Sean facilitated the RVD impression of HBK, that alone names him a legend, his reaction to it is gold :)
The eye turning in impression ?! ☠️ was the eye turning in intentional ?
I stumbled on this Sean guy maybe 6 months ago on you tube.. Had never heard of him - now maybe 150 or more shoot interviews later; I think he is the best wrestling interviewer/ host on the 'net.....
You and me both man. Sean and Jim cornette are fascinating to listen to. I only ever watched wrestling as a kid from like 1986 to 1990, so it's safe to say I'm not a wrestling fan, but I LOVE the knowledge and stories and history that comes from these two guys. Recently started listening to Bruce Prichard's podcast too in the last week or so.
Without a doubt Sean is the best
Agreed.
Him and Chris van vliet
@@TheBC313 I went to college with Sean - he's completely real. Nothing phony about the guy.
Sean Oliver has reinvented the shoot interview.
You are right, pretty interesting interviews
He, did, but unfortunately it appears he's stopped making new content because people don't like PAYING for shoot interviews.
@@PrinceAkkanatan He's basically leeching off the dirt of the business so I don't think he can get too high and mighty.
I agree. His shoots are my absolute favorites. Truly set the standard for such things.
You want trash, watch RF video shoots... Sean actually had a production and grown up questions and approach.
Sean is the absolute best shoot interviewer. Knowledgeable, smart, funny. His style is more conversational than straight Q&A, and that's why I always watch his stuff as much as I can.
Hello
What I like most is that he let's the guest speaking and doesnt interrupted to much.
His shoots with Nash are fucking ace, the two seems to get along great also.
They have a podcast now
@@tobe1207 yeah and it was good at first but it's a rough listen these days
I miss his interviews
Where did he go and why did he stop doing shoot interviews?
Because everyone and their MOM has a podcast now and everyone is just making up their own stories. He cant conduct any interviews because everyone is talking about everything, jerking their own selves off
@@gator9339 Money. He wasn't earning enough from the interviews. This was way before podcast, patron and ad money fron RUclips was even a thing. He only got money from dvd sales and from his website.
Sean Oliver is shoot interviews, A true legend.
Konnan has yet to do the interview after taking Sean's money for the interview.
He just got out of the hospital bro
@@OliveMule You're replying to a 10-month-old comment about a 10-year-old event, bro.
@@OliveMule He just got out of the hospital but what about when this originally happened almost 20 years ago ? Lol
i believe it's common knowledge that "konnan" is a piece of shit
Sean being the subject of an interview feels like a crazy meta cycle come fully around.
I wish Sean would start doing them again, his shows had such a professionalism to them
sean oliver has the best non reaction face,
he just has a little look to the camera and it says so much lol,
id like to see him interview more than just wrestlers
This dudes the best at wrestling interviews nobody comes close
Hannibal at The Hannibal TV is pretty good.
I love Sean Oliver's work.
This guy is an absolute gem. I hope he stays at the level he is at but is able to get bigger stars.
Great interviewer. Solid balance between class act and funny as shit, likeable as hell, respectful to his guests, and actually gets very insightful questions and statements across.
It's funny how the shoot interview circuit is almost like a pro-wrestling world of it's own, where Sean sounds just like a promoter running a territory when talking about interviews. I love it! :D
Hes way better than meltzer.
Exactly. I don't watch the product anymore. Haven't for many years. But I love stories/ shoots on the business; old-school, or even more recent-school!
Lmfao stfu
Most of them are ran by the same people in the 90’s that had to not only know every single thing going on in a business they had no part in, but also cheered on the shit that would lead it right off the cliff it fell off after trying to follow the “Attitude Era”. So, the least they could do is give us some content from the wrestlers that were around when wrestling was a business instead of a company.
Jamie Dundee interview seemed pretty out of control.
That tit is so hateable.
@@JagerLange Do you mean him or his actual tit with those shit jailhouse tats on them haha
It was but at least Jamie was engaged in the interview.
Sean tried so damn hard in that interview.
Yeah, but Sean stuck with it and did the best he could.
Sean Oliver is hands down the best wrestling interviewer in the business. He makes it an art of conversation with the interviewee. If anyone reads this and hasn’t checked his shoots out, I implore you to purchase a few; you will be thoroughly entertained. For me, his shoots with Jim Cornette and Kevin Nash are absolute gold.
I've read Kayfabe Stories six times now. I catch a new "war story" tidbit each time. What Oliver does to be above the rest even in this market is amazing. I encourage folks to buy that book!
So the gatorade bottle that HTM had was really Vodka? Lmao
I think the Honky Tonk Man was worth the Vodka quest.
I know the feeling. I had a podcast once upon a time and had on a guest who answered every question in less than 5 words and usually in 1 word. I somehow dragged 20 minutes out of him and that was my biggest accomplishment as a podcast host.
name and shame ?
Yooooo krazyeman thanks for all the bryan and vinny uploads
My fav ones are Lanny, New Jack, Vampiro, Hall, Nash, Teddy Long and Kharma
RVD was one of my favorite guests.
@@SuperAttitudeera oh shit I forgot RVD especially when he does the HBK Lazy Eye
Sheiky baby
HTM
Mine too
I had no idea who he is,or what his background is but right away I had a feeling he is really really good at doing interviews with pro wrestlers. It just hits the spot.
Thank you Mr. Oliver for the excellent and extraordinary interview that you derived from Bruno Sammartino. The historical information in that interview is pure gold to anybody interested in the business of professional wrestling. Thank you for all that you do.
Coming from a news reporter background, I think Sean is an incredible interviewer. People, especially celebrities are a nightmare to get what you need from them
Been riding kayfabe commentaries since 2012 always gold
I already loved Kayfabe Commentaries, but this really makes me respect Sean Oliver a lot more. Kudos to you sir.
I've never heard the king of the shoot interview being interviewed himself. That was cool. Sounds similar to Mauro Ranallo on the phone-- king of the commentators.
I know this comment is a year old but he did a great podcast with its hughezy that's worth a listen.
The ones with Poffo, Honky Tonk Man, Sunny, Cornette are some of the best.
Sean loves bringing up how New Jack almost broke a finger getting into the prop, and his reaction when RVD does the HBK Lazy Eye.
I honestly thought Sean and Brian Last were the same person. My life in unaffected with this newfound knowledge of my mistake but good to know.
Sean is the real deal.
the Al Snow segments was pretty hard to watch, but watching him ranting apeshit on the fans as he always does is very entertaining... i'll say that and New Jack are some great gems
I really wanna hear his opinion on the Jamie Dundee shoot
Yeah I’ve looked for him commenting on it
I think the shoot business as he refers to it, is a really depressing one
Not as depressing as it used to be in the early 2000's when no one had jobs because WCW and ECW closed, and they still needed to fund their drug habits. Some reeeeaaaallly interesting RF shoot interviews out there.
@Andre Corbeil workers love the medicine, baba. You can see Ricky Morton wiping coke off the table in their episode of Timeline!
Immediately looks up Buff Bagwell interview
I couldn’t find it on here
I have to agree with a lot of the other comments about Sean, I'd never heard of the guy till a couple years ago. I gotta say, the guy knows how to do a "Shoot" interview, probably the best ones on RUclips!! Still waiting to see a Kevin Von Erich shoot, but I'm sure he's probably reached out, it's probably Kevin not wanting to do it!! That's my "Dream Shoot" I'd love to see!! I grew up in the 80's in the DFW area, and back then it was all about them "Von Erich Boys" and WCCW!!!🤘
Jamie Dundee was the ultimate interview
Kayfabe Commentaries truly deserves all the credit in the world for being a respectable source of entertainment and preserving history with the likes of timeline and Jim Cornette's back to the territories. Sean gave us all a lot and we owe him
I love the Bruno and Superstar DVD s I purchased. I believe everything is available via downloads now. Great stuff !
Sean Oliver is incredibly insightful and puts up with a lot of weird stuff and strange egos (Dundee) but always tries to get the best out of each guest.
I almost forgot, one of the best, Bret Hart. A very honest guy.
Nash's Sheiky baby imitation was epic
Sean looks like shane o mac now lol
Linda's illegitimate son.
Sean o Mac
I miss the kayfabe shoot interviews. The book about his behind the scenes shoot interviews is fantastic
Sweet Lanny has a podcast
And each one gets better than the last one.
Too bad they didn't stick with it. These things take time to build, and I really think there's a place for a Lanny Poffo podcast on the internet. He always has plenty of interesting stories to tell, and they could bring in the occasional guest, like Sean in this case. Lanny's story is pretty unique in that he wasn't just a wrestler himself as well as the brother of the Macho Man, but he also ran a promotion together with his dad and brother. I would love to hear more stories about the Poffos' early days in wrestling.
Sean should start a podcast.
He's great at interviewing love kayfabe
Wait HTM was pressing you for a bottle of extra smooth vodka before he'd play interview, that's messed up man considering he's so outspoken and kind of prickish about the "abuse" of substances in the business.
@Marc Carran Yeah then he'd buy his own Vodka moron, never once have I needed to ask for nor rely on others to support my habits, even in lieu of pay, so fuck your nonsense derp, what are you 12?.
@Marc Carran that's what I was thinking. He was doing as joke, with a discontinued item. Kind of like Van Halen asking for a bowl of M&M's without the brown ones, just to see if people would actually dig through M&M's to remove that one color.
@Marc Carran "he's still alive, so he can't of been abusing as much as the rest", do what's your excuse for Jake the snake? No one has abused more than him, yet he's still here? Scott Hall? Being alive≠ not being a massive abuser.
@@BeeBumper you are absolutely right
The m&ms was a clever way to ensure the tech list was gone through before a gig
Sean Rocks!
Having seen the dark side of the ring episode about Grizzly Smith and hind sight being 20:20 I completely understand why Jake refused to talk about his family life.
So, are the Kayfabe Commentaries videos over with for good? :(
Genius cast #1😊
No mention of Jaime Dundee?
I was wondering if Sean was still making shoots as I havent seen any clips in awhile. His videos are priced a bit too high for me, but he does good work.
Chad Thomas yes he’s still making them.
He has good offers but you have to spot them or they're gone.
He said they're taking a break. Hopefully they'll be back soon
Get Flair on the show, would love to see him and Sean together
Would love to have Flair on the show! At some point in the near future, we hope.
Seagram's Extra Smooth Vodka isn't discontinued at all. You can get it anywhere here in Ohio.
i really hope he will continue making shoot videos
I have Sean's first book. Interesting read.
Really cool to hear him on the other side. ^^
Where can I find all of his interviews?
He's the ANTI-larry,king I enjoy his vid's the most. Especially the cliq vid's. I don't know what he's putting out to get them to be as entertaining as they are, but It's probably worth it.
A highspots network subscription is worth the 9.99 each month just for the Kayfabe Commentaries section alone
I mean, you can Google the Rob Feinstein stuff fairly easily, I'm glad Sean Oliver took the space after that happened. The Jake Roberts thing, I don't think he could've been truly aware of the gravitas and magnitude of that particular familial trauma there without being *in* the business per se, but Oliver's cool
He should get back into those interviews, his videos seem to be getting a lot of attraction lately
He has a great interview with king kong bundy.
the jamie dundee one was great
He dropped a lot of N bombs. I wish that was an interview Sean could take back
@@CraigSmithII yeah, he cold have at least bleeped the n-bombs
@@benashworth2278
Yep. I like his interview with the Rock & Roll Express when they talked about the old school NWA
He paces his words like Paul heyman
Jake the Snake would have still given him some great stories without talking about his family history, which is all very sad stuff.
I love sean's interview. But do he still does kayfabe commentaries? It seems like there's no newer interview. If he still do it, can anybody give me the source on where to watch it?
Sean has a podcast out now entitled "Sean Oliver's Kayfabe Podcast." You can find it here: kayfabepodcast.podbean.com/
What's in the bag and What a dick was my fav parts of YouShoot
Jake probably just wanted to write a book later haha
This Kayfabe is a great, I say great, interviewer.
Sean Oliver is the Craig Ferguson of Shoot Interviews.
Lol nice
The worst thing about this podcast?
It ended. 😞
This guy still going???
I think he barely does a podcast these days. Sean Oliver's Kayfabe podcast.
see the genius is - if you indulge these guys and get them the booze they want not only will they like you more and feel like they want to give you good content but they'll also get hammered and say a load of weird shit.
I like Sean Oliver and his interviews. Ive always liked the weather man looking professional interviewer/journalist. They always have a place in sports whether it’s Sean Mooney, Sean Oliver, Kirk Herbstreit....although in cfb, Im starting to like Joel Klatt more than Kirk Herbstreit.
Correct me if I’m wrong but there is nothing worse than when Sean does ‘what’s in the bag’ and the person he’s interviewing says his own name.
Agreed!!!
What's the book with his stories?

Wish he would have canceled the interview with the" funkasaurus". That was boring.
He seemed legitimately pissed at Marty Jannetty
That was a rough one to get through. Marty was all over the place.
Hey, Internet. Eric here You mean MJ? Two different people according to him. Marty wouldn't have done that, haha. I'm playin'. One of my all time favourite wrestlers. I've been dying to have him in a 2K game, but he just can't get it together, so sad.
More so with Konnan cause he always mentions how konnan took money from them and no showed.
@@jermainemartinez-perez1574 Sounds like Konnan is the Mexican from Eddy Guerrero's entrance song.
Genius podcast #1
Sean Oliver is a good egg
so much better than Hughzey who's just an inarticulate alcohol
The one thing I can't stand (happens all to often) is when guys take the whole thing so lightly that they show up to the shoot drunk and/or high. You're being paid to do an interview, for the love of god, be comprehensible. Do whatever you want at your hotel room later, but being fucked up during the show is unprofessional as hell and there's more than a few time (mostly RF Video shoots) where I wish the host just took his money back and didn't shoot the following interview because it's obvious the guy was too messed up to give anything reliable.
But sadly sometimes when they are high or fucked up its actually more entertaining. Not all the time. For example, I think Chyna was spaced out of her mind so bad in her youshoot that she was boring and slow. But some people like Sandman, XPac, Road Dogg, New Jack are really entertaining whilst fucked up
RF shoots suck I know a lot of people like them but I've always thought they're just a mess. I'd much rather watch something from KC even though there are some terrible youtshoots out there too like Chyna's or Matt Sydal's.
I think highspots has some of the best shoots, mostly because they involve wrestlers interviewing wrestlers.@@zombiegruesome
The opposite of that is Jim Cornette, where you ask him "Where was it you guys won this title?" and you get a 20 minute entertaining rant lol
IWannaSeeTheKayFaybeConfrontation/PilledOutTapes!
If Seagram's Vodka is so hard to find, how come I found it at my liquor store the other day?
Seagram's extra smooth you fucking tool!
@@collectibleasmr while I didn't say Seagrams Extra Smooth Vodka, it is what I saw & the only Seagrams Vodka I know of.
Whatever happen to this guy and his show
hes right
Where can we listen to the rest of this interview
As mentioned in this video's description, the interview can be heard in full here: audioboom.com/posts/7045531-sean-oliver-of-kayfabe-commentaries
Barry Windham and Bob Orton were pretty crappy shoot interviews. Both of them didn't have much to say and looked like they wanted to go to sleep.
The part with Buff in the book is... horrible to say the least.
WRESTLiNGHDD what happened
Konnan still owns him money
What's the full story behind that. Sean PayPal'd him the money to do the interview for him not to turn up ?
@@ANDCFC95 He gave him a deposit ($500 if I remember correctly) and he never showed up.
Nash, Corny, Sheik, n New Jack.
How old is sean Oliver ?
1973
And then day they just fucking stopped making shoots.
Whos watching in 2022
