One correction -- "Their family doesn't want them"....that actually made me upset. I'm in Alberta Canada and I haven't known my sons whereabouts for over a month. He is 29 and was diagnosed in 2017 as schizophrenic, was on risperidone for a short while but went off meds on his own accord. When covid 19 came into the picture he lost his job and went completely sideways. He checked himself into a hospital and they released him within 3 days,,,,because they didn't want beds taken up during Covid. They discharged him and he hasn't been seen since. Because he's 29 no one will give me any information, not the police, the hospitals, the homeless shelters --because of the privacy act. I am completely broken knowing he is out on the streets. I search for him and it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I don't know if he's dead or alive and my poor son is out there totally paranoid and confused. God! mental illness is a curse. My son has a loving home that wants to help him and because of our 'system' I can't even help him do that. THAT is why people don't get the help and end up homeless. The resources they offer while they kick them out of the hospital are a complete JOKE. I'm so disheartened.

I am so sorry to hear that, I have similar issues with my father who suffers from schizophrenia, we always find him in the end, but it is scary when we lose contact.

I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder when I was 21. I’ve been hospitalized several times. I’m scared to tell people I have it because there is such a stigma around it. I hear voices everyday but I’ve learned to understand the illness on meds and most people don’t know I have it. Education is so important
There's no cure for it because it's not scientific - it's spiritual. Seek God. Those voices are spirits.

There is always hope. A friend of mine is an engineer and was a university lecturer for 30 years. He is on treatment. Is happily married for 30 years. My friend for 40 years. The nicest person I know with impeccable manners. He is brilliant.
I have schizophrenia and it is a true struggle. Good to know people are becoming nicer to people with mental illness, that we can be apart of society if we want to.
How did you know you had schizophrenia? My son is 30 and has been having delusions and hearing voices for about 10 years. He SWEARS there is nothing wrong with him and he thinks he is being gang stalked or is a targeted individual. He has now become an alcoholic drinking to deal with it. He says the alcohol tones down the voices.
@@EarthWanderer1111 sounds like he is suffering from psychosis since he has hallucinations and delusions and persecutory delusions. Many people with psychosis dont realise they are psychotic and dont look for help. Im no psychiatrist but i have schizophrenia myself and it sounds like your son does too, i can relate to those symptoms.
I am the daughter of a schizophrenic mom. I was always being tested, and people would think you could get it by talking to someone. they would just avoid her. And me I was always shunned for it too. Like I was contaminated. The way we look at mental health has gotta change. Really isolates people who have it and the family members who live with them

I have anxiety (hence my current profile of Piglet from Winnie the Pooh). People act weird around me sometimes when I tell them that.
Just put them in hospitals until they die. It's not worth the risk.

My mom had schizophrenia. She was a kind sweet loving person, very bright and very funny She was also neglectful, detached, messy, checked out alot.

I’m really not sure of the things I hear or see are real. I be seeing things move when they are not. a month ago a stuffed animal turned its head to look at me but when I looked back it looked normal.i heard these random people talking,and this picture on the wall stares and blinks at me.I feel like people are going to shoot me if I come near them or go outside.my mama think I’m just avoiding people on purpose and is trying to force me to talk and be around people but I don’t want come near anybody cause I feel like they are going to try to shoot or harm me.I talked about this to her but it’s almost like I didn’t even talk about it to her.I think she thinks I’m doing it on purpose.for some reason I feel like I am lying and this makes me not want to say anything cause I’m feel like I’m lying about these things. I’m having a hard time thinking of what to say or do so I’m not really sure if I’m making sense.I’m not really sure if I am ok or lying to my self right now,but am i ok or am I lying to my self?
@@lilmagnoliabeauty4184 I think you're worried about "lying" because someone else is putting that pressure on you, almost like gaslighting. That's not right and you should trust your gut about your own internal experiences and symptoms. As for the hallucinations, if you don't already have an explanation for them, I would say look into medical assistance with that. Same with the specific fear of being shot. That may or may not qualify as a delusion (I mean, if you live in LA, that fear may not be unfounded lol). These things don't necessarily mean you have schizophrenia, but they are symptoms of it and other disorders. I'd recommend seeing someone for these things if you can. Bring it up to your physician if no one else. The hallucinations you're describing are something worth looking into and the specific fear you have as well. Best of luck finding help, and I don't be afraid to self-advocate!

Psychosis is the worst experience I’ve ever had it’s a living hell… I remember hearing so many voices pointing out my flaws constantly. I don’t wish it upon no one, not even my worst enemy.

@@VER_TRISTEZA Schizophrenia is the hardest and serious mental health conditions with one of the highest mortality rates. With all due respect, being a sensitive is not the same as the psychosis that comes with those voices takes things to a new level. As with any mental health illness and being a sensitive, there is a scale of intensity, symptoms and other factors involved. Being a sensitive is hard unless you can learn to tune it out, however, for those with Schizophrenia, the voices are more than a spirit talking to them, or having hallucinations that aren’t as intense as others. Add self medication to try and escape those symptoms and you have a recipe for disaster. I wouldn’t wish Schizophrenia on anyone.
@@braveheart7203 A suggestion to feel better. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair, back straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. Slowly the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Day or night before sleep sit or lie down and observe your breath. Make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

@@braveheart7203 Meditation must be done without any expecations. Let it happen to you but sincerety is needed. Since many years I have made it a habit to observe my breath sensations even when I take a walk, when reading, on the phone, before sleep etc and I am feeling relaxed and healthy. It requires no great effort. No deep breathing needed. Stillness adds to the relaxation process. Develop your mental muscles by doing the practice regularly. My mother was a very happy smiling beautiful lady that would hide her mental illness behind her smile for years. She was a beautiful person she loved her family and her children, grand children, and 1 great grandchild. Our family didn’t realize that she had been planning on taking her life for a long time we just thought she would get depressed and make remarks about not being here or dying. She was 67 and took her life on July 27,2021. Oh by the way my daddy took her to get help and medication after she took sleeping pills to not wake up in May of 2020 but SELF PRIDE kept her from taking the medicine. Mama was in denial and refused to accept that she had Schizophrenic. I’m 44 and I cry over the lose of my mama. So please if you all know someone who has a mental illness or disorder see that they get help and love them no matter what.
that is so tragic and you are so strong to tell that, my best friend in high school is fully blown but REFUSES to admitt it, we are both in our 40s now and has to take his medicine which is supervised , but to know what he was like BEFORE compared to now,is, in itself, a tragic story, I try to help him as much as I can, but it is so taxing in my own well being and energy to listen to his endless talk of his persecution. Anyway, it is a horrible disease that takes a heavy toll on his family, and me, his only friend left, but I cant imagine how terrible it is for him to hear those voces he hears EVERYDAY, A TRUE CONSTANT TORTURE, BUT BECAUSE HE REFUSES TO EVEN ENTERTAIN THE idea it is schitoprenia means it will never get better for him

You can't make someone get help or see what they refuse to see. I've had 3 relatives w/ this illness plus Borderline Personality on top of it all and you talk about a nightmare from hell! Each relative I tried to help w/ this refuses to accept they are ill like this as they project all onto others who they claim are out to get them.
If we put them in the hospital by legally declaring them 'incompetent' which is true and valid & legally acceptable - then they just resent and hate us and when they get released, they seek revenge b/c of their BPD symptoms of wanting to get back at you. So, take paranoid Schizo Affective mixed w/ BPD vengeance and you have a major monster/beast on your hands. I am all alone in my family of deniars who refuse to see this is happening so all the burden is on my shoulders. We must be tough and strong though and turn to God b/c that is all we got.

My son was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia in 2013. He was 27. He had suffered in silence since he was 23. He spent 6 years in the Air Force a tour in Iraq and while in the Air Force he got his BS in computer science. He was a programmer. He is treatment resistant. The medications do stop the tactile hallucinations but, he still hears voices and has delusions. He never is free from symptoms. I wish they would try different meds. He was conserved in 2016 and currently lives on his own however, I am very involved with his care and provide a lot of support.

Roman Robledo Roman it's difficult for parents to accept. If they acknowledge it then it becomes real. I spent 6 months after Eric's diagnosis with my stomach tied up in knots. I was scared and felt like I was losing my son. I also spend a lot of time learning everything I could about schizophrenia . The first couple of years was a living hell. I had to make some pretty serious decisions which my son wasn't happy with at the time. Fast forwarded a few years and although things are't perfect they are worlds better than before. Let your mom know how you're doing, communicate with her. She's scared and worries about you.

Schizophrenia is due to demons. There are evil spirits in the world. They are under Satan's kingdom. These spirits are the ones who are the invisible voices people hear. These are the spirits that lie to the people and give them false beliefs and irrational fears. The suicidal spirits tell them to kill themselves. The evil spirits make a person's life so miserable..people feel hopeless and that is why they are depressed and think to give up.
They are mentioned in the bible. Jesus cast out many evil spirits out of people. These are only rid of by deliverance ministry and crying out to God. Repentance of sins is needed. God's power is needed. The spirits only respond to the name of Jesus and His power. Jesus is Lord. God's people involved in deliverance ministry can help.

My daughter came home for Thanksgiving, she was 30 lbs lighter and very very delusional. She's 20, and family has lots of mental issues. But she is extremely unwilling to seek help. Thank you for your amazing information my family really appreciates this.

Roughly about 10% of the worlds population have a third eye/ear - meaning they can see and/or hear spirits. To those who can hear/see spirits - you are NOT crazy, your brain is NOT acting up, the spirits are REAL ! I've had this for more than 25 years now. At first I went to the usual therapy sessions and medications just like you. But then the problem kept coming back - meaning the treatment addressed only the EFFECTS and not the CAUSE. Evil spirits are like BULLIES - they choose their victims ! They can smell fear, bitterness and doubt - key soul weaknesses. Spirits communicate by telepathy - mind to mind, that's why ONLY you can see or hear them. Spirits can also DISTORT speech. For example if your friend is talking to you nicely as usual, you'll instead hear him/her MOCKING you, so you'll get ANGRY. That's how spirits make you paranoid & anti-social. They want to isolate you socially. You're their TOY !!
Spirits can also SHAPE SHIFT - appear in ANY form (animal or people) they desire. They can IMITATE other peoples LOOKS and/or VOICES and pretend like real people. Spirits can also produce SOUNDS like knocking on doors, footsteps, crying or screaming people, scratching on walls, police sirens, barking dogs etc. Their plan is to ISOLATE you socially .. for themselves. Make people think you're CRAZY .. even if you re NOT. Resist them, Dont give up .. or you're really gonna end up crazy. Remember this, its NOT you but THEM (spirits) thats causing this. Fight them.
If the problem is spiritual, the solution is also spiritual ! Get close to GOD. I also found out listening to Worship Praise Songs (via earphones) helps block the voices, even drives them away ! I’m so happy I came across MedCircle. My mom was paranoid/schizophrenic, and she led a tortured life. I always wondered if she felt trapped in her body. When she took her meds, she was really pretty good, but then she’d swear she would be okay without them, so she’d stop taking them. Within 2 weeks of going off her meds, her symptoms began showing up, and within a month she was delusional, hallucinating incapable of taking care of herself. My childhood was hell, as I witnessed and experienced things no person, let alone a child should ever have to experience. If you’re reading this and have schizophrenia or signs of it, you CAN live a normal life. I’ve seen it.
The thing is that almost all medicine out there only deals with the positive symptoms, they don't do shit against the negative symptoms or the cognitive symptoms most of the time.

The most helpful thing my therapist taught me about was ‘affect without recall.’ I thought it couldn’t be PTSD because I had this idea that flashbacks were these vivid, hallucinatory memories. But mine were mostly affect without recall: no conscious memory of the events, but a rush of emotions that were appropriate to the events, rather than to whatever was in front of me. So I’d be terrified, furious, humiliated, sick, in situations where I was perfectly safe. It was profoundly disorientating until she explained what ‘affect without recall’ flashbacks are; after that, I was at least better able to identify what WAS a flashback, which is the first step to managing them.
I’d been doing a thing I felt embarrassed about: wearing a ‘necklace’ that was actually a little lavender sachet, and smelling it when I felt upset. It seemed like a weird thing to do. She told me that actually it was a smart technique: by giving myself a strong sensory stimulus, I was recalling my attention to the present - sort of gently shocking myself out of the flashback. Didn’t always work, but sometimes it helped.
I also think that it can be harder to get a diagnosis if the cause is something not well recognised, and that can compound the trauma. PTSD happens when you’re subjected to things you can’t control, and having no one listen to you when you say you need treatment is more time unable to have any control. Does NOT help you feel safe again!
Oh, and she told me that the problem with PTSD is that the brain actually doesn’t identify the trauma as being in the past. Most events end up filed in our ‘autobiographical memory’: some memories may be unpleasant, but we still experience them AS memories, as things that are no longer happening. But trauma disrupts that process and the events don’t go into the autobiographical memory, so, on an experiential level, our brain genuinely does not understand that they’re no longer happening. They’re filed in the ‘happening now’ section; logically you know they aren’t, but viscerally they are. I found that helpful; it didn’t fix everything, but knowing what was going on was at least a bit less confusing.

I am very sorry, you are experiencing this. However, I feel it is not necessarily denial, but maybe a different perception of the patient.
I am an elderly Indian woman who has done master's in psychology but because of passage of time and not needing to use the knowledge, have forgotten most of what I studied long time back.

My experience in this with a family member is they think there is nothing wrong with them, it’s you that has the problem, therefor they do not seek treatment and they hate anyone who try’s to help them. Dang, this is spot on for my diagnosis. Going through schizophrenia is life changing. I had all these symptoms. Previously, always had good mental health and never thought this would happen to me. I was diagnosed with acute paranoid schizophrenia after a major seizure. So, so grateful for the psychiatrists who knew exactly how to manage my mental health & saw me through to recovery 😊🙏
Interesting, I've never heard of seizures or Epilepsy being linked to a mental disorder. Epilepsy is a physical disorder.
@@jeantave8562 I know they aren't generally related. I had mild symptoms a few weeks leading up to seizure but very clear symptoms once I regained consciousness post seizure. I was in hospital for 2 months during my recovery

@@jeantave8562 actually seizures have been linked to tourettes, adhd, and occasionally schizophrenia/ bipolar...there's medical cases on it. Neuro development is also linked to them with cases of being premature at birth
Be careful to be wise and not unwise is my best recommendation for anyone suffering from this sort of thing whether it be real or perceived.
Drs wield great power and we as individuals can be great actors in our own minds. Be careful who you trust and let in. Not everyone is good natured and some exercise out of fear or mal intentions if you let then too far into your own "hollywood set" so to speak. Even the closest brothers or sisters or parent or friend may operate as if they wield a great hammer ready to strike if they see or sense an ounce of "out of line thinking".
We live in a culture where big personalities tend to drown out the more silent until that day out of frustration, anger, or whatever emotion you let yourself go a little bit too much.
Its interesting to hear the real stories of people locked up for life in some of these institutions. Many are there simply because of the above description. A little bit may always lead to a bit more out of humor or laziness or whatever. The dark forces at play which act both on the aggressor and the innocent want only to destroy so keep that in mind.

The most devastating symptom is one you don't mention - anosognosia. The person does not realize that there is anything wrong with them. Therefore they don't think they need and refuse treatment. The only way to overcome this is for a loved one to force them into treatment against their will. Most states have laws for this. It is still difficult to get the person suffering to continue treatment. I have lived with a schizophrenic person for 25 years, but I can't leave because she will die if I do. It is hell on earth.
The person with schizophrenia is dealing with evil spirits. Jesus had to cast them out of a person in the accounts mentioned in the bible (read any of first four books in the new Testament of the bible). God shows how to deal with the evil spirits tormenting people. Deliverance ministry done by some churches that actually do it.can be helpful.

Religious delusions are often, if not most, onset by the community. It validates the voices and some go on to have exorcisms and believe they are evil.
My sister is schizophrenic, but has been diagnosed as depressed. They are giving her prozac, but that doesn't address the voices, and weird beliefs (just like you described). We've been dealing with it for 35 years. This is the second time she's been committed to a lock down facility, yet she continues to fool them by not telling them the stuff that she has revealed to her family over the years. Plus there's HIPPA, which is problematic when you have someone who cannot make decisions for themselves. It's so frustrating.
Your sister shouldn't have to take Prozac at all. I was on it for a week and I flushed it down the toilet. It makes you feel much worse!

Once they gone the patient is able to be adequate to explain to doctor (and at last to be agree(!!!!) to go to doctor). That is I had to do. Until that my son denied everything and lived in his own world with "voices" in the head. After 10 days he was able to realize he must go to psycho neurologist.

3) Disorganized thinking, speaking
4) Negative Symptoms - withdrawn presentation, poor hygeine
Must have 2 of the 4 symptoms for at least 1 month and continue for at least 6 months. The diagnosis is applied after all other medically induced conditions have been ruled out.
Hopefully people will be better informed what this condition is and stop misappropriating this label to those who don't fit the criteria.

My sister was diagnosed 2 years ago, she had another episode as of April 21 2020 and remains in the hospital for medical evaluation. I never knew this disease was like this. I feel this, my brother went to prison healthy and normal and come out last Friday with schizophrenia and mentally disabled, 3 days later (Monday and his birthday), he stabbed my other brother in the chest at 3:30 in the morning after trying to fight him all night because the voices told him to or they would hurt him. Now probably serving life. I don’t think that relationship will ever be there

I feel i should help here, i have these illness, plus depression, and live with this for over 39 years, and yes im on meds, i have been stable for 38 years, there are great treatments for this illness, at the sametime, for your sister the treatment she having you will have her back. There are life changes needed with this, no alcohol what so ever for at least 6 to 7 years. And yes NO party drugs whats so ever for life.
Once on the other side, there will be scary feelings she be having and this is a must counciling one on one. The emotions she will go though can be hard to understand why me. Life trauma events, please make shore that you comfort her emotional needs, this will shorten the time for her start life she always wanted. Just no alcohol or party drugs. Say within 2 months or 3 she have greater understanding life and what it realy means, this were its important, 1 year of full treatments as discussed hear!!! trust me, you will be proud and blessed more the life it self. When we fall, we learn what it takes to get back UP. Life hurts one rich or poor, but bless with happeniss on the way.

I think it's so important that people stop judging and treating people with mental disorders so harshly eg: not trying to understand them and just be kind, instead people shun people or laugh at them. These people are suffering and need support, with the right medication and therapy they can lead relatively normal lives

My best friend is schizoaffective. Usually, this means that she sees things from a very different perspective and I find this to be valuable. When she flips out, I do my best not to take it personally and to help her reason her way out of it or at least talk her into going to see the doctor again. One of the things I have noticed that might have something to do with why a lot of schizophrenics either don't seek treatment or stop taking their medicines is that a lot of those medicines cause extreme amounts of weight gain and/or otherwise make a person not feel so good. You'd probably have a better success rate if stuff like that could be eliminated because sometimes it seems that the goal of treatment is to make the rest of the world comfortable with the person's behavior and perhaps secondarily to make the person themselves feel better. If the medicines could be better refined to make the people feel better and have more socially-acceptable behaviors, more people would continue taking their medication. Especially with side effects like weight gain, it isn't entirely unreasonable for a person to question taking that drug since that level of weight gain is pretty likely to cause type II diabetes at some point. We should be able to come up with some more solution with less dangerous side effects like severe weight gain at the very least.

My sister has schizophrenia and has had a psychotic episode resulting in hospital stay 3 times. After each episode she is prescribed anti psychosis meds, goes to therapy and makes some progress towards a better quality of life for a month or two… then she stops all that and eventually goes back to negative symptoms. She goes back to a thought pattern of nothing is wrong with me, refuses to take the meds, etc. Its like an endless rollercoaster. How do other families cope with this? We don’t want to force her into treatment
Some people are able to tell what is real and what is hallucination, but many cannot and the missing idea in addressing the mentally ill homeless is that those who cannot tell what is real cannot make informed decisions, so they cannot keep themselves safe. They should not be left to their own devices since they need someone to assist them with decisions or they are in danger. It is so wrong to call leaving them to make uninformed and dangerous choices "freedom". The laws need to catch up with this idea so they can be protected from their dangerous decisions based on delusions or hallucinations without understanding the actual risks. People who love them should be allowed to have information and participate in getting them help.
My brother has suffered with schizophrenia right after his university graduation up to this time (he is now age 60)... I took care of him and he trusted me all the way. It is heartbreaking and true enough... people with their right minds must stop treating them like unwanted beings.

I was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder which was changed into schizophrenia after my second episode. Thanks to this video I finally understand why. I have a pretty much normal life, especially since I found the medication which suits me best (a combination of Quatiapin and Lamotrigin). Luckily I haven't met any people with perjudice in my day to day life. Instead I always talk openly about my disorder when people start to comment about the way I have to handle some situations in order to stay healthy. I have always accepted that I will be schizophrenic for all of my life and totally dependend on my meds. None the less: after watching a couple of videos made by others with my diagnosis I was starting to think: hey, I have none of that. Maybe my diagnosis is wrong after all. However the list of obligatory symptoms in this video made it clear to me that I check more boxes than I thought. It hurts but on the other hand I am now able to forgive myself certain traits of my charakter that I will never be able to change simply because my brain works differently. Thankyou for giving me this opportunity.

My sister just died less than 2 weeks before her 70th birthday. Only one family member cared. She suffered her whole life from schizophrenia and was never diagnosed or recieved treatment. She was homeless for over 10 years. She ended up dying from starvation because she could no longer swallow and refused to see a dr. She was beautiful when she was young and had a heart of gold.
It only takes someone to care to help another.

My last semester of college, I went to the mental health clinic because I was hallucinating rats and cockroaches crawling on my floor. I knew they weren't real because I would tell and point but no one else saw them. Luckily I was just extremely stressed and the hallucinations went away once the semester was over.

Finally I said to please just have her checked out. I feel she is oppressed by the religious aspect my parents passive aggressively push and she is so disoriented from her true self or trying to find her true self. She lives with them since her divorce from a good guy. And it went downhill fast. I thought I was being judgmental in this hypothesis but this comment makes me see I am not alone. I got away from it because I could feel the craziness stirring.

I do think there's a major difference between those two examples. A lot of people with schizophrenia do not see themselves as ill and therefore aren't interested in treatment so it would be a lot more difficult and maybe even against the person's (initial) interest to call for help as opposed to someone on the street asking you for help because they are depressed. The way it is described in this interview is an extreme simplification and makes it seem like schizophrenics are not getting the help the deserve simply because no one recognizes their need for it. Of course it's always better to offer help rather than ignore someone who is clearly struggling - I'm just saying it's not that simple.
I totally disagree with the opinion that there is not enough help & too much stigma attached to mental health. people are suffering in general on both side of the spectrum the ones with the illness & the surrendering family, friends & professionals. Education the public in general, to be kind & caring to all people, the same way that care their pets. I am giving my opinion cause I have a daughter that suffer with physocis & refuse to take medications but is trying to live life as best as she could, of course living with the voices, the paranoia & seeing the things no one else can see, but I do understand. PTSD, from childhood abuse continued into bad situations in adulthood.
I also wanted to add that in my experience living with someone with this, they can be very dangerous! I do not feel safe in my own home at times. We have to lock our doors every night from my mom because she has in the past tried to harm us. People need to be aware that yes, most people aren't dangerous, but it can be very dangerous when they are in an episode!!!
They can be very dangerous, my fiancé’s son and daughter scares me , they both were diagnosed with schizophrenia and he Denies it, he keeps saying they will just snap out of it. It’s like they are possessed by demons. I literally get nauseated when they are around me. I fear they will snap and could be capable of seriously injuring someone. I don’t think they need meds, they need a priest. It’s sad but I’m serious.

My sister became a different person after a fibroid removal surgery which was 4hrs ago. She just turned 43.She became very paranoid, thinking her phone was bugged, that she was being followed. She believes her job sent some guy to take something the doctor implanted in her stomach and she claims to be electronically zapped by the power lines which zaps her teeth and does something to her brain. She refuses to get help because she thinks the doctors are doing it to her. We are lost and do t know how to help her. She talks to her self constantly scrubs her scalp to get the radiation out so she says....HELP US. I just want my sister back. She used to be so driven hard working and beautiful. Social phobia or now known as social anxiety disorder is when people usually have insight into the problems they face and that they require help. And also is less pervasive when compared to avoidant. Avoidant personality disorder, like any other personality disorder, have a lack of insight and is usually pervasive. Furthermore, Social anxiety disorder more or less revolves around social situations and circumstances while avoidant behaviours revolve under social and interpersonal relationships

I was diagnosed with "Schizophrenia" on my exit interview with a mental health doctor, and it pretty much stayed with me ever since, but I didn't not exhibit any of the symptoms mentioned in this video during my interview. Once diagnosed, it seems to be impossible to be viewed in any other light, and impossible to challenge as a misdiagnosis.

So I had a psychotic break in college. I was diagnosed with undeferentiated schitzophrenia. I've been on zyprexa for 20 years. I don't have any of the positive symptoms like seeing or hearing things that aren't there, but I have all the negative symptoms. Some people don't think i'm ill because I'm very high functioning, but I know that I have a mental disorder and I do my best to manage it despite their disbelief. I take my meds relilgiously and I do my best to keep myself safe, happy, and productive.

The hardest part I've been dealing with my brother is he refuses to accept he has schizophrenia after being admitted to a hostpital once and told motiple times by different doctors he has it. He refuses to take anything. He just got put on medicine not lomg ago for his thyroid and now he refuses to take that because he says they lied to him. We just want the best for him and he sees nothing wrong, he seems to be getting worse and hes completely isolated himself.
The other doctors that have diagnosed him was at difrent time. First when he was about 21 (hes 34 now) then 2 other times through the years and another time at a hostpital that he agreed to go to about a year ago, but after his medicine was working he thought he was good now and he didn't need it any longer. Since then he won't take anything at all. He says "they" tell him we're lying and just using him. Or "they" tell him we're not good people and we're out to get him or set him up.
It's so nice hearing all the symptoms in such a concise way. It runs in my family and doing research I'm a lot less concerned that I have it

You need to seek deliverance ministry at church that does it. The demons (evil spirits)are the ones who cause the voices, tactile sensations and hallucinations. They can only be cast out in the name of Jesus. Open your bible. Read about how Jesus cast out evil spirits. Read book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.
The evil spirits need to be cast out a person. Then they will find a difference in their life. They need to read the Bible, turn away from sin (anything wrong we are doing or against God's commandments in bible) , they need to turn to God. Evil spirits will only leave in the name of Jesus. Seek deliverance ministry at any church that actually does it. Open a Bible and read how Jesus deals with people who needed help with evil spirits that torment them, speak to them and give them irrational fears and beliefs and cause them to be depressed or feel hopeless.

My 25 year old son is waking up every morning "Preaching" it last anywhere from an hour to 3 hours very loud. His words are are very grandiose and spiritual, wanting to change the world..but also can be scary especially for his neighbors. He has been diagnosed with schizophrenia but refuses to take medication. Please do a video on Schizoaffective Disorder! My boyfriend was diagnosed with it when he went to jail. He went to jail because he was walking down the street in nothing but his boxers, and somehow the cops picked him up. I’m guessing that they realized something wasn’t right with him because they took him to the hospital. When he got to the hospital, the nurses wanted to draw some blood and he freaked out on them. He told the nurses and security guards “if you touch me, I’m gonna touch you.” Unfortunately they tried to take his blood and he fought them a little bit but he didn’t hurt anyone. After that, they cuffed him and took him all the way across town to the county jail where he stayed for 60 days. The hospital he was at had a psychiatric stress unit upstairs..... AND THEY TOOK HIM TO JAIL INSTEAD. When he got out of jail he was on medication which makes him just sleep so much. Ever since then I don’t know who he is anymore. It’s taken over everything and I just don’t understand WHY he thinks I’m after him, or why he tells me that he feels like we’re on a TV show. His moods are either depressed and asleep all day and night - or up running around saying stuff that makes NO sense. Schizoaffective disorder is so confusing to me and I don’t understand why I can’t do anything to help the person I love. I’m afraid he won’t ever be the same.

As someone with a severe phobia of blood tests, I would likely do the same if a bunch of nurses tried to 'attack' me (as my brain sees it). It's like someone with a phobia of snakes having one forced into their face. Or someone with a phobia of heights being dragged up the side of a sky scraper. I wish the medical system would take phobias into account with things like this. I know from experience that heightened states of anxiety/paranoia makes phobias 100 times worse. I'm usually a total hippy and completely non-violent, but if I was going through a panic attack or state of paranoia like your boyfriend and then had people try to force a blood test on me, I'd likely try to kill them. I would feel absolutely terrible afterwards, but you do everything you can to protect yourself in the moment.
I hope he gets help. I've found amber lights and vitamin D help a bit with my weird sleep schedule. And free things like ASMR or music help distract my brain a bit from the worst depression episodes. The hardest thing is remembering to use those techniques in the first place when you are in the middle of those episodes.
My son was the same.Jail. Jail. Jail.asked to get help from hospitals.got kicked out after 72hrs assessment. Then back on st again .drink,drugs etc, yet has a bungellow to live in,but refuses to go to house, things had happened at,glad he’s getting on other,or he wouldn’t be alive too

Roughly about 10% of the worlds population have a third eye/ear - meaning they can see and/or hear spirits. Spirits can also produce SOUNDS like knocking on doors, footsteps, crying or screaming people, scratching on walls, police sirens, barking dogs etc. Their plan is to ISOLATE you socially .. for themselves. Make people think you're CRAZY .. even if you re NOT. Resist them, Dont give up .. or you're really gonna end up crazy. Remember this, its NOT you but THEM (spirits) thats causing this. Fight them.
If the problem is spiritual, the solution is also spiritual ! Get close to GOD. I also found out listening to Worship Praise Songs (via earphones) helps block the voices, even drives them away ! Thank you both for this....I have at LEAST one Family Member (for sure) who fits this profile and I have a couple MORE who MAY also display this affliction somewhat. I would welcome a discussion of the GENETIC propensity within a Family lineage for this disorder. This is both fascinating and sad at the same time and the idea that it is treatable today is encouraging.
Thank you for the info, my twin sister got this problem at the age of 16. I decided to devote my life to investigate more about this mental problem and help people who are struggling to get better. I will be happy if any doctor or Psychiatrist help me in this journey.

@@Kaminadorr Thank you so much! Unfortunately because of Pandemic I could not visit my sister in my country for a long time. She is in Iran and I live in Germany! She is with my family and I have no worry! I am waiting situation becomes better, then I have a plan to help her to come to the Europe!

The doggy is so cute! I’m making an appointment with my therapist before I see a psychiatrist because I hear voices and I feel things. For one thing I feel like the cops are after me for no apparent reason. I get scared when I see them. Then I feel like I’m better at driving than other drivers.
I used to believe that the feds were after me because they thought I was a drug dealer. It was a very fixed delusion and whenever I saw someone driving behind me, I was convinced they were following me. If you're having symptoms, I want to encourage you to see a psychiatrist and get treatment for it. I have been managing my mental illness for around 14 years now and have had a very fulfilling and meaningful life. I hope you get the care you need.
I'm a disability advocate for my denomination, and because I've lived with schizophrenia since the age of 28--I'm 63--I've sort of made mental health my specialty. My illness is now a chronic illness; the symptoms are under control, which allows me to live a relatively normal life except that I can't hold a job because I never know at night at what time I'll wake up the next day. One of the reasons is the sedative in antipsychotics that compensates for the hour at which I actually get to sleep at night by extending the sleep into the next day, so if I only get to sleep at 4:00 am, which has happened, I may not wake up until 3:00pm the next day. And if you can't get up at regular times, you can't hold a job, right? So I've been living on disability income and doing volunteer work like serving as a disability advocate.

I never worried about it until recently, I really like the idea I can over come what ever this is by educating myself.

This is very helpful. I'm dealing with someone i think is going through this.. I don't know how to approach them conversationally. I'm kinda even scared to ask in depth questions because I don't want them to flip out on me or shut me out, I want to help them but I don't know how . Theyre definitely experiencing some kind of psychosis
