So much respect for the bandleaders. Flawless transitions every single time!! I'm always amazed, surely there's a secret code between artist and musician!
ALMOST every time. In the rare times where there is an error, we spend a lot of time finding ways so it doesn't happen again. A lot of the programming and setup is to anticipate any possible situations so there is (hopefully) always a backup solution.
@@ConradAskland Outstanding. This is one of the - if not the most - attention demanding type of performance for a musician. You guys need to be in perfect synchrony with all the choreography and other musicians. My respect
@@VictorAlencarDrums thank you so much. Yes it’s very intense and my adrenaline is always up when running a show. I’m currently bandleader for the Cirque du Soleil ice skating show “Crystal”
Correct. Top keyboard is for Ableton triggers and bottom keyboard is a master controller to play patches. The sticky notes on the top are notes for particularly tricky triggers. I also would add sticky notes for any show changes for that particular show.
Hey, I am a 16 year old who has done music for a couple of years now, what steps would you recommend I take to get to the level that I could be in an industry like this. I am sure it would be extremely difficult, but it truly looks like a wonderful world to be part of. Thank you so much for the work you do :)
The track changed after this and the accordion was removed. We were in the process of integrating the accordion back into the parade but then the tour ended. On my next upcoming Cirque du Soleil show I'll be part of the pre-show musician parade so I'll try to post some clips later this year

Great work! Thank you for sharing this.
I so wish i could have done this show before it was retired. Glad I got to work alongside you on the Breakaway though, Conrad! Hope all is well!
VERY impressive!!!
Thank you Brian!
Amazing job Conrad, I love how you express dynamics in your calls! I assume you use the top keyboard to trigger Ableton Live cues, right?

Do u have a full video? Or full music?
I wouldn't have the rights to release that. These are just excerpts to show a bit of the bandleader vantage point during the show.

Practice and take lessons from good teachers
Why don't you participates at musicians' parade at the beginning?
