Yeah there are many species called "barbel" all over the world. Our technical name for our "barbel" is a Sharp Toothed Catfish or Clarias gariepinus

I grew in kzn and can say for a fact the weather is very deceitful. Theres absolutely no guarantees. You usualy get 4 seasons in 1 day. Which is why i say the weather needs severe changes for the fishing to be disturbed by weather. Wish you have a better experience next time.

I'm not sure of the name of it. I bought it an sowed it together about 10 or 11 years ago. I got it from a hardware store and I think it's called shade cloth? It's plastic and just makes life more comfy with out killing the grass
