benaraujomusic Why did you have to reply an "I'm offended" comment? Both the original comment and the reply are kinda cringe.
@@Ivan_1791 Because it's pretty obvious that I'm genuinely offended that someone would say something like this about contemporary classical music. And my comment isn't cringe, it's just another way to express my anger.
@@benaraujomusic Getting mad at random people on the internet for such things is cringe dude. You shouldn't care so much about the subjective opinion of someone who probably has no influence in the music community (if it was a big figure I would understand).
