tbh all game devs should be doing this. It's why developers such as Ubisoft have worse and worse sales every year, they put out the same generic open world game that they've made 50 times already. If you've played 1 ubisoft game, you've played them all, no reason to buy another. But this doom trilogy, all 3 games are completely unique but still definitely a doom game in their own way. Games should be an art form where each entry tries to bring something unique you've never seen again.

The fact the characters respond to you, by merely selecting them is what makes the game feel like it's actually a world you're going into. It fleshes out personality & nudges the forth wall a bit. Just like the previous titles. In Divinity Original Sin One, your character's responded to everything. You could just walk by a campfire & they'll speak out with a quip about how warm it is, mostly because they got hit with a debuff, 😀 but still. The amazing sounds, the ambiance, those are the just small elements that help bring the charm to the game itself. If you don't have that, your just pushing buttons to get a reaction over & over again. Like driving a car. I don't want to drive. I want to get immersed in a world someone else spent years bleeding over it & for the right reasons. Not just $$$.

It is CLEAR as day that so much love and appreciation was put into this game. Music, combat, cutscenes, fidelity, level design, just every single detail is amazing. Evenif you don’t like it, calling it trash or terrible is beyond harsh and shows they have little appreciate for gaming as an art.

This game is so fucking good. Wasn't feeling it a ton at first but I got 3 levels to go and it's easily my favourite modern Doom game. It reminds me more of the older games than the previous two did and it feels like a truly new experience.

You know its a quality game when they bring in a new tool, like a shield, and it isn't just an extra item in your inventory. It's a swiss army knife that opens up offensive, defensive, and problem solving mechanics.
This one being a lot more melee heavy is pretty nice too. I love being able to acctually use a melee playstyle for once! I love the flail! Regular melee barely did damage in 2016 and did literally 0 damage in eternal, except for blood punch, which needed to charged, so you could barely ever use it. Melee finally feels good in the dark ages

I'm only 2 levels in, but the game truly just feels good to play. The speed is perfect, the weight of the Doomslayer makes you feel bulky but in a powerful way. The aesthetic blend of futuristic and medieval is just top notch, as well. I'm excited to dig into this all weekend lol

How come no one is giving it shit for not having a physical disc? Or that they removed multi-player regardless if people played it or not. Or how about them removing glory kills? This does not warrant a $70 price tag nor $59.99. This is a $40 game minimum. Less content than previous games and it's even shorter.
