What’s to stop Trouba’s wife from getting pregnant again and pushing her residency back another year? He never should’ve been named captain…..needs to go. It’s hard to believe that a guy that’s only 30 years old has deteriorated so quickly from when he signed the contract at age 25. I think he pissed Drury and Laviollette off when he disclosed his lima bean sized bone chip after the Rangers were eliminated…..made them look like idiots for playing him. One more thing….. it’s time to end any access to the team for Larry Brooks….he’s completely undermined the Rangers offseason plans with his report on Goodrow and then giving Trouba a heads up on a possible trade with Detroit.
@@donsullivan1137 the real problem was the Rangers bidding against themselves in 2019. He shouldn’t have gotten the enormous contract for ONE 50-point season. He was not a number-1 d-man after the first month.

If he actually refuses to go to a trade isn’t that breach of contract? From I hear he has a contact that kicked into a 15 team no trade list. If NY wants to trade him he has to give them the list and accept a trade to any team not on that list. If Drury doesn’t have the balls maybe Drury has to go!! Strip him from the C and don’t play this guy at all. Complete joke , why do you want to stay on a team that doesn’t want you.. rangers need to trade him to anyone that wants him retain 25% and we don’t even need anything back. He’s a complete BUM!!!
He doesn’t need to be in NY for a year ? Why many other players have families and kids they get traded and don’t pull this BS. $8 million a year and wife is a doctor they can afford childcare. I don't understand how you'd want to play for a team that doesn't really want you on their roster.
I think the purpose of waiving him is 1. Maybe he gets picked and we are off the hook, 2. You waive him and then he doesn't report to the Wolf Pack he can then be suspended and again don't have to pay him. I don't know how that affects the cap but he would have to choose between getting paid and staying in NY

@@BigAppleHockey where does 1 million come in? I think he must have heard that if they place him in the ahl they only save a million, and jumbled it into waivers. If he is claimed, they are off the hook for the whole thing. If no one claims him your option is a buyout, trade or ahl. So where does the 1 million number come in? I get the sentiment where why buy him out if you’re paying him anyway if he made that case. But you can’t trust this guy. He’s proven his worth on and off the ice at this point. Dump him at all costs

@@michaelhache5648 probably not but he wouldn’t have any say. Maybe they’d allow him to get his way on that too. I’ll tell you this, I wouldn’t want this guy mentoring younger guys on the Wolfpack though. I used to like him a lot but he’s handled this so poorly. Rangers have too but they have every right to want to move on and it’s in his contract as well
So strange how the city falls in love when Wilmer Flores gets emotional for not wanting to leave in a botched trade, but in the Trouba situation discussion of "boo him" come up. What's the big difference, we're not witnessing him emotional on the ice?
Also, how many deals have there been that did NOT happen that us in the public have never heard about? It's odd that due to the info being leaked, fans are jumping to heavy conclusions. This would be endearing for lots of other guys (ie. Flores/Mets '15) so who knows, maybe he wins the city over this season?
Yeah...that's not going to happen. Wilmer didn't have a BIG contract that he hasn't lived up to and weren't on the ice for critical goals (albeit the Game 2 winner as well) in the Conference Finals.
Flores shed tears cause he legitimately did not want to be traded from the only organization that he played for. The next game he was in, he hit a game-winning homerun. Trouba disappointed most fans and is playing hardball here.
@@BigAppleHockey Yeah, I understand that...but if he scores the winning goal opening night, or hoists the cup in June of '25 I would think things would have quite a dramatic ride...

Worst case this is money in the Bank for Igor and lafi later on after next season to renegotiate. Unless number eight has some type of reborn year I don't see him being on the team after this next season

Lets put it this way. With or without Trouba, does NOT make the Rangers win the cup. The entire team was outplayed and when that happens you have to step up and take high risks that most of the time don't work..
So we should keep a guy on the team who plays on 3rd pair $8M, he killed us in 2022 VS Tampa, and TWICE! AGAINST PANTHERS..

This is a disaster for the Rangers. If my job no longer wanted my services, I would leave plain and simple. This feels like Trouba is sticking it to the Rangers fans and that is a no win situation.

Great Video, as usual, guys. I'm a bit confused, because I have not been able to keep up with things on a more frequent way, because of Infections, etc., in Kidney Stone Removal tries. So, hopefully, things will get so much better (thanks for your usual prayers I know that you all send). Was this apart from The Other Video of A Few Days Ago? I'll be watching that next. Or, is it part of that video. By the way, I say Trouba/Laine Package Deal needs to put in play, so The $8M/yr players can get a change of scenery. Let me know what you think

Lindgren filed for arbitration so know they can buyout trouba if needed,which will likely happen to end the drama

I wish people would stop reporting on Truba. No reporter gets in right most of the time, with this issue and others. He isn't going anywhere this season. A trade is going to cost, and Drury has too many future obligations to trade him this year. Plus. Having respect for the man's situation with his wife, is how it should be. No, the Rangers don't NEED to make a decision this season and most likely won't. Let's get over it and move on. Truba is, and will be, a great player next year. This team doesn't need much to go all the way. They need more of an attitude adjustment than anything. Everyone needs to wake up, smell the coffee, and get a clue about the business side of the game. Most are foolish enough, they would have been happy if we signed someone like like Stamkos to a 4 year 8 million contract. THAT would have been stupid. Igor (31), Alexis (13), Ryan (55), Braydon (4), all have extentions coming. This is why we are where we are.

Trouba isn't to blame. It's all on John Davidson/Jeff Gorton who saw him as an $8M/yr Defenseman. We're only in The Aftereffects Mode.

Troubas should consider retiring. I've always liked him I like the edge he plays with but the Rangers could do far more with those dollars then pay somebody who was just out of his league when it comes to faster pace tough for hockey.
Seems like his wife's career is more important than his at this point. He's made enough money that he can retire and let his wife's career take over as their main source of income. I'd pull a Wade Reden on this mofo and see how he likes long bus rides to his games.
