"I can only imagine what my skin would look like if I touched this." ***Proceeds to mash it onto his bare ass arm.
Love you Anthony!
if you removed the word 'arm' that would have been a rather shocking statement.
@@Potatobrains_ bwahahahahahahaa
Lmao! I came to say the same thing. 😂
I think he tried to test it on his arm, to see what reactions would it have on his skin. To test if he's really allergic.
I was looking for this comment.
Just curious, what time are you putting your trash can out... asking for a friend. lol
Lmao 😂
I love how you took a big whiff of it right after opening. 😂 The horns turned out sweet!!
I guess he took it from Nerdecrafter. 😂
Hi am a big fan Mira
Well it's a new thing lol gotta know.
Yeeeh. Wouldn't make a habit of that. The vapors can be no bueno for your lung tissues and it won't show up until multiple exposures. It took THREE MONTHS of use before the toxic effect was noticeable and by then it was too late. Small chance to occur, but I'm living proof that it can and does and when it does, it lasts for weeks. And trust me when I tell you you do not want this shit messing with your lungs in a post Covid world. It's been a f'ing nightmare and when it's flaring up, (Have been hospitalized on numerous occasions unable to breathe) and it turns my hands into something that vaguely resembles a deleted scene from a SAW movie. BE SAFE. Were a vapor rated mask when working with two part epoxies and resins. It's worth the precaution.
I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH how slowly this reaction can take place. I used Apoxie Sculpt several times a week for MONTHS before it ever became an issue, but thats different for everybody and once it's there, it's there for life. It took me additional time to even understand what was happening, because I had no reason to suspect the resin I had been using without issue for months, leading me to further accidental exposure. Definitely not trying to scare people away from it, however. It's an incredibly rewarding medium but respect it and handle it as safely as possible. Remember that a lot of the FINER details can be sanded and carved out AFTER its safely cured as well.
That fact that you commented on this and actually watch Ace of Clay makes my day!!
Longtime user here. Some useful tips on how to work with this. I mainly use it for customizing Breyer and artist resincast modelhorses.
- When using gloves: Find a pair that fits like literally like a glove. I see sooo many people with gloves twice the size they really need. Seriously, tight nitrile gloves are the best! Measure across your knuckles and match that measurement to the size. Try several sizes because sometimes comapnies have their own ideas.
- Also: Do not mix more than you need. It goes off semi-fast and is a liiiitttle sticky first. Use a few drops of water to make it smoother.
- When done, place a small piece of plastic bag in each tub, (like 2 x 2 ") on top of the clay and a cube of kitchen sponge that is slightly moist. Moisture will ensure your Apoxie stays pliable and smooth to use.
- When you are a beginner, start with the SMALL tubs and in "Natural " version. The coloured ones actually sortof acts differently. The brown version is... WEIRD. ;-D
- It can be smoothed down using various old brushes and similar tools.
- Wipe EVERYTHING you have used when done, don't let it go down the drain and clog the pipes. it hardens via chemical reaction, so if a decent piece gets lodged in the drains, it'll settle there. ;-D
(Disclaimer: I am a user, not an expert. )
Good tips.
I love Apoxie Sculpt!... Except when i forget to clean it off my tools...
i learned that the hard way too lol :(
I learned that too with my first really nice set of tools :(. I can’t wait to see the dragon come to life. Just a side note: always use older tools when using epoxy, unless you never get distracted easily 😝
Me when I work with acrylic resin in uni’s lab
Esh I hate that part of it other than that I love it
Hey can you sculp the sandworm from Beetle juice for your next video
"I don't really know either"
Me: (cackles in Dollightful and other doll customizers)
Same 😄
... exactly... 🤣🤣🤣
YES
Yes
Same:3
He seems so done with everything and it’s hilarious
**Take all necessary safety precautions when using Apoxie Sculpt or any epoxy clay or product. Refer to the manufacturer for best handling practices. Improper use could result in serious injury.
I am so excited for this next chapter! I have so many awesome things in store for this channel and I can't wait to share them with all of you! Don't forget to check me out on Instagram and Twitter: @aceofclay
U have to be careful with that clay it's kinda toxic watch Mims victims she has two videos on how to use it I u are not u can have a REALLY BAD reaction to it and DON'T SMELL IT. It has Toxic fumes u have to wear a mask and goggles or glasses also latex free gloves when u use it or it will also have a bad reaction so please be careful it's not fun if u get a bad reaction it sucks and hurt a LOT😫

Ace of Clay: "Wow I hate this clay I never really want to use it a bunch in the future, it's garbage."
*proceeds to do some research on it rather than diving straight into it and letting the material overwhelm him*
Also Ace of Clay: "Y'know, I really love this, it's sooooo smooth, very nice. It's so satisfying - I can't wait to use it again in the future."
It's always tough when you step out of your comfort zone and try new materials and methods, but I'd say this time around you did great! I'd love to see a full development of this dragon, but bigger builds like that can be overwhelming. Just take it one step at a time, even one piece at a time, and you'll gradually get there.
I really like that he give us both his first impression and then what he thinks after some research.
Acted like a soy drinking non binary if you ask me.
i do the same thing. i expect myself to be able to just pick up something new and go with it without taking the time to learn or pick up any tips about it. i can understand his first thoughts and frustration with it. the good thing about him is that his work turned out better than mine would have. i say great job!
@@Fatpumpumlovah2 🙄
you need vaseline to make not sticky
I use Apoxie clay exclusively! Love this stuff! It's a challenge at first and def requires some research and prep, but the end results are amazing. I combine it with wood carvings and all kinds of other stuff. It's so worth learning. WARNING: Do not sand this stuff without a proper respirator because the dust will kill you.
Any recommendations for a respirator? Ngl I have hypochondria and it's what prevents me from pursuing crafts like this :/
You should post your stuff
Woah. Such a creative and handsome guy! 😍
“there’s no garbage can over there....” 🤣🤣🤣
I laughed so hard at him revealing his little secret lack of trash can.
@@ArcaneGinger me too! Had to pause so I didn’t miss anything 🤣
@@souders4428 the lean in, while he said it, to help inform that it was a secret was fantastic.
Its cool cuz now we can see his reations and personality in real time instead of just the voice over
Yes
I love how Anthony is including his face more. I also think his sarcasm is coming out more which I really like!
Keep up the good work Anthony!
Hi there.
Yessss full dragon sculpture would be epic. I love ur videos and all your sculptures they’re absolutely amazing
Awesome sculpt as always.
Would love to see your take on cthulu
Omg yes. So much yes.
As someone who has watched a LOT of doll customizing videos on RUclips, I'm sitting here, five minutes in, intensely staring at the screen and saying through clenched teeth, "GET. WATER. TO. USE. WITH. THE. APOXY!!!"
I was thinking the same thing! GET SOME WATER!
Or Talcum Powder
WATERRRR
Same. I just kept yelling at my phone WATER
Meeee
I recommend watching Dollightful's videos who has a ton of projects done using epoxy sculpt!
"If you want this, it will be in the trash outside of my house tomorrow"

*You haven't told us where you live :D*
Challenge accepted xD jk
People gonna mob and fight.
He said Wednesday and he uploaded Friday........
Hmmmm Idn
I don't know
Yes please more on this dragon.
“Fritos dipped in chemicals” 😂
The funny thing is, I've actually used this stuff and that's a perfect description of what it smells like 😂

100% accurate. lol
When you do the wings in the future you should use cosclay so they will be flexible. Super cool dragon, I love it!
Just as with concrete, epoxy does not "air-dry"; it cures chemically.
And you can sand it so you really don’t need to be great with sculpting
This dragon looks so cool! Great job, can't wait to see the rest of him!
That is brilliant!! I love his cheeky look and can't wait to see him with wings, arms and painted!!
hiii. i’m so excited to see your new content for this year!
Anxious to see the video where to complete this dragon - The head looks great. I am glad that you found a good way to work with this medium.
Awesome! I love working with Apoxie Sculpt so I’m excited to see how your dragon progresses.
Love your work! You inspired me into sculpting again
I love how you show your prep for this sculpture at the beginning👌🏼😊
Thanks Anthony! This video was exactly what I needed today! The first bit was hilarious because it's exactly what I'm like when I'm trying something outside of my comfort zone.. and the whole sticky glove thing- just like a cat with tape on it's paw. So relatable! 😅😂 Super excited to see the whole big sculpture done!!
Definitely NEED to sculpt the whole body! Can't wait to see it completed!
You're gonna need a bigger room if you make the WHOLE dragon. Looks mint!
OMG yes please finish him!!! You are so talented. Everything you touch turns into art.
I lost it when you tossed the first piece aside saying "if you want this, it'll be in the trash". 😂😂😂😂
Anthony that is a really awesome, handsome Dragon head. I love it!
Good to see you in this new year ... Can't wait to see all your new creations ... Love your work as always ...
I’d definitely love to see this scaley boi finished, giving me Spyro reignited art vibes! I love the character designs from that game and follow one of the artists, it’s beautiful!
Dragon! Dragon! You also crack me up when you do something new then love it.
I have a lot of respect for you after watching this video. You gave it a chance anyway and took the time to learn how to use the product properly. Thanks for taking the time to make this video and share it with us.
Wonderful sculpt!!! Great to see you venture out in the new year!
I'm really digging the double camera. It's refreshing to see some more of your personality coming out in your videos!
"I can only imagine what my skin would look like if I touched it"
**touches it**
"We'll see what that looks like tomorrow :D"
Won't be tomorrow. Will be months down the road, unfortunately.
And it will look like horrifically dry and rashy skin covered in small/large cuts and lesions that crack and open every time you flex your fingers. The resin causes almost a moisture resistant barrier on the surface of your skin as well, so lotions/vasoline/etc... are almost completely ineffective. And thats ANY area of your skin thats exposed to even the vapors, because at that point, the toxic reaction has already triggered. Won't be easily washed off either and can effect anywhere else on your body that you touch with the affected area (my left eyelid practically fused shut for a week on light vapor exposure and yeah, it was covered in cuts as well).
@@vaevictusdeus that didn't happen to me at all
Yes! Cant wait to see a full large dragon sculpture!
“There’s no garbage can over there.“
😂😂😂💙💙
dope lookin dragon head man. can't wait for the full thing
I have never used Super Sculpey but I do use apoxie, and it’s really funny because I had the same reactions he had haha
Epoxy putty/ clays are an awesome thing to work with. I’m excited to see the finished dragon.
The start of 2021 on the whole looks very promising... Especially when it has a big ass dragon ringing it in! 8D
Cracking me up. The grossed out face is priceless. Guess it's got a icky texture. I'm huge on texture if it feels weird I won't touch it
Now that's a dragon I can take home to momma
Would love to follow the progress of this little guy. A mini serie is always fun, especially if there's no guaranteed duedate. it'll be a treat.
"I don't know... I don't know about this, everyone..."
Me, waking up every Monday morning.
I'm sooo excited about the future episodes with the dragon!!
7 minutes in and you had me laughing so hard!! I could only picture me reacting that way!! 😂♥️👍 Thanks (again) for letting us see when you have problems and how you solve them!! Great to see when you tubers are real ppl!!
Dragons are my favourite! Can't wait to see the finished result! 👏👏❤🐲
You should pose him sitting like a gargoyle sense it’s gonna be hard as a rock
I'm looking forward to this being a multi-video thing, since everything will be so big! I'm excited to see the progress!
When you're done with the Dragon, you should make an orc from Lord of the rings. :)
Ooo! Good for you for switching up formats! And materials!!! And size!!! I am fascinated by the new clay. Interested in seeing the big sculpt for sure!
Somebody said it's like sculpting with chewing gum. I so recognize the : I expect to be good at something I've never tried. Ugh...
This looks incredible! I can’t wait to see the full sculpture when he’s complete. Can’t believe I’ve only discovered your channel now, time to binge watch!
The big scales on a snakes belly are called scutes, I imagine it would be the same with a dragon. (Edit- I just looked it up, they are in fact called scutes. Sk-yoot)
I was so glad to see you bounce back in this video! I love working with Apoxie Sculpt, and I got so excited to see this pop up! I could relate to your first reaction so much (except for the allergies part), but it was so good to see you come back with a new perspective and really challenge yourself! Wonderful video, love it!
Most of what I do is various life-sized ghouls and goblins for haunted houses, and Apoxie Sculpt is great for chonking in large structural details on extant bases... like say you had a big ol' plastic skull and you wanted to add horns or whatever prior to the skinning process. It's great because it's, like, halfway between a sculpting medium and glue and just gives you a really durable frame without needing to be baked (lots of times, your armatures for haunt projects are foam or plastic). Finer components like teeth are best done in polymer clay then glued in later. OH! And epoxy putties are great for making custom gears and components for animatronics too! But yeah... just a totally different beast with (for me anyway) totally different applications from polymer clay. I'm pretty amazed you managed to produce an entire sculpture with fine detailing out of it, but hey... fantastic job!
I’m pumped to see the giant completed version
Anyone else hoping Anthony makes the rest of the dragon soon? The suspense is intense!!!
I'd also love to see you make a fox or kitsune!!!
Yay! BIG dragon! Would love to see him/her complete with arms, tail, wings, the works!
Sometime can you please make a KRAMPUS sculpture? Also I love your channel and you inspire me so much
He did one of those about a year ago. If you haven't seen it, it's here.
ruclips.net/video/V2W4BO8UJUM/видео.html
I love how you changed it up to where you are trying different sculpting mediums. It's fun. I cant wait to see the completed dragon
I wanna see him finished please. He looks so cool lol
He does!
I love the idea of the giant dragon sculpture. I can't wait for the next video about that dragon.
Could we get like a room tour of where you sculpt we you hit 500k
This is what I love about You Tube, you can research and learn how to create so many things and hacks, etc. So many creative and talented people (like you) demonstrate how to make things. Thanks for sharing and glad this worked out for you. Oh yes, would love to see you finish your awesome dragon.
"There's no garbage can over there" 🤣🤣🤣
I love the more chatty and laid back feeling of this video! So fun seeing your personality
Same
"I hope I'm not allergic to this..." *touches it to skin*
Now THAT is some crap I would do...lmao!
You don't look like you feel well already...
I am looking forward to seeing you create a whole dragon with this clay! It seems to be just the thing to get it done! Hang in there Anthony! I am glad that you kept going and he looks great and you figured out how to work with the clay, You can do this! Giant Dragon sculpture here you come!
I use Apoxie Sculpt in my projects for my shop. After three sessions, I left the gloves behind. It's a little sticky to begin with, but I do not have any reactions or complications by using my hands. I'll merely smell like roasted pumpkin seeds for a while. I think you're actually allergic to it!
Happy New Year, Anthony!! Absolutely fabulous sculptured dragon head.. Can’t wait to see you sculpt the rest....
💜💛💙🧡🤍🤎💚❤️
Your initial discomfort and lack of enthusiasm the first day is something I think many people struggle with when starting something new. It's nice to see that you kept going and didn't give up after your initial bad impressions. After working with the material more, I wonder if you'll end up liking it more than polymer clay? 👀
Ooooooo!!!!I can’t wait to see you create the whole dragon and he will be big!!!! I’m excited ace!!!
Every time you said "Siri" Siri interrupted the video to ask what I wanted.
Excited to see the finished Dragon🐉
Before the teeth and lips went on, i was like, "Barney is a dinosaur?"
Well yeah, what did you think Barney was?
Ha ha, that is exactly what he is you silly goose
lmao that's exactly the lyric of the theme song too
Love your dragon bust. Looking forward to seeing you finish the dragon. Maybe you could do more large sculptures in the future. Stay safe, Annette
When he smacked the clay I lost it 😂😂😂
a full dragon sculpture would be awesome.
Been waiting to see what this was ever since your tweet the other day😁
making the whole dragon would be FUN
amazing video as always!!
I love ceramic clay! It was the first thing I used when I started sculpting as a freshman in hs. The only reason I recently made the switch to polymer clay is because of covid I don't have easy access to a kiln with everything being closed :/
Edit: My pfp is a Jason mask key chain I made with cosclay :)
Love your work I like how the skies looked when you put them on and I’m super excited to see all of the dragon completed and painted
He kinda looks like a grown up version of Spyro.
My first thought was Spyro: the snyder cut
THANK YOU! love the idea of doing multi step large scuplt. Looking forward to the next video
New quotation: Respect the Clay. Lol
Full dragon yes please....So far it’s amazing I can’t wait to see the entire thing together it will be massive
“Magic Sculpt” also works well. You need to figure out the time frame because it changes in consistency as you are working with it. You did great!
I love this sideways commentary of troubleshooting and exploration.
its a side we don't often get to see - and its refreshing
"I think I might be having an allergic reaction to this stuff?"

I am so excited to see the full body!! I think the head looks awesome and a huge sculpture would be a really cool project to see you do!
