- vMix Desktop NDI Capture is the best capture app available to live streamers looking to build their dual PC live stream with no capture card using OBS, Streamlabs OBS, and xSplit. It gives you some things that Scan Converter can't do. Thanks for watching!

Awesome. I always come to your channel to find new cool stuff. Thanks a lot!
when i select a window it doesn't capture it.. for example when I tried discord it was a screen capture like scan converter but zoomed in cause i dont have disc in full screen. I don't know if you get what I mean.. :/ need your help
having "GPU acceleration" made it feel like 60hz, turning it off fixed the issue. being able to send audio only is sick.
What issue? Maybe missing some context that my dashboard on YT isn't showing me.
What NDI plugin do you use to get the NDI source into obs?
OBS Plugin for OBS Studio. Streamlabs OBS has it built in already. You do need to install the NDI Runtimes first. I have a couple videos showing what to do.
1. (CON) I noticed a drop of about 20fps when using VMIX NDI instead of NDI OBS plugin.
2. (PRO) I noticed that by using VMIX NDI you don't need OBS in the gaming PC at all.
3. (CON) I also noticed VMIX NDI uses about 5-8% more CPU than NDI OBS Plugin (This only applied if i had OBS running but I obviously didn't need it...)
4. (CON) VMIX NDI didn't lock the recording to one window but to the whole screen. Although it mentions specific windows in my case it didn't only focus on that one. Anything above it would still show up on Streaming PC.
5. (PRO) I found VMIX NDI to be more responsive than the OBS NDI plugin.
These are my findings if anyone else wants to share their experience let me know. I think i will use VMIX for now. I think it deserves more testing.
Have you tried NewTek NDI Scan Converter. Give that a go too.
@@FrugalStreamer Yes I've tried it in the past but it made my cursor flicker (as in blinking repeatedly) because my monitor was 144 hz. It would now be even worse since I got a 240hz monitor. I will give it a try again, maybe they've updated something. thanks again
Great video, maybe you can help me, I want my gpu gaming PC mostly free, then what solution is the best, NDI scan converter or obs plugin, last year I was using NDI scan converter but I was losing around 8% performance then what is the point, I could do stream and gaming in the same PC with obs and newnvenc.
There is some way to send the video to the second PC only using the cpu? I have a ryzen 3800x. Thanks
I think they are close to the same, with a slight edge to OBS Studio. Have you updated to the latest version of Scan Converter?
@@FrugalStreamer thanks, im gonna try it again
i have a problem.. I make a ndi source and i put a specific window i want to capture but ndi source shows what i see in gaming pc... need help
Don't think this supports Window capture. Newtek's NDI Scan Converter does though using the ROI function.
Running a second instance of OBS on gaming PC is still better form me personally. VMiX ndi uses about 15% where OBS uses 7% CPU.
Does obs use gpu on your gaming PC? Or just cpu.
Thanks
@@El_ShintA Most NDI applications will use GPU Acceleration, if you use VMix Desktop Capture then it has a checkbox to disable GPU Acceleration.
You can also look at the NDI Scan Converter application from NewTek or OBS NDI but those i know use GPU Acceleration as i use them myself.
Hello :) :) thanks for this awesome video and infos !! Everything works great btw. But we're having a problem with NDI Source. We have 2 pcs connected on the same network, the first one is game capturing overlay and works perfectly. we're using ndi source for the second one to send the game only like you did in this video for battlefield 5 but it captures the whole window like whenever alt+tab or open chrome it still displays it on stream any advise? thx in advance
So, you need to make sure you're not capturing a display feed, and just the Battlefield V app itself.
@@FrugalStreamer the game doesn't show in NDI source when we wanna pick it up from the drop down list like when using game capture
@@BronzeTwins Hmm. You using wifi?
@@FrugalStreamer No Both PCs using Ethernet Cables directly to the router
@@FrugalStreamer Managed to show the game in the dropdown list for ndi source but still capturing all what we're doing on desktop
