@@gyroscope915 Being uninformed doesn't have to mean dumb. And when put on the spot with an unfamiliar subject people can say things that don't make sense out of stress, even if they could've figured out the correct answer given time to logic it out.
@@SH4D0W0733 I would normally agree, but she literally argued against it unprompted lol. She brought up guns in space being stupid and also claimed the reason is because there is no gravity in space which is hilariously wrong. Maybe even better than on earth, because the hot sparks would cool only by radiation rather than also conduction and convection on their way from frizzen to pan, and the pressure differential between the front and back of the bullet would be greater. You might lose your pan powder in zero G though.
I just read up on that, wow. Nothing inherently wrong with recreating horrible things in diorama form as an art piece or commentary or as a museum exhibit, but mass-marketing books and minis of horrific crimes, and portraying genocide as a cool, "edgy" subject for hobbyists to dip their toes in is several steps too far.
@jordanwalsh1691 yeah, I've not bought anything of there's since they pulled that crap, really hope Vallejo sort there shiz out soon otherwise my texture paste options are gonna be pretty minimal!
"Oxygenated gunpowder" I love how shockingly uninformed youtubers are. Ben. All gunpowder is "oxygenated". Charcoal, sulfur, and potassium nitrate. That's gunpowder. The oxygen is in the potassium nitrate. Gun powder would burn in a vacuum.
That's not a youtuber thing, that's just everyone who isn't a gun-pyro nerd or AP/university chem student, and hasn't spent 5+ minutes thinking about how gunpowder works on a chemical level lol
Tom. Tom tom tom tom tom... please tell me that was a joke at Lydia's expense that just fell flat. There's no magic force to make the bullet "Just float away" either. Once propelled it will do it's thing until a greater force acts on it. Really want your mind blown, guns can operate underwater, too. Heavily impeded, but they can.
Very glad that we got Tom & Ben's follow-up to, _"Bullets Don't Float: The Science of Space Guns with Big Lyds"_
I still don't know if she was joking or honestly was dumb

I love the part where tom and ben invent the recoilless rifle
Gunpowder has its own oxidizer. So it does not need oxygen to fire in space.
Never mind: chat got to it first
The Kickstarter Roulette ended the week Lydia broke the gnome. Coincidence? I think not!
They must now break Lydia to restore the roulette!
From now on, it will be Kickstarter Bingo!
Impossible task! Lydia is like a female Andre the Giant, shell SMASH those puny men trying to break her - and not in the good way. ;)

My fears confirmed...
I would have imagined that out of all of the Yogs, Tom and Ben would understand modern weaponry... And maybe a bit more physics.
Can anyone who's actually up to date with the streams confirm if Kickstarter Roulette is truly dead as of August last year?
@@Retr0Whiskey it changed format, a vodgobbo put together a Google sheet with macros to scrape the KS site and populated the links into a table
A viewer has recreated it for them every week now
Theres a spreadsheet a viewer made that collects miniature kickstarters. They still regularly do kickstarter roulette.
i hope its not dead forever.
pour one out to a segment now lost forever.
what have they done...
I think AK Interactive did at one point release/plan to release a mini for Napalm Girl, one of the reasons I will never buy anything from them ever

This oxygen to ignite the gunpowder is so dumb. There aren't any vent holes in the bullet are there?

It was a reference to an earlier stream where Lydia said very confidently that that's how bullets work in space 😂
