The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints takes preparedness more seriously than any other christian faith I've come across. Hannah and Daniel creating the "homesteading" persona with Ballerina Farm is in perfect alignment with Mormon doctrine. Most wealthy Mormons have some kind of homestead, farm or cabin for when the apocalypse/second coming, happens.
