@@travelfeet -- I am not sure, ask the realtor, his number is on the video description. Being in Texas, I am unsure if having power and/or a well/septic would be additionally taxable. I know it would add property value, just like any structure, so that WOULD increase the tax based on the assessment. All I know is when I looked into a few properties they have shown, the taxes were quoted based on a home value that had a homestead exemption that capped the value, or assessed the value based on the prior sales price. Bumping the sales price up by 100% should more than double the new owners property taxes.
@Erin-Thor taxes are based on assessed value which does not change every time a property sells. That would be spot assessing and is not how tax assessed value is determined. Assessed value must be fair in relation to the assessed value of other property in the municipality. If the assessor is going to increase the assessed value of one property, then all similar properties in town will also increase in assessed value. When you hear that a town is being revaluated, the assessor is looking at all properties within the municipality not just a select few recent sales.
