I’ve had my turntable sitting around for 4 years, thinking it was broken, but hoping I’d be able to fix it one day. I had NO IDEA it would be so simple. Literally danced and cheered for joy when it began to spin again. Thank you so much for your video!
Same with me, was just the drive belt. I was on the verge of buying a new one, found the belt off. I didn't know how to properly place it back on. Thank you DADLIFE! You saved me about $149.00 for a new record player.
I moved across country with the same one and I had the same issue! I found the belt wrapped up in the middle and just had to untangle it and reapply it to the tray and put it around the copper piece. Thank GOD I found this video! Thank you so much! My turn table is back and running and I can enjoy my Beach Boys on vinyl again!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, I just bought one secondhand & i thought it just didnt work. the belt had been taken off & left underneath by the previous owner. works fantastically now, thank you so much
From a dad to another one thank you!! This was super helpful I was having some invites and they want it to see the turntable working sooooo thanks it worked
YO YOU JUST SAVED MY LIFE! 😭😭😭 thank you! Music is so important to me. We just moved to a new home and this happened to me, I was hoping to find the cure. You came through! Appreciate this
Been extremely frustrated for the last few weeks having my records spin initially but then stop after anywhere from 30 seconds to 2 songs. Audio technica is unreachable, ignored my calls and emails, but this 5 minute video fixed it all. Appreciate you!
I just got a used Audio Technica from an online store and noticed that the turntable had dismantled itself a little in shipping. Thanks to your video, I was able to fix the problem with minimal effort. Thank you so much for sharing this tip! Now I just need to wait for my speakers to come in....
You sir just saved my ass, I borrowed my dad’s turntable, I was about to crank some music when I realized it wouldn’t work, I was looking for repair shops, worried that I might even have to get a new one, then your helpful video came along, thanks a lot!
You just saved me dude, thanks a lot. I actually sticked the rupperband around the wrong thing (silver thing instead of the golden one, the motor's). It couldn't work like that. Thank you !!!!
I moved into my college appartment and took my record player back from winter break. I was sad i thought my turntable was broken but thankfully my drive belt had fallen into my box of records! so easy to fix! Thank you 10/10 helpful
Thank you so much!!! I thought I was going to have to buy a new one. My turntable had the ribbon off and following your video did the trick to get it working agajn
I had my belt on both the golden and silver spools and it wouldn't spin without help. Thank you for the video, I've got in on just the gold and now it's perfect!
My toddler had a tantrum and shoved our turntable off the entertainment stand. I suspected the belt had come loose and this tutorial made it super easy to fix. Thanks so much!
Thanks so much. This did it for me as well. The belt was off of the silver platter and was instead wrapped around the base and I had no idea how it was supposed to be. So, I moved the belt to the platter and put it around the motor and my daughter is super happy again.
Thank you for this!! It was taking me a while to figure out how to fix my issue and reading the User Manual wasn't helpful. My record player is fixed!!
Dad life! Thank you for that super easy fix! My player would NOT spin, and Zeppelin sounds funny turning it by hand. 1 suggestion! I pulled the rubber band through the rectangle and just looped it over the brass thing.
Just want to say thank you for this! It worked ;) My step dad was about to buy another one before I said, let me try to fix it and I found your video!! Genius thanks a lot.
Hi Jay. So pleased it helped you. I too had a moment thinking mine was a goner at first!. Hence I decided to post this. Enjoy listening to your music !
This video made fixing my belt incredibly quick, honestly happy I took a stab at fixing the player. One strange thing about mine: the belt was gone without a trace. Not sure how it would have fallen out, I'm admittedly a bit puzzled.
If your belt is broken you can find a replacement for about $10 from various sellers including Amazon. Just google "replacement drive belt Audio Technica AT-60"
thanks, this works, but you don't need a butter knife, which risks cutting it. i just used my finger, gently pulled on the band before placing it down and it worked easily.
Little me thought it was broken, i payed money for new belt and stuff thinking that's the problem, and then it still wasn't working, until i see this and remind myself where the fuckin belt goes. Oh my God.
hi! thank you for this video! i just purchased this record player and i was freaking out that it didnt work but glad i found ur video! ive fixed it and my vinyls are playing now. but it is really soft and i can hear a lil static w the really soft audio. would you happen to know how to fix this issue?😭
Hi. Tricky to answer but here are some ideas. It sounds like it could be an issue with your cable or connection between the deck and your amp. Check all the cables and connections. Also make sure there is no fluff collected on the needle as that can cause muffled sound

Ha ha you're the first to say you danced for joy. Love that. Glad it worked out for you !
I know right! I was able to make it even easier by⁹ pulling the band through the rectangle first, then flip it over the little thing
Same with me, was just the drive belt. I was on the verge of buying a new one, found the belt off. I didn't know how to properly place it back on. Thank you DADLIFE! You saved me about $149.00 for a new record player.

Thank You Sir! I was trying to adjust the speed on mine and thought I broke it. Have a nice day!

Dad life! Thank you for that super easy fix! My player would NOT spin, and Zeppelin sounds funny turning it by hand. 1 suggestion! I pulled the rubber band through the rectangle and just looped it over the brass thing.
