Hey I dont know if youve ever seen my kayak reviews from years ago but mine has no hooks or a place to tie down in the rear, always have to use imagination when I load mine. good for you for not making excuses for not going out.
I have watched those, I went back through some of your old videos once, reviews on skate boards and the kayak. I think you picked up some rubbish someone left floating in the water too which is a great message to send. I seen a guy camp in a kayak like yours. He puts everything in dry bags then uses ratchet straps to loop around the whole thing and tie it all down. Not sure if they are called ratchet straps in the US?
@@Beyondthebackyard-au heck yeah ratched straps are indespensible. theres some places in california I know you would like to explore, like the ghost town of bodie, ised to be a gold mine huge place. places with hot springs and steam coming from the ground and many roaring rivers and waterfalls. I did a yosemite national park hike tutorial also. you make me get fired up about getting off my butt
My daughter would love that. She always says she wants to explore abandoned buildings. Maybe I should search for ghost towns over here. Glad you’re feeling motivated.
Cool, it works i guess. I'd rather see you initially lift the kayak squarely to the thighs first, then shoulder. You'll hurt yourself doing that initial lift & twist.
I do that with my canoe, which is roughly twice the weight, but I just always felt this was light enough, but you're right, poor technique will eventually lead to injury.
Clever idea. I have never used a kayak but I don't imagine they are very light to lift on and off. Well done.
They are awkward to lift to that height. You can spend $100's on a slide out self loading rack, but this will do me for now
