Great video I got but I don't know my user name, how will I know that
I have tried exactly the same except it is a VPS with Debian 12 with no DE and I have installed xorg and fluxbox to have a very lightweight windows manager and save resources. Then I followed the same steps as in the video.
I am unable to connect using Windows 10 RDC or the Terminals app. I am able to connect using Bitvise SSH client, but I think Bitwise is using an SSH tunnel to set up the server-side RDP connection, and it is probably not using xrdp.
I wonder if I have to somehow tell xrdp to use Fluxbox, and if this is even possible.

Guess what? YOU HAVE TO BE LOGGED OUT OF YOUR DEBIAN machine or the 'Just connecting' box quits and the screen blinks off as soon as you hit 'OK'
I looked at several videos howto set up XRDP and nobody mentions that. WT-actual- F people.

Thanks for the info/hint bro. That helped, I was wondering why it was giving a fast blink then quits quickly. So you need to be logged out first... Maybe there is a workaround to make it behave like windows RDP by asking the first session to loggout or allows you within 30 seconds or so, anyways.

Change the settings to bottom instead of top. You might have to install desktop mod

@@justbored3.14 I've never used Debian, and now I'm using rdp It is showing Debian and I want to download the Chrome browser and OBS app but the terminal isn't working I saw hundreds of videos on RUclips I didn't find any solution hope you understand my broken English.
