I'm a Ridgid fanboy. The LSA is a big part of why. I have over 50 tools registered. The only time I've used it was for batteries(bat-rays). They sent new ones. No questions. Hate the orange color, but love my Ridgid tools.
I already used it. The day after they announced it I sent in two drills. One was an older hammer drill/driver that had already been repaired twice under the LSA and was eight years old, I sent it in together with another drill/driver. after 14 days they send me two brand new drills! One is the new high torque hammer drill which came with a new battery and charger! ( I just sent in the bare tools). The other one is the latest drill/driver. I'm a General Contractor and USE my tools, love Ridgid!
The gen5x toolset I bought for work as a plumber is ridgid. 5 years of use with no issues so i have yet to test the warranty. I was really struggling with what cordless trimmer to get my mum because the ridgid doesn't seem to have the best performance with them. This video and the comments of people saying they had a good service experience has re-affirmed why I should keep buying ridgid tools!
All our trucks have ridgid, great tools but the LSA is a big reason for using them. What’s really great about the warranty is if it’s an outdated tool they upgrade you to the latest model.
I was unable to use the LSA about a year ago for 2 tools. This caused me to stop buying any TTI tools. All my information was correct. I was just unable to get the tools serviced. I’ll give them a try again.
The LSA program is great had a Gen5X drill chuck replaced and a Gen5X hand vac replaced with the new current model because they stopped making the Gen5X and replacement parts for it, which I thought was awesome! The only sucky part is that if Ridgid discontinues a product line i.e. their 12v platform, all your LSA covered tools in that platform will say “Warranty Expired”. So if any of my 12v tools breaks, I am SOL! That’s my only issue with Ridgid’s LSA. Thanks for the heads up on the LSA update and am now looking forward to the follow up videos!

I am on RIDGID platform bc I bought the drill+impact driver 18v combo with battery and charger back when I was still in university knowing nothing about tool brands. I don’t know why bought RIDGID instead of other brands like Milwaukee, DeWalt, RYOBI, Mikita or others. Maybe just pick randomly in Home Depot. But it worked so way for the past 10 years. I am an occasional user for furniture assembly and tire replacement, never failed. I am recently wanting to do wood working. Got a mitre from RYOBI bc it was cheaper and corded (no battery) But i am probably gonna buy RIDGID sander, router and extra batteries. Maybe a vaccum, jigsaw, circular saw in the future
Needed to get drills repaired and called RIDGID and I still have to send it to a third party. I leave 40 minutes from any closest repair centre, so I asked them for an alternative. What you speak of was never offered. I actually had to call in at least a dozen times because their website isn’t up with the third party places stilling offering repairs. It was a pretty painful process. The place I went to said it would take one to three months to get my drills back. Still waiting on my drills.
I’ve got dozens of RIDGID tools. They’ve been high quality for the most part… but registering for the LSA is always hit or miss for me. I’ll do the electronic receipt… think it’s good and then find out 45 or 60 days later that it wasn’t accepted. At that point, I’m not holding on to the paper receipt to show them and there is only 30 days left before then non-LSA time limit kicks in. So, while I continue to buy RIDGID tools, it’s really because the tools are solid and I’m already invested in the ecosystem.
Clint, it might still be a good test to use Service Direct for that battery issue you're having, but having said that... they do have the streamlined, phone-based battery and charger claim service now too. It'll be interesting to see what they have you do, if you start the process via Service Direct. Carry on, good sir!!
I bought a Rigid cordless drill , charger, battery on 8-2012, almost 12 year's ago, and my battery finally went bad. Rigid is sending me a new battery! Unbelievable. I like Rigid tool's.
I've used the Ridgid LSA twice. The first time was under the old system and the second time was under the new Service Direct program. I much prefer Service Direct, but either version was very nice-like. The first LSA interaction was in 2021. I'd burned out the motor in my Ridgid oscillating spindle/belt sander. Home Depot accepted the sander for repair at their tool rental counter. I had to pay a $50 deposit, which was refunded when the sander came back in about 6 months. (The sander motor was on back order, and this was at the height of the supply chain disruption.) The next time was just a few months ago, when the Service Direct program was announced. After I filed a claim online, Ridgid sent me a FedEx shipping label. I dropped the the item (a palm router) off at a FedEx location and had my repaired tool back in just under 14 days. Ridgid provided updates along the way so I always knew the status of my claim. Simple. The entire process worked well. The hardest part of the process was boxing up my tool to be shipped.
I switched because of the LSA over from DeWalt tools. I have over a dozen tools right now, 15 batteries and 6 battery charger too. Right now I have the RIDGID 175 watt power inverter running (8) 4' LED lights in my shed. I have a shed on a lot without power right now. I wait till I get email for sales on stuff to buy stuff. It doesn't tell me how many tools I have in my tool box though.

I cant claim to be a diehard fan of any one paticular brand. That being said, I always trust Ridgid and Dewalt. I've had too many milwaukee and makita fail on me and have never enjoyed ryobi. The fact Ridgid has updated their LSA to go directly to them and back that fast is a 100% win for them.

Checked order status with Confirmation # they finally provided and it says it's processing and to allow 10-14 days. More waiting. So here I am nearly 31 days from them receiving it and it has yet to get on a truck and sent back.
When you talk about the receipts yeah they last a week that you can actually read them and then they go invisible what's up with that I mean literally it's just a receipt a blank piece of paper it's like they're using some type of a disappearing ink something so I recommend anybody that buys tools to take a picture of their receipt

It's all about putting the recipe and the product model numbers in. Each kit has a different set of numbers and should come up when you fill in all the information.
I'm I missed this question as it was a good one. You mentioned he took you to the end of then of the isle, so it may have been clearance deals as they were moving out an older model for a new one. Could also have been a holiday deal of some sort, so that probably why you couldn't find the exact kit on the site. That said, anything you buy should and would have been covered under the LSA.
They now require you to send in your battery for evaluation before they replace it. I tried the support number after 2.5 hrs on hold I gave up. I tried emailing, even the email states email will take longer than normal to answer. Is Ridgid failing??? This is the second year I have had this issue.
2 repair places in Michigan. Been waiting since September of 2023 for my 1/2" impact. Today is March 8, 2024.... Repair"shop" is 48 miles away. Run down sh1t hole of a business. Mountains of tools laying around waiting for repairs.
I never see you do any reviews on Porter Cable tools are they a lower type or lower class tool? Did you ever do any reviews on them products? Just wondering are they any good ?😊
They were once the brand of the day... back in the day. Not sure why, but they sorta just went away. It's a shame, but unfortunately they just disappeared
My issue with Ridgid is the same as Kobalt. It's a house brand. Only available at Home Depot. That's the only pro Milwaukee and Dewalt have over them. I can go to tractor supply ace hardware etc and get whatever I need.
Does anyone know how long it takes for them to approve the LSA? I registered my product the day after I bought it. Submitted my receipt. It has been showing "pending LSA" for a couple of weeks now.
Yeah Ryobi gave me contact numbers email etc, then just ghosted me, then i am now past the warranty period and still no responses, never had a ridgid problem yet, Milwaukee just asked the part number and sent me a new one, dewalt no problems yet…
For someone who seems so picky about correct name use (Riobi not reeobee) don’t you think it’s time to start using the proper pronunciation of Milwaukee( not Milwauk Eye Ay) Companies spend lots of cash to create brand recognition. Enough already! By the way, I have heard a Ryobi rep saying it Ree o Bee.
needed a tool sent out for repair. No one would do it locally within 200 miles. Its been a shit show and they are giving me the runaround. Horrible customer service.
Agreed that their plumbing tools are pro, but it's a different line as their power tools. Even Ridgid calls themselves pro-sumer. They are owned made by TTI and Milwaukee is the pro line, ryobi is their DIY
Do NOT buy Ridgid! Been using Ridgid for 15 years and their tool quality and service has nosedived in the last few years after Emerson acquired them. I currently have had tools in for service for months with no update. Their online system won’t update my address, and they tell me to “wait and hopefully the issue will resolve itself”. Their new tools are poorly designed, parts break off, they cut out electrically when the job needs more power. Don’t jump on board their sinking ship.
Don't believe the Hype, MY ridged tools suck drill and driver. give me a tool that works and lasts, lifetime service is a pain in the A$$, who has the time to spend, I took them to HD, and they say they no longer replace the batteries, ok so now I have to go online, ship the tool and wait.

Repair"shop" is 48 miles away. Run down sh1t hole of a business. Mountains of tools laying around waiting for repairs.
That new LSA is only applicable to USA though
I never see you do any reviews on Porter Cable tools are they a lower type or lower class tool? Did you ever do any reviews on them products? Just wondering are they any good ?😊
They were once the brand of the day... back in the day. Not sure why, but they sorta just went away. It's a shame, but unfortunately they just disappeared
My issue with Ridgid is the same as Kobalt. It's a house brand. Only available at Home Depot. That's the only pro Milwaukee and Dewalt have over them. I can go to tractor supply ace hardware etc and get whatever I need.
It said you warranty expires in 2025 ? What's up with that.
I registered my Ridgid jointer. I’d be curious how they would handle “free” shipping for a 200 pound tool. 😂
Does anyone know how long it takes for them to approve the LSA? I registered my product the day after I bought it. Submitted my receipt. It has been showing "pending LSA" for a couple of weeks now.
Should not take that long. I know they updated the system, so I would call or email them and let them know what's going on
I never made it past the Terms of Agreement. Never sign an agreement asking you to waive your rights.
Yeah Ryobi gave me contact numbers email etc, then just ghosted me, then i am now past the warranty period and still no responses, never had a ridgid problem yet, Milwaukee just asked the part number and sent me a new one, dewalt no problems yet…
Interesting 🤔
I think only half my ridgid tools are registered.
I have 47 registered 😳
Dayuuum
@@ToolReviewZone by the way they have a new battery line coming out
Too late.. team red now
For someone who seems so picky about correct name use (Riobi not reeobee) don’t you think it’s time to start using the proper pronunciation of Milwaukee( not Milwauk Eye Ay) Companies spend lots of cash to create brand recognition. Enough already! By the way, I have heard a Ryobi rep saying it Ree o Bee.
Too good to be true?
needed a tool sent out for repair. No one would do it locally within 200 miles. Its been a shit show and they are giving me the runaround. Horrible customer service.
Ridgid for the loss ya heard me
Ridgid is not prosumer. It’s pro. I’m a pro and have been using them for many years. Some of their plumbing tools are the best in the industry.
