Frankie Lymon in 1960, age 18, performing solo for the first time, on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. The song is from 1957, originally performed by Bobby Day, and in the same year Thurstin Harris’ rendition made it famous, my favorite version, but Frankie did a great job of it as well. ✌🏾😃
Frankie inspired many performers, including Michael Jackson and the Jackson 5, and in 1972 the Jacksons would perform this song on their Lookin’ Through the Windows album. 😊
The audience was thrilled to see their idol Frankie Lymon perform. But when the saw the big Staue of Satan onstage they didn’t want to worship the Devil Statue. Most Christians don’t idolize devil statues. How can you not see the true picture going on here? It’s right in front of you.
The brutha was smoooooth
Pinged a translation to English lol
He was 13 years old when he made this song and this came out 1956
Thurston Harris had the original hit. Back in mid-50s Frankie sang with the Teenagers, Why Do Fools fall in Lovw. He was 13 then. This is a few years later as a solo act.
1959.... 17 years old
No it was 1960 he was only 18 years old
No matter, there is a treasure trove of great vocal performances by him. This tune is ok but you ought to hear him wail on things like Share, Creation of Love.
