nah they shouldn't make it connected to the mcu or even mcu adjacent. they need to do stuff like Next Avengers, Hulk vs Wolverine, Hulk vs Thor and Planet Hulk. A Captain America and Wolverine WWII film would go hard
I could see well budgeted animated theatrical movies doing decent at the box office. Probably not linked to the MCU after how the audience dropped off for What If?.
I think the problem with What If is that they were giving us what if scenarios that didn’t resonate with us or we even wanted and turned it into the Captain Carter show with her trusty sidekick Kahori. The first season was basically the only good season because it had a story arc. I mean the Gamora and Iron man episode and the Nebula episode were the only good episodes of season 2.
Though I think animated MCU content can work with concepts we are interested in. Maybe a Thor and Loki prequel or a Spider man movie taking place before Civil War or a Black Widow and Hawkeye team up (maybe about when they first met) or a prequel focusing on some members of the Guardians of the Galaxy before the first movie like Gamora and Nebula or Rocket and Groot or Drax or Star Lord or heck even a Wakanda Forever movie with T’Challa and even then all they had to do is hire a voice actor and be done, but I doubt that one would happen because it would be What If the movie the Black Panther edition.
Most of the live action films are technically not for little kids, but parents bring them anyhow I thought for a long time they should be making animated films for a younger audience that will get them into the whole Marvel universe, as they get older...teen or so they move on to the live action films Also give away comics at the theater of the character in the movie, EXPOSE people to the comics

I want to see Marvel make an Animated movie about Thanos and his origin story. We've never seen his origin story and it would be cool if it was told in the style of animation
Please branch out more Marvel, and give us some different stories and characters. These cartoon movies are your opportunity to make stories that we have never seen before and make them something along the lines of the old Lionsgate movies where the plot can be dark and dramatic! There’s so many good stories you can do with this! I hope they handle this smart in the long run!
They should do an entirely new Marvel Universe for animated theatrical films with little mcu inspiration as possible (see, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes)
Ok, I need to see the MCU animated and hopefully they give us a real finale to the Infinity saga rather than Infinity War and Endgame (it’s better than just reading fanfics, especially if they are redoing it in animation) (I mean what if this is Marvel’s answer to the Disney live action remakes?)
