not sure which is cheaper where you're from, but i'd say either Holbein or Winsor & newton's could work, they are the most professional pigment-heavy gouache i've worked with.
@@snulsim7245 yeah, but for a person who wants to study a medium, expensive stuff can be a bit of a pressure, because they want to try it, and dont want to think before using the medium alot because its experimenting. When its something expensive, you feel that youre wasting your expensive medium. And if it doesnt turn out good, theyd think that its a waste. But buying a w&n gouache is my dreammm
@@_Cloudist_ I totally understand where you're coming from. I wish u get your drram gouache as well! :) Though, let me just say IMO and fyi the Himi Miya are better than the Art Rangers Gouache (based on my experience, knowledge and research). If you don't like Himi Miya in jelly cups, they have them available in tubes, but it costs more.
Honestly I dont think you were "talking too much". I like having artist videos in the background as I work on my own peices and I'd rather listen to them talk about their work and what their doing vs. listening to just music. It helps me be more productive
I'm so happy that it's appreciated 😭i literally put so much of my time into making these videos and just the fact that you said this makes me so happy ❤️❤️❤️🥺🥲
OMG we are using the same kind of paper but I'm so desperate with it! Luckily I found your video for inspiration! I almost put the paper away and go back to my hot-pressed ones.
hi!!! could you PLEASEEE^__^ make a video about lighting and shadow. i really LOVE the way you paint and make the lights, its so beautiful!! its okay if you cant make it
Absolutely stunning, and such an inspiration! I have been dabbling with watercolors a lot lately since gouache is a struggle for now, so this really makes me want to continue trying!
You have such a beautiful hand and vision for color! I struggle so much with color mixing, your choices are so bold and well executed. Also, I'm crazy about Crimson Peak
Thank you for making this video. I absolutely love Crimson Peak and you definitely captured the imagery. Wonderful painting. I don't feel like you "talked too much" for this video. It was great to understand what you thought about the materials that you used and thank you again for taking the time to make this video.
Oh my gosh i really really love your artworks and its very calming to watch i follow you in Instagram and your artworks are the best and your gouache tutorials and speed paints really helped me cause i'm still a beginner on using himi gouache but hopefully with your art videos i can soon make progress in my art too
Like both the painting, and the one reason that pushed you to paint it. Most people first paint in very low grade watercolors to get a feel for them. They develop instincts that won't translate well when shifting to more graphic arts like gouache. Oil painting is much near to your first choice's of watercolor, as is Acrylic is to gouache painting, even though some colors have greater hiding qualities than other's. Where gouache is very closely related to egg-tempera which is customarily done on sized or primed panels, like untempered masonite with light sandings in between, a great many watercolor papers will not get near that fineness of surface. Hot-press Illustration board from some place be nearer to what you want. Many folks struggle with gouache since it must be done delibetately, and with a specific output in mind, but it at least permits lighter tones over a far darker one with great ease if its left to dry. Some people have great success by doing the build-up of depth in stages, permitting its inherent opacity to overcome the troubles with hues becoming so muddy with over working in spots. Just a few suggestions is all. Have decade's of material knowledge from having sold artist supplies, while using most everything I sold in private. Love the movie as well, even though many quiver from the fright of the story. Lovely work.
Hey Girl, I was watching the movie Crimson Peak, this painting instantly came to my mind! It was some beautifully made dresses in that movie. Beautiful painting by the way, did you get the idea from the movie? Never mind lol.;-)

not sure which is cheaper where you're from, but i'd say either Holbein or Winsor & newton's could work, they are the most professional pigment-heavy gouache i've worked with.
Holbein is the more affordable of the two here. I don't even see that many W&N sets solf here, mostly tubes because they're so expensive!
@@hambot art rangers are very cheap and work generally very good. They might come out a bit watery. But mixing them will make em good
@@_Cloudist_ both Holbein and WS are better. Though, that's cheaper
