lol no 100% popping not only about the move also about the flava, that girl still not both of it, and frentick just doing a really really beginning foundation combination in popping.
I think the contemporary dancer did better this time but the choreo she showed him seemed very tough for a beginner so that might be a bit unfair. Anyways it's always nice to see how secure these dancers are in their own field and then how relatable they are when trying something new!
i think she did that on purpose to really give him a feel of contemporary. so much of it is movements through your core and knowing how to find your balance in so many odd shapes, that if she gave him something easy he wouldn@have felt it. plus it wouldnt have been interesting if she gave him something simple. plus the man's choreo wasnt that easy either.
@@tonguepop9453 frantick choreo is basicly the first day really basic routine in popping foundation, he basicly just like " ow ok i guess i try doing simple thing".
Yeah there's no movement that's hard per se, it's just that the way you texture and do breathing in contemporary is significantly different from what you'd do in popping, whereas she's probably done more texturing that's similar to popping in her dancing. Like you don't do a lot of sweeping or falling in popping, but you do sometimes do popping-like isolations in contemporary, depending on what kind.
He did such a good job !! WOW!! Despite him not doing the contemporary piece in contemporary principles , he still did it so good and in his own way which looked incredible
I LOVE this series. I think its so important to show professionals learning something totally new and feeling out of their element and not doing it “perfectly”. It connects dancers of all levels.
That would be awesome huh?? Will talk to the team about it! It seems like many of y'all want to see this happen, and we're always going to try to make what y'all want.
I like when she said that each person might have their own interpretation of the same style or movement but is not necessarily wrong, is just each person's body and mind are unique. The second routine was lit, damn after that I wanna learn popping!
this series is great! :D but I've noticed a trend with gender... maybe next time you could try find a male contemporary dancer and a female hip hop dancer just to show some diversity to those girls/boys who may want to try other styles :)
I´m a dancer of both styles so It was so nice to watch this video and I relate to what both of them looked like when watching each dance style with a different backround perspective
I've done both before in school, and i gotta say contemporary was pretty tough for me but still managed to do it! Learning different styles are pretty neat!
4:25 the moment you realise they're moving as if the record is made of photos put together but it actually is a ongoing video of actual motion... Awesome
Her piece was TOUGH on my man right there but he went there and tried and delivered, and this is the spirit! Also, their popping piece together after was just amazing, the way he leads her and her commitment with the fun they were having made it joyful to watch. Another banger from STEEZY!
Contemporary lessons on steezy🥺I’d cry of happiness. It’s near impossible to find classes that teach contemporary technique and the foundations for my older age.
@@SahiPie I live in an area with not many people, the only dance places near me offer classes based on age. If you are 6-10 you go in beginner, where as if you are 18 and up are meant for the advanced classes. stuff like this! I can’t go to advanced with no prior knowledge, but I can’t go to beginner because of age.
I figured she would kill the popping by watching how she hit the moves in her contemporary piece, but he did that contemporary piece so well with his own flare
when you watched this and the ballet vs hip hop videos and wish they added ballet and contemporary to steezy... and now they actually have and i just found out today, i’m so excited
One thing that really made me respect contemporary dancers was me realizing that contemporary isn’t considered “cool”. If you look at hip hop, breaking, popping, krump, these all would be put under the category of “cool”. if you dance in any of those, you’re cool. Contemporary is a lot different in the emotion it conveys and I feel a lot more vulnerable when showing friends a slow house (not contemp but it the closest thing I’ve down)piece about love then a breaking set😂 just my thoughts tho
Any tradition African dance from a specific an country in Africa or Afro beats as a broad term vs another cultural dance from a different country or culture
I actually really liked how Boogie did the contemporary piece. He couldn’t hit all the moves but I still think he did very good and put his own style on it
wow they both killed eachothers styles but i have to admit .....cierra smashed that popping routine ...i didnt see that coming
Some contemporary moves have some popping in them even isolation. But she slayed it.
@@asajirehgracel6847 damn......I didn't know that... Thanks for the info 😊

❤
@@asajirehgracel6847 that’s what I was going to say😂
You should add contemporary lessons to the steezy studio; I would love to take those.
Sameee
Ok, Stezzy, you add the contemporary lessons and we all buy a subscription, deal?
We'll do our best to make this happen!
@@steezystudio Yaaaaaa 🙌🙌🙌 You guys are the best! 💛
💯 ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
He did great but she KILLED IT. Gurl whuut if she said she had done popping for a year, I would have believed her
🔥
They did great! I had no idea that contemporary instructors use sound to teach movements too! Very cool!
ikr she looked natural

It really wasn't super contemp tho. No hard technique, it was pretty easy.

Yeah! I repeated it a bunch of times, it should be it's own style.
There's something about Contemporary dance that makes it look so beautiful. The dancer was so soft and wide but also had that "oomf" in dancing. Wow.
Okay but the middle of the contemporary routine was WAY tough
🔥
Exactly
Feel like her style of contemporary dancing has some hip hop influence so I wasn’t surprised she killed it. He did a pretty good job too. Great video!
they look like a father and his daughter vibing together, so cutee!!!
does this mean Steezy gonna have contemporary routines soon?!
We'll see what we can do 😁
They were both amazing! She killed it and with him, it's like he took the choreo into another style and the way he danced just made sense
I love how he was comfortable making some of the contemporary moves a little more simple because in turn it looked purposeful
I LOVE this series. I think its so important to show professionals learning something totally new and feeling out of their element and not doing it “perfectly”. It connects dancers of all levels.
Would love to see a beginner contemporary program on Steezy!
That would be awesome huh?? Will talk to the team about it! It seems like many of y'all want to see this happen, and we're always going to try to make what y'all want.

I'm literally a contemporary and popping dancer, so happy with the video 😍❤️
Same here!! Popper-comtemp dancers unite! 😝☺️🙌
0:06 where's Clay??! I can't see him
Right? Like I only see his face??
oh god its just a head!!!
😂😂😂
I love the contrast they had for the contemporary part it looked so goodddd🥵
Imagine either house dance or locking vs jazz dance concept.
My Biggest flex is I met Boogie Frantick before 😎
wait omg their dynamics are so cute
I just love this format of video ! It's so interesting to see the dancers learning others type of moves. Keep up the great work :)
Wow I was genuinely smiling so hard watching Cierra and Frantick doing the popping piece together
wow they both killed the pieces. I loved Boogie's take on the contemporary piece.
I've done both before in school, and i gotta say contemporary was pretty tough for me but still managed to do it! Learning different styles are pretty neat!
4:25 the moment you realise they're moving as if the record is made of photos put together but it actually is a ongoing video of actual motion... Awesome
The chemistry between them is crazy
They did great! I had no idea that contemporary instructors use sound to teach movements too! Very cool!
I'm in love with their piece! Both did amazing on their part and I'm loving the diversity Steezy studio shows.
so much fun seeing power in someone's strengths
I love when a dancer can adjust to the best of their ability.
Popping vs locking pleasee!!! I would love to see a locker and a popper learn each others style!!
Contemporary and popping are much more similar than I thought
They are so amazing together no matter what they dance. Although obviously they're both super skilled in their own styles, I loved every second of it
That was beautiful! Such a great pairing with both the dancing and their approaches.
when i was 14 years old i was fascinated by boogies battles. the man is a legend 🤘🏽
This is giving me a square is a rectangle but a rectangle is not a square vibes

The popping choreo was hella vibe and funky! The contemporary choreo is cool! Love both!
Oohhh this gonna be good
I know! I’m excited!

as a dancer, I love how similar dance styles are and how different they are too and that's the beauty of all the different styles
Ooooo, very inspiring! I love how they gel together and the words of wisdom from Boogie Frantick at the end!
I love her facial expression at 4:25! ⚡️
It could be so nice if steezy started having ballet, contemporary, modern kind of dance classes!
