My uncle went to university as my dad worked and funded him. He was choosing subjects etc for his daughter. She went to the most expensive private school. They are nearly about 30, without any achievement and barely got into a good uni.
All 4 of us kids went to the top uni in our state easily and my parents never checked our work etc. we have multiple properties when we were 30. My parents never tell us to invest etc, in fact they tell us not to work so hard 😂😂

    英文部:

    4-5年级 55,000元/学期,一年两个学期。

9:11 the focus of learning a language is "speaking". The whole idea of learning a language is communication. A person who learns to speak fluently is also someone who can read & write well. A person can still write a book after learning enough vocabulary & grammar rules about a language. Like someone who speaks with a foreign accent. Even a person who becomes a famous author like "Malala Yousafzai" from Pakistan who wrote the book "I Am Malala" you find grammatical mistakes. After reading the book you know English is not her first language.

It is kind of a sad story that promo of the two worlds are different: Although China may be negative on US or the west at some degree, it is quite positive in terms of higher Ed; on the contrary, due to the bigotry and systemic propaganda of demonizing everything about China, the decision of going to China is actually quite bold and adventurous to each individual who makes that decision. A lot of time, they receive comments like “are you crazy?”. That being said, anyone from the west who makes the decision to go and explore China makes them to the top. AND Mike is one of them!😅

We have to define "top" and "students", which could be both quite different in Chinese context. Similar to the measurements of learning outcomes, it is somehow subjective. “Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get” Like this famous quote from Forest Gump, you never know what the future has in store for you. Young adults now, more than ever, are under great pressure to decide what they want to do with their lives from very early age, and they often pave their paths based on external(rather than internal) motivations like social or parental pressure. And the school system that is geared towards getting into top universities, rather than helping to find one’s natural talent, often results in great confusion and even regrets for the new uni students. So as someone who kind of been-there, done-that, I want to tell them to be prepared for the unexpected, be open-minded and use every opportunity to know more about themselves and around the world.
