  • Here is a first look at G-S Products' new automated side loader that hit the market fairly recently.
The new "long reach" Collecstar boasts an impressive reach and a narrow lift system. The full eject body is also included in this spectacular unit.
I'm overall impressed by the concept. It's been one that I've imagined for years, and seeing it on the market is very cool indeed.
Enjoy this first look that this beauty!
    Special thanks to the driver!

Wow talk about thinking outside the box. Impressive design and combo with the truck. Lots of swing out but driver looks to handle it well. The color really makes this thing pop. Great work here.

This is a very creative design. The swing is insane, but the driver was well trained. This was only his 2nd day on his own. Thank you.

Great video! I had a Freightliner G-S Products CollecStar truck pick up my garbage last Thursday and it was still in the red and white Rizzo color with the GFL stickers attached to it. Looks like GFL Environmental is still trying to get some of their trucks re-painted and fully converted over to their company colors.

What a peculiar design! G-S already builds some of the most "abstract" truck bodies but this is really something else. Lots of swing out when he dumps cans, though. It's almost as bad as, if not worse, than an Autoreach. I like the reach, though! The reach is pretty impressive! It'll be interesting to see how the pros and cons weigh out as this truck gets used more and gets worn out, particularly on the rails and joints. Especially since it's a new design. Great work as always!

I feel that this is a very interesting yet overcomplicated product. I'm curious of its lifespan and the productivity years down the road.

Looks pretty sweet. But I can also see how wear will take its toll on this thing. Cool concept. I would be cool to see just the platform the gripper slides up and down on dump, like MSL tippers do. That way you have less kick out and less wear on the cylinder/hinge portion. Can't wait to see where they take it, design wise.

Kind of like the Amrep N3 arm? That'd be a good design. Curious where G-S will take this concept and others.

This looks like something I would make out of Legos and be very frustrated with. I guess that's the price of originality.

Hey, it's a new ASL on the market. It has a lot of potential, there's just some kinks that need to be ironed out.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew there was something different about this G&S and indeed there is, brand new lifter design! Has this succeeded the 8000 model or is this just a longer reach version with the telescopic slide beam? Looks fairly simple enough how it works, kind of like a Bridgeport - arm goes up and swings over, swings down and drops. Really rocks the truck around when he gives the cart and extra shake or two! Gotta love some residents who put the carts right under or near obstructions like 1:25, good on him for avoiding tree trimming and putting it back in the same spot anyway. Real bright scheme for these GFL trucks, got fleet number all over the truck too, front of the bumper on both sides, back corner of the body and tailgate. Thanks for the share, cool to get a look at one of these and learn of their existence.

This is offered in addition to the 8000, to add more verity to the product line. You should have seen the rocking from driving behind the truck. There's a few of these trucks out across the US, but we probably have the most G-S units here.

Well its definitely...interesting. Talk about swing-out though, jesus. The branches really kill him there. I definitely feel like the design could be improved if a) the driver could (or would?) lift and 'dump' at the same time, saving time on the cycle a bit or b) only 'dump' the top portion of the arm, similar to the N3 tho perhaps Amrep patented that entire concept. I'm definitely interested to see where G-S takes this concept. Is this intended to replace the previous design or an additional model, if you know? Any idea how the driver(s) feels about it?

The branches here really kill any ASL. The driver tried doing that, and I spent 5 minutes helping him clean that mess up. It looks like this will be offered with the 8000. Hopefully there will be some fine tuning with this design. I asked the driver, he's only driven this truck as his automated and hasn't operated anything else, so I wasn't really able to compare feedback. He said it is a decent unit though.

    thing

It's a nice truck, yes, but idk wtf they were thinking making the arm like that. It's slow and you have to really look out for your surroundings or something bad will happen. I still think it's cool though.

    • @garbageproductions1
      @garbageproductions1  7 лет назад

It's pretty much autoreach and bridgeport. It looks like there is a lot of room for bad things to happen.
