I am from Colombia and my grandfather was supposed to participate, but he was rejected due to some health issues. According to my mom, he lost most of his friends and comrades during this war.

My grandfather fought in the Battle of Old Baldy. He never talked about I only found out after he passed away. My grandmother told me he was cut off during a Chinese human wave attack and they thought he was dead. He made it back from North Korean,Chinese lines rest of his squad was killed.

My uncle, from Colombian batallion: Fabio Rojas, died in Korean war. His name is in a plate in the monument in Busan to the soldiers killed in action. Rest in Peace for all the braves who died in the war. "I have fought three wars, I have commanded and I have seen the best soldiers in the world fighting. I think there is nothing new in terms of heroism and fearlessness, but when I saw the Colombian battalion fight, I saw the greatest and most proud soldiers ever", said Lieutenant General Blackshear Bryan, Commander of the 24th Infantry Division in Korea

Im Colombian i lived in Itaewon south korea for a year. It was AMAZING. The people there remind me so much of Colombians. Very joyious happy people. A place where it is custom to pat the head of wandering korean toddlers as their parents send you their warmest smiles.

Not only that, where currently at a guerrilla crisis, and its been like that for at least 50 years, colombian soldiers never stop fighting, if they dont fight outside, they fight the ELN and the guerrilla disidences here, i say it as a proud colombian and whit all the respect to other countryes

My Grand Father was there, he told me one sad story in the year 2008, before he passed away in 2010, he told me that he saw his school best friend die suddenly from a shot in the head, and he told me that war always leaves scars in the human heart.. I followed his legacy, and I am currently serving In The U.S Army now

My wife grandfather was one of the Colombia soldiers sent there she only remember him in pictures she was very young when he passed away I bet the cold was a very hard one to deal with I don’t anywhere in Colombia that gets as cold as it is in Korea
