Oohhh...to do that type you have to pull the hail guard and pull the layers apart. Trash can build up over time between to layers and cause alr flow issues. If you wash the coil on your condenser often you shouldn't have to worry about that. Just make sure you have water pushing through both layers while you are doing your cleaning. If water is pushing through then your not blocked

If it is tubing with the tinsel on it like I think your talking about, absolutely. Just rinse it real well.
Amazon has the coil gun today for $97 and the cleaning fluid for $43. Not inexpensive.
No it is not inexpensive, but it is a good investment for someone that is trying to cut down on up keep cost of their air conditioning.
