Testament that if you have talent (and not just a pretty face), you can weather the storms and scandals to emerge arguably the most successful / famous Miss America ever.

The first black Miss America and the first to resign the title regarding the Penthouse magazine nude pictures. However 30 years later the Miss America CEO, Sam Haskell offered her a public apology during Miss America 2016. pageant.

Not just “nude.” The photos were explicit porn.
Technically, Ms. Vanessa Williams had knowingly violated the Miss America rules on 2 counts: 1) she knew when she entered and signed their contract that she had the very explicit unpublished nude and pornographic photos in her past (not just nude, they were depictions of her having oral sex with another woman, still viewable online) and 2) she knew she’d had an abortion in her teens, and the pageant required contestants to “never have been pregnant.” Among a long list of other sexist requirements.
However, those rules were misogynistic and dumb anyway. Good for her for proving that shit doesn’t matter one bit as to what a woman is worth or what she can accomplish in life. True class. 👍🏼

Those “rules” weren’t misogynistic nor dumb, they were spot on important and showed the integrity and morals of a woman! She broke many rules and lied about it too, and you’re saying that’s ok? So, according to you, woman should do porn and be promiscuous as much as possible and still get to win any high-status competition they’re in?
      Yes, that’s a great idea.
Can you imagine a mother/father telling their daughter that? “Honey, we want to to be free to do porn and have abortions because we believe anything goes, there are no morals or rules/ consequences to what you want to do in life. 😐
