- After 9 long months being "blackstone-less," I finally picked up my new Blackstone. I gave my old model to my friend before moving, and even though I definitely could have taken it with me, I decided it would be worth upgrading to something new. My previous model was about 7 years old and since purchasing it, there have been numerous improvements made to the base model. This specific model is a costco exclusive, so there are a few added perks you'll see that you won't get if you were to puchase this at Walmart or another big box store. Griddling is something I love dearly. Griddles are so much more versitile than a standard gas grill. Plus they are easier to use, don't have flare ups or hot spots and add a level of flavor you've NEVER experienced before! If you're in the mood to either get into griddling, or want to upgrade your griddle for this summer grilling season, you need to check this out. I show you how to unbox, assemble, clean and season your griddle for it's first cook. All of these are essential to griddle performance, longevity and to ensure your first cook doesn't go up in flames!

Congrats buddy she's a beauty!! I wish mine had the "shelf basket thing" I think that will come in handy and will be a great Busch Light holder. Mine has the paper towel holder and its awesome. However, the humidity will get to the paper towel over time and ruin it if you don't use it fast enough. Can't wait to see what you cook first!

Oh and "seasoning" the Cook top is actually a chemical reaction called polymerization. This reaction creates a layer of seasoning that is molecularly bonded to the iron. Without this layer of carbonized oil, iron cookware would corrode and rust due to the oxygen and moisture in the air.
