To test individual speaker output channels on the 6000CD RDS radio head unit, turn it on, then press & hold the 3 & 6 preset buttons. The radio will seek & tune into the first available local FM radio signal, and will then play audio through each speaker channel in sequence - LF / RF / LR / RR and then display CD changer info at the end.
I'm loving the commitment of trying to fall in love with the focus. Originally subscribed for the fiesta content, but great to see your diverse interest in all these cars!
Hi Sion very well done on another great video and some worthwhile repqirs made to the focus they are so rare now so every day it’s getting better and looking forward to the welding! Have always loved the colour vision metallic and it suits the car all the best Daniel
Great video and really inspiring seeing you resolving the gremlins on the Ford Focus, increasing its longevity. Cannot wait to see how you get on with the welding !!!
The 'selective unlock' feature - where the first press on the remote fob's unlock button only unlocks the driver's door & the second press unlocks all of the remaining doors and the boot - is actually a personal safety feature, as it prevents any pedestrians / passers-by from opening any of the doors on the offside and either robbing you of your valuables, or even worse, hi-jacking you. My car also has this feature, and as I am often the only person driving it, it is safer for only my door to open when getting in. If any other passengers also need to get in, I just press the button a second time to unlock the other doors for them as well. If you then decide to re-enable the 'selective unlock' feature at any time, you just repeat the same procedure you did when you disabled it.
Lovely work on a awesome car model 😊👍 The Sigma engine is a good little unit, just keep a eye on the oil consumption as some Sigma engines can use oil and others not. The culprit lies mainly down to the oil control ring on the pistons and/or bore wear. Great video that brings memories 💖
Another superb video, Excellent fixes & great the car is transformed. Patience is a certainly a virtue with these old cars, Best of luck with the clutch & ideal car to develop your welding skills
Great video, have to say I wasn't a fan of the very first Focus, but this mild facelift model (new lights with indicator integrated with the headlamp and new grille) is a lot more appealing. I'm sure it'll look great once you've finished. I'm also certain that the mk1 focus will be a future modern classic car. Look forward to the next installment!
It's had a lot of money spent on it to get through the MOT every year, so mechanically it's in decent shape. Niggly failures are just things that happen in normal car ownership, and would cost hundreds for a garage to fix, so they have all just been left
given the "savings" coming about by the Lazarus like self fix of the mirrors and now not needing a new radio I am sure funds will extend to another new rear suspension bush? That mis-match of old and new would really bug me
Nice work. Good luck with the clutch... I did my first one a couple of years ago and it was hard work! That was a heavy gearbox though and i didnt do myself any favours by tackling it outside on the driveway in December 😂. Presume you'll do a full kit, doesn't make sense to skimp on anything while you're in there!
Great video Sean I had a 53 plate MK1 1.8td focus loved it but in the end put foot down and it just cut out tried loads of parts still no difference so ended up scraping it 😭 maybe should've tried turbo thinking about it and I had one hear never mind would deffo have another lovely cars great video as always👍
You can also see if you can enable the anti-hijack door-lock function, which automatically locks all the doors above a certain speed once you start driving. The video tutorial is at this link: youtube DOT com/watch?v=HBu9AL2gNIg
Sion did you know or are you interested in aux and/or Bluetooth from your factory head unit, genuine without hacks! If so reply to this message and I can tell you more.ive had mine for 3 hrs and it works a treat,I play my entire music collection from my phone into the car via Bluetooth

I'm not looking forward to it, put it that way!

Totally agree - the Focus is one of the few cars where I prefer the mid-life facelift to the original launch design.
You would help those window moters with some spray in tracks.😊
Great jobs, Siôn! 💪🏼 To be honest, I'm a bit shocked about the little love and proper maintenance has had in its life, and the amount of rust it has.😢

Yes, clutch, pressure plate and slave cylinder/thrust bearing

I am really the pleased the suggested recommendations have worked, all small niggly jobs but make the biggest difference ever!

Brilliant feature even on the lower spec models such as the CL and the LX
I know they're good cars but not for me. Cheers as always for sharing.
