Finally got my tree branches cut using my new saw ruclips.net/user/postUgkx84IcU5pbZd1Qrz8u4-YRLmJax7kdRi7B , and it was effortless. Then tackled taking pallets apart by just cutting through the nails. Zip Zip, like butter, took no time at all! Absolutely love that you just push a button to change the blade, so quick and easy. I chose cordless because of all the outside projects I need to do, and most are too far to extend an extension cord to. Incredibly lightweight, and easy to handle. I will be using this all the time. There is a reason they call them Sawzalls , because they literally saw all the things you need cut. Once you buy one you'll kick yourself for not doing it sooner ~ Just make sure and buy the right blades for the job you want to tackle. The blades are not expensive, and there are lots of various multi-packs available.
The thing i like about the WORX brand is that they listen to their customers. They now have 20v batteries with power indicators on the back. Most of my tools are WORX, and since all the ones I own use the same type of batteries, it makes it easier to keep working with the tool you need. It may be mostly a DIYer's brand, but to me it's one of the best and most affordable!
I've had one issue where I needed to get some customer service from WORX. It was a great experience and they quickly solved my problem. Their new pro series line trimmer I recently reviewed is amazing.
Hi, I am new here & the saw World too. Can a blade make smooth cuts for my cellophane plastic rolls/gift wrap paper rolls/ kraft paper rolls ? Thanks @MarkThomasBuilder
I love this saw! Used this to cut down and cut up 20+ overgrown bushes and then to cut the roots on massive yew stumps to dig them out (and so much more).
I bought one.... I needed a saw in general for woodworking. Most of my lumber is cut at the store due to having a small car so I didnt really need a circular saw. I went with this because I also needed a reciprocating. I have used it just a little as a jig saw but I just finished cutting down 8 overgrown evergreen trees. My brother in law had previously lent me his dewalt, but this is a good pound lighter. When you are using it for 4 hours as a time, that one pound makes a difference. Did have to change the battery once, but I have lots due to keeping worx as my sole brand of tools. I am not doing construction but small just around the house stuff.... couldnt be happier And I am not paid or compensated to say any of this.
@@MarkThomasBuilder I am a new homeowner and never had tools.... I started with the hydroshot and weed eater. I havent used either much yet due to buying at the end of fall. I also bought the impact driver and drill driver both of which I have used a tad. Also have the blower (air) that came with all the attachments. I buy all of them with the battery even though they share because it is more expensive to buy the battery seperate. Since mostly I will be a piddler, i think I will never have to buy a battery... Btw, while I was in the process of thinking whether the axis would be good for me or not, I did watch this video. It is what more or less was the deciding factor.
Just purchased this tool from Amazon.. great price. The manual that came with it was not too helpful but I was pretty much able to figure out everything, except the pivot switch on my own. This video was great! I should have watched it before purchasing as it would have made me more confident in buying it initially. I already have several Worx tools a drill, leaf blower and grass trimmer and the batteries are all interchangeable. Two of them are 5 years old so they last. Your suggestion for a charge indicator is a good one. It's always amused me how suddenly these tools, especially the blower, just stop without really losing power before.
The technology of Li-ion batteries if for it to run nearly full power and then suddenly quit. THe older style NiCd batteries gradually slow down and don't have the same full power run-time. It took me a little while to get used to the new style.
I just bought this saw. This was a good overview video prior to using the saw. The Worx instruction manual needs to tell users how to use their tools. Not just drawings with no detailed written instructions. This video was very helpful. Thank You for filling in were the Worx user manual left questions like the "Pendulum Function" and when it should be used. Thanks!
ha! I did the exact same thing. I bought it. Tried to read the manual. I didn't really find anything on the pendulum motion either. I actually did use it for small job then came to this video for the finer details.
The only thing I can add to an already good video is that sometimes you were doing things on the tool and it wasn't in frame. Saying that, as a 70 year old grandmother who bought this just to destroy some old stuff so it would fit in the dumpster I learned how to operate it from your video. I have also had zero experience working with this type tool. Super easy to use and I completed my job with only one charge. I did way more than 8 cuts and longer cuts also. Cut 3 cabinets into smaller pieces and 2 old deck chairs. They are now gone to the dump. Thanks.
I love mine. It’s a great handy pruning tool I use for our orchard on limbs. I’m also a retired contractor but I still work daily around our house. We live in a wooded area and it comes in handy for limb and fall cutting up to 4-5” diameter. There is definitely a difference in the 1-2 position for different materials. Trial and error will quickly show you this. But it’s worth it to see what it does with different material. Well worth the price! 👍🏼
Thank you, thank you and thank you for including the PVC demonstration because I have to cut some PVC and trying to figure out which tool to use. I was thinking compact circular saw by Worx but I think the dual Jigsaw Reciprocal saw might be better because I can use it for other applications that I need. The circular would work too though. Thank you for covering the PVC because most these reviews of these power tools don't have PVC demonstrations. So when you did the PVC demo I was so happy because I wasn't sure if you would do it. PVC demos are important because many people will use these for PVC.
My first Worx tools was their original string trimmer, blower , 2 batteries and charger set. Had problems with the batteries . Last year a similar set came out with improved batteries witch are interchangeable with my original tools. Yes batteries takes long time to charge but last longer also the charger and batteries are very compact. Reason I plan buying their tools.
I have like 7 worx tools and am more than happy with them . I work with plaster board and a bit carpenter and I love those tools . Looking forward to bay this new rip/jig saw as I have older wersion and it's a bit to weak to cut wood . But I use for cutting plasterboard and it works perfect

The blower feature doesn't work how expected, but this is only one cons in this tool. Both, and reciprocal and jigsaw work very well, strong and straight.
Thanks for the great demo. Question: Do you know if we have to unplug the charger when it is fully charged or is it ok to keep the battery plugged in when not in use? Also, does the blades seat completely into the receiving end as it appears the blades to not go all the way (for instance, the g saw wood blade black painted area does protrude a bit from the receptor). Thanks for your help
I normally unplug the battery when it's fully charged. It seems to last a long time. I use different brand blades and they seem to protrude out just a little, but fully lock in place and cut just fine.
Hi I find your videos so helpful so thank you. I have this jigsaw now but when I try and use it with any of the blades they keep falling it. I'm putting them in like you do and they feel secure at the time but within a minute of cutting they just fall out? I'm only cutting mdf and thin ply so I'm at a loss...maybe I have a faulty one of maybe I'm just missing something?!! O never had this problem with my last jigsaw but rarely used it. Any input would be useful x
You mentioned that it had a blower feature to keep the dust out of the cutting zone, but it looks like you had to constantly blow the sawdust out. What are your thoughts about that? Also, how bright is the work light?
I noticed you had to keep blowing the dust to see your line. I’m assuming the “blower” that’s built in is not very powerful. You never mentioned anything about it in the video. That would be an amazing feature if it actually “Worx”.

I haven't actually seen it on the shelves at my local Home Depot. They do offer it online, I'll put a link below or there may be one an Amazon one in the video description. you said the initial charge took three hours + to fully charge......how about after that ? Does it take three + hours every time ? After 5 yrs , are you still happy with this tool ?
Excellent review! My biggest concern if battery life. I own the works edger and love it. It's lightweight and cuts like a beast but the battery often runs out before I can complete the entire perimeter. But, the 8 cuts is far more than what I will ever use this for at the moment and I will have that extra battery. Love Worx products.
I'll have to test it out and let you know. I think it's about 3-4 hours to charge if I remember correctly. The battery has always held up for my smaller projects.
Its important to keep in mind when working with these kind of tools that's it's not about total "running time" but number of cuts or applications depending on the intensity of the work that matters. For example, as a handyman that does contract work. I was much more impressed that he cut that 2x6 multiple times on one charge. That is the difference between a reliable commercial use tool and a home/DIY tool. I use Worx tools increasingly more and more as they each demonstrate their utility in getting tasks done.
Rockwell should make a version of this for their lineup. They had a 12V model a few years ago but at 12V the batts didn't last long. It was handy but it needed the 20V for a little extra power/run time. Or make the batteries interchangeable between the worx and the rockwell, problem solved.
Rockwell was called the Trans4mer. It pivoted from jigsaw to recip saw. Only accepted jigsaw blades tho. Looks like they are revisiting that with 20V and I like it accepts both recip and jig blades. Rockwell/Worx just come up with some interesting niche cordless tools.
Transfer from 12v to 18v litrally means yes more powerful performance, but less run time. More run time achievef by more (ah) ampe hour. As I know, worx, rockwel and more 2 or 3 brands are all battry-interchangable. I saw a guy show it in a youtube video
nice. To use recipe saw blade on jig saw mode it surprise me also on the jig saw blade on recipe saw mode nice. and can figure out to buy less expensive blade compare jig or recipe saw blade. thx for sharing.
Thank you for showing me that that particular blade will work in both positions now I'm going to purchase one to cut installation phone that's three or more inches thick they work really good cutting the softfoam if you don't have a foam cutter thank you I appreciate that one thing no one else seemed to talk about you just did it naturally thumbs up
Without speeding up each cut takes about 30 seconds to a minute and unfortunately a framer or carpenter must work quicker than that when it is their livelihood, i would love to see something like this that cuts as efficient as a big brand saw, unfortunately we didnt get the comparison of this vs the dewalt saw cuz it wouldve cut faster than this one sped up
I just got this and tried cutting through some small limbs (less the 2" thick) I'd get about halfway through and it would shake terribly and I'd have stop. What am I doing wrong 🤷♀️?
@@MarkThomasBuilder I purchased this saw because of your video..:) thanks for the great review...but i have a question there is a lock of the trigger but it is not like the drill switch where you can permanently switch back back and forth. The switch is like temporary and once the trigger is release it goes back to autolock again and needed to switch again to pull the trigger.....is it really work that way or mine is faulty ....your advice is appreciated
Well done. Worx has this now for $75. My only criticism is you didn’t address that despite it having a built-in blower, there was so much debris from your 2X6 cuts that you had to stall and use your lungs to blow it away every 3 seconds. Obviously Worx engineers didn’t optimize its blower fan’s capacity for any situation. Perhaps they, like automotive mfr. planners, left that as a future model improvement claim. Cutting a 4X4 post or 2X4’s will likely not be as dust free and nicely clean as their ads imply. Plywood jig projects would I’m sure be as they claim. And yes, the battery should have a gauge system. When my 20v Worx trimmer runs out of juice, the lithium’s don’t just slow and die, they stop suddenly with no warning... almost always mid-job. Surprise. It would be even more annoying while doing a wood cutting project. One other thing is that the tool should be available at an even lower price for those of us that already own their 20v tools, and don’t need an extra charger to have to pack away somewhere and never use. Interestingly, on one image of the main ad, it points at the battery and mentions a “run-time indicator”; nowhere else can I find more information related to that, nor do I see such an animal in their pix of the battery. There certainly isn’t such an animal on my 20v trimmer’s battery.
You're right, the blower could use a new model upgrade. The nature of lithium-ion is considered an improvement, because it gives you nearly full power the whole way through, right till the end. I agree though, it's frustrating when it suddenly dies, unlike the former ni-cad style, where you get a slow down warning. I keep the Axis around my workbench within arms reach, because I often need it for small wood cutting tasks. It's very handy and portable.
I prefer corded tools anyday. It can only cut straight as a jigsaw cause blade too big to do round cuts..needs to accepy smaller blades as a jigsaw cause its not a real jigsaw if cant do round cuts
@@MarkThomasBuilder its basic observation. Just look at any jigsaw, the blades are small..if blades are big like a sawsall it just cant make round cuts

Got an email a few days later suggesting to charge the battery between 12-24hrs in order to get over 1 hr performance. Meanwhile the charger stops charging after 4hrs. Good product, false advertisements. Non existence support and warranty and refund.
No good for someone in the trades, works good for a cut or 2 every so often but when u need to make lots of cuts it is no good for more than 4/5 before she wants to give out, great idea just need dewalt or milwaukee to give it legit power rather than black and decker power

I had just ordered the Worx Axis last night and because of this review, I am happy that I purchased it. I also saw another review where a hacksaw blade was inserted into the Worx Axis to cut a screw. The cut was a flush cut made possible because of the flexible hacksaw blade. That makes it into a 3 tool item in my opinion. ruclips.net/video/bEUP_yf0dYY/видео.html Please delete if posting the link is not cool with you.
I use the blower quite often over my gas handheld. It's not as powerful, but I can get a lot done in the first 2 minutes. The gas one has to warm up first, where the Worx just gets going.
When I install a new blade in the Worx Axis, I find it helps to take an extra second to wiggle the blade and check that it's locked in properly. I've had good luck with Diablo blades.

One additional moment: it hold more different standarts of saw blades then is stated.
Yes, that's a real plus!
@@MarkThomasBuilder I have four different types from old jigsaw and reciprocal saw, and all of them I can use in one tool now.
What was that orange pendulum control? I never heard you say what it was for?
It's like an orbital action which increases the cutting ability. You would turn it off for more precise cutting.
is it possible to cut 8' long and 3/4" thick plywood length wise in one go? performing small items is no big deal.
It seems to have some amazing battery life. I haven't tried this test, but I believe it could do it.
2 years later: I would get a circular saw and a Kreg rip kit. Much easier to get a straight cut than with this.
Does it have a tree saw blade available?
Yes, one of the blades is for branches. I own other blades for limbing and they fit the Worx Axis just fine.
Super. I'm considering their blower, chainsaw, and hydroshot, as RV accessories.
What does the yellow/orange'ish switch on the front/top of it that is labeled 1 or 2 do?
I believe it changes the cut speed by offering orbital action cutting vs straight cutting.
My battery on full charge lasts only 20min. After 4-5 hrs charging. How long do you charge yours? and how long itll last.
Thanks

Great review. Does worx have an upgraded battery for this tool?
Thank you! I don't know of any upgraded batteries that they offer. Overall, I'm impressed with the power of this battery.
Whats the different with the 894 model?
Devmohan Dass great question! It looks like the 894 is made for the UK market and doesn’t flip down for jigsaw use. It more of a reciprocating saw.
Rockwell should make a version of this for their lineup. They had a 12V model a few years ago but at 12V the batts didn't last long. It was handy but it needed the 20V for a little extra power/run time. Or make the batteries interchangeable between the worx and the rockwell, problem solved.
That would be interesting to see what the Rockwell version would look like. I'm planning on a Rockwell tool video next Tuesday, FYI...
Nice. Thanks for all the different test. Were you blowing on the saw dust whole you were cutting wood?
Not that I recall. It has a built in blower, but it's not too noticeable.
nice. To use recipe saw blade on jig saw mode it surprise me also on the jig saw blade on recipe saw mode nice. and can figure out to buy less expensive blade compare jig or recipe saw blade. thx for sharing.
This comes with 2.0ah batteries could you use 4.0ah with it ?
Run it dry yo know how much noise it does ?
Thank you for showing me that that particular blade will work in both positions now I'm going to purchase one to cut installation phone that's three or more inches thick they work really good cutting the softfoam if you don't have a foam cutter thank you I appreciate that one thing no one else seemed to talk about you just did it naturally thumbs up
You're welcome. This saw is very handy for multiple projects. I often .use the Diablo multi-purpose reciprocating saw blade in it.
just received mine and looking forward to trying it out
Hope you find it handy, like it's been for me.
how much is the saw what store sells it
$99 I haven't seen it in the stores yet. It's available from Amazon. Please click on the link in my description, it will help support my channel.
Or $69 without battery and charger
Worth extra $30 for battery and charger, individually its cost alot more
You convinced me.I went and bought it and am really happy with it.Thanks
Thanks for posting! The Axis has a new home on my workbench wall. It comes in handy on many projects.
It definitely looks worth a try
It really comes in handy for small odds and ends.
Without speeding up each cut takes about 30 seconds to a minute and unfortunately a framer or carpenter must work quicker than that when it is their livelihood, i would love to see something like this that cuts as efficient as a big brand saw, unfortunately we didnt get the comparison of this vs the dewalt saw cuz it wouldve cut faster than this one sped up
Did worx send you the tool?
Yes, for an honest review. I keep this on my work bench shelf, ready to use. It's very handy.
is there a version of this but with cable instead of battery? (even if it's from other brands)
Not that I know of. The Worx battery seemed to hold up well for me.
I think Porter Cable does
I just got this and tried cutting through some small limbs (less the 2" thick) I'd get about halfway through and it would shake terribly and I'd have stop. What am I doing wrong 🤷♀️?
Humm, it's hard to say without seeing what's happening. It helps to keep the limb right against the flat surface of the saw.
@@MarkThomasBuilder yeah I tried that but it kept shaking away..I mean violently. Idk I'll have to try other blades perhaps.
Yeah, that was my next suggestion. I recall Bosch blades working well in the Axis.
@@MarkThomasBuilder will do thanks
Absolute fair evaluation. Worx as presented super. Bye bye craftsman n other batteriy tools. This works
Thanks, man! This is a handy tool for cutting random pieces of wood.
Very helpful thank you
You're welcome!
3 in 1. if you count the massager
Haha!
How many spm on the jigsaw?
3,000 SPM
You did the best review for this saw....i have been searching for something like this about worx but the chinese won't show how powerful it is.
Thanks! Worx batteries seem to last a nice amount of time.
Has it got a brushless motor?
I don't believe it does, but I'm not 100%.
It's very handy and portable.
for a tool that i'm going to only use few times a year, is it necessary to be cordless? wouldn't the battery life drain over time? thank you.
I keep mine on the shelf and grab it for random tasks. The battery seems to last a long time. It's nice that I don't need to drag around a cord.
I have one and it is GREAT.
They're a handy tool, that's for sure.
This would make an awesome Theragun!
It kinda has a similar shape.
Thx, good to hear
You bet 👊
Great review -- thanks! This is definitely another tool to add to my collection :)
Lena Rich thanks! I recommend it.
Worx is a Chinese tool manufacture located in Suzhou, China.
Ahh, I didn't know that, thanks for the info!
I'm a long time worx tool man But never yoused the building tools 👍
This Axis is very handy. I use it all the time for misc cutting needs.
I prefer corded tools anyday. It can only cut straight as a jigsaw cause blade too big to do round cuts..needs to accepy smaller blades as a jigsaw cause its not a real jigsaw if cant do round cuts
I'm going to test it today and see if different blades make a difference. I'll let you know.
@@MarkThomasBuilder its basic observation. Just look at any jigsaw, the blades are small..if blades are big like a sawsall it just cant make round cuts
Great review! Lots of videos don't put stuff to the test! A good test as well with a sturdy plank. I try to shape guitarnecks. About the same size! Thx! Great upload!!
Cool, thanks!
I have the cordless saw, I'm definitely going to get the 2in1 reciprocating saw
It's very handy and powerful. I keep in on my workbench to help with many different tasks.
Quality ?
It's very handy and reliable for homeowner use. If something happens, I've experienced good customer service.
Excellent review.

I would not recommend it , the blade holding shaft broke while I was cutting deck Spindel, and there are no parts available
I believe it has a 3 year warranty. If it broke within that time, I have to say that WORX has excellent customer service, from my experience. Thanks for sharing your situation.
You can get these for $80 including a impact driver I the set. I am contemplating getting that set but it looks like it made of cheap plastic so idk yet
The tool works great for me and the battery power is amazing for the size.
Where is that, man?.. Can you post a link (ebay, banggood, aliexpress, etc)?
@@atadali6199 it was an ebay sale from the worx seller. i ended up not getting it but i wish i had because i have looked now and i cant find as good of a deal.
@@levistrnad2965 thnx. That is good enough. I"ll keep hunting/observing ebay till they have it again
Great Video... Now I can make my Choice...
Thanks, this tool is still running strong for me!
good stuff at a good price.
It's worked well for me on many projects.
he battery is advertised to last around 4 hrs on full charge. It appears that lasts only 20min. Couldn't contact them by phone. After numerous attempts and been on hold for over an hr gave up. Tried the live chat online. It turned out the its not a chat, but it takes massages. Got an email couples of days later. It stated the my message have been sent to Brand Ambassador. Got an email a few days later suggesting to charge the battery between 12-24hrs in order to get over 1 hr performance. Meanwhile the charger stops charging after 4hrs. Good product, false advertisements. Non existence support and warranty and refund.
Anyone else's blower motor stop working?
I had a different warranty item and had great customer service.
Great saw, but not for 2x6, circular saw for that job..
No good for someone in the trades, works good for a cut or 2 every so often but when u need to make lots of cuts it is no good for more than 4/5 before she wants to give out, great idea just need dewalt or milwaukee to give it legit power rather than black and decker power
QUESTION OF THE DAY: What projects do you use a jigsaw on? Or would you if you owned one?
Making wood yard art displays. Looking to purchase for wood crafts and making simple wood things like a craft ladder for my Christmas elves, a storage mud room like wall unit that has cubby holes and hooks and a bench.
Parabéns Markthomas. Eu comprei essa máquina. É ótima para minha marcenaria. Parabéns pela explicação.
I had just ordered the Worx Axis last night and because of this review, I am happy that I purchased it. I also saw another review where a hacksaw blade was inserted into the Worx Axis to cut a screw. The cut was a flush cut made possible because of the flexible hacksaw blade. That makes it into a 3 tool item in my opinion.

i love mine and i am a home owner DIYer i have all my things WORX
Awesome, I use their leaf blower all the time.
Worx works!!!
Yes, 💯!
Everything i have to Say about Worx powertools Is:Wow!!))
Wat i see a small con: The blower built in It Is not so eficient...
I use the blower quite often over my gas handheld. It's not as powerful, but I can get a lot done in the first 2 minutes. The gas one has to warm up first, where the Worx just gets going.
Its bullshit cause it cant do round cuts when changed to a jigsaw...am a builder nyc 28years
I'll have to try this out again with some different blades. I've had good luck using Bosch blades.
I like I like I like it wifey getting me one
It's a very handy tool. I have to build a dedicated shelf in my work corner to hold it.
I purchased one of this saw, what a load of rubbish the blade keeps coming out really frustrating.
When I install a new blade in the Worx Axis, I find it helps to take an extra second to wiggle the blade and check that it's locked in properly. I've had good luck with Diablo blades.
It WORX!
Haha, the name fits!
