    *From* *A* *Reddit* *Post*
A lot of people have been wondering who *Sara* *Hess* is and why there has been so much controversy surrounding her name as of late, so I decided to write a post explaining the situation for those who don't know what's going on.
The drama began to kick off after Episode 9 of the show, which was fairly controversial as people were divided on the logic behind the ending scene.
A lot of people disliked this scene as it (1) was never actually in the book (2) was written with some lapses of logic and (3) felt like it was added in for the sake of spectacle over substance.
Later, it comes to light that writer Sara Hess was behind this decision - she takes credit for it in an interview and even seems to be quite proud of it, saying "well I just thought it would be awesome and cool to add a dragon explosion into the scene!" People... strongly disliked this, as it reminded them of how D&D worsened Game of Thrones by replacing all of the intelligent dialogue scenes and logical politics in favor of large, "exciting" CGI explosion spectacles. As one user put it, it sounded like something a writer for Marvel Studios rather than Game of Thrones would say, which isn't a good sign.
Then the situation escalates after Sara Hess comes forward in another interview where she endorses some rather contentious views on Daemon's character: she basically agrees to somebody who says that Daemon is incapable of loving anybody, that every action he's ever taken (including when he helped Viserys walk to the throne in Ep 8) was selfish, and that he's the type of person who doesn't even give a shit about his own brother.
"Daemon would have let his brother fall flat on his face. In other words, aren’t all of Daemon’s moments, even the seemingly benevolent ones, ultimately self-serving?"
Hess replied: “I agree with you. He’s become Internet Boyfriend in a way that baffles me."
Hess went on to talk about how she cant understand why Daemon even has fans, which was understandably controversial considering that Daemon is one of the most popular characters. Shit really starts to hit the fan.
Finally, some users begin to point out that Hess was also the writer for Ep 6, which had a few unpopular decisions. For example, after episode 6 aired there was quite a bit of backlash over the decision to cut out a scene where Daemon was comforting his daughters. There was nothing in the books about Daemon being a shitty father or ignoring one of his daughters (Rhaena), yet for some reason Ep 6 added that in and deliberately strained to make him look worse.
Episode 6 also went out of its way to contradict book canon by portraying Daemon as a neglectful husband to Laena (the original F&B book makes it clear that Daemon loved her very much). And not to mention the massive changes Hess made for Laena's death - in the book, she dies while being cradled in Daemon's loving arms, yet in the show her death is changed into yet another dramatic dragonfire moment, which some people didn't like.
Sara Hess is receiving a lot of backlash over concerns about her writing in Episodes 9 and 6, especially the decisions she took when she departed from the books. Others also argue that she is misinterpreting Daemon's character.

Sara Hess is in a lesbian relationship/same-sex marriage who never watched a GOT episode before getting into this project but claims she read the books years ago. 🤥
Can HBO please fire Sara "Bronze B!tch" Hess so we can get Miguel back? She's a lesbian who doesn't understand heterosexual women's taste in men. She's completely misinterpreting Daemon who was a huge fan favorite before the show ever aired.
She made Rhaenys into a mass murderer because she thought it would look so cool if she came bursting from underground. Rhaenys looked so clean coming from underground, didn't she? Perfect makeup. No rubble stains like people had in 9/11. Will have viewers asking, why didn't the dragons burst from underground when the Storming of the Dragonpit happens later in this series?
This woman is a joke and should go back writing for Orange Is The New Black. She is f-ing clueless but Daemon's popularity will not be affected by this because we all know better and she doesn't. We're at a point where Matt Smith should be the one co-writing, producing, and directing. At least Matt researched his character and knows Daemon better than Sara will ever will.
"Daemon doesn't care about his brother" when he clearly does. He's only being self-serving so Rhaenyra will get favoritism from Viserys for Luke to inherit Driftmark? Sure, Sara. Then we have Daemon choke Rhaenyra which was never in the book either. So slicing Vaemond's head means Daemon cares about nobody after someone called his wife a whore? He protected his stepsons from Aemond.
Yeah, he doesn't care. He is incapable of loving while Matt does the opposite for his role to what Sara thinks about this "awful" character that GRRM created. Sara, you just said Daemon doesn't love Viserys and Rhaenyra when being "self-serving" for Rhaenyra means he does care about her. She asked him to marry her. He helped Viserys walk up the throne and crowned him in Ep 8. But Daemon still doesn't care? 🤣
It's like no matter what Daemon does whether being a war hero while risking his own life to help Corlys Velaryon, he's wrong in Sara's narrow mind. If Rhaenys commits worse, she's still good because she's a female. Only Daemon gets hated on. F you, Sara. Maybe Sara is sexually attracted to Rhea Royce, who knows? But she should stop trying to ruin George's favorite Targaryen because she doesn't understand him like most readers do.
Anakin killed younglings and choked Padmé which led to her death and Anakin was still redeemed at the end. But if Daemon kills his first wife and will order for Blood & Cheese, he's worse than Adolf Hitler, Jeffrey Dahmer, Hannibal Lecter, Thanos, Maegor the Cruel, Aegon IV, and Aerys II combined. Arya is a little girl but she has the right to kill a bunch of people because she's a female assassin. K.
Daenerys probably killed thousands of more innocent (faceless) people (NPC) but Daemon is the one regarded as the bigger POS? 🤣 Jaime wanted Bran dead, killed a cousin, and raped Cersei right next to Joffrey's corpse. It seems Daemon is being looked at with a microscope. One mistake and he's worse than Ramsay, Joffrey, and Gregor raping Elia Martell.
Since Sara Hess is in a same-sex marriage, no wonder they're trying to make Daemon, Rhaenyra, and Alicent all queer. Just follow what is written in the book, b!tch! Stop trying to ruin Daemon by your false interpretation of him, Sara.
