Eva didnt do well cause they didn't go for the lewd. Surprised re zero didnt teach them that. Eva fit fine asthetically but not in vision. They should go for something that would actually be able to deliver on the lewd. Hotd, DxD, maybe even a game like action tamienen (sure i spelled that wrong) would be good choices.
Total gems and tickets spent will be a better measure of the attractiveness of an event than the revenue. Because people might be using a lot of free resources saved up. Nikkes pricing severely punishes those who want to backload their spending at a single event. So players are incentivised to spend a moderate amounts continuously and take advantage of the "deals" when they are available instead of only spending on the 1 event they care about. Say for example I didn't spend any real money on Bunny Sodas event but spent what would be valued as hundreds of dollars of game currency that I saved up. Me having to top up months later by buying the "step up" deal is directly because of Soda/Sodas event and not because of the event running alongside the "step up" deal. The money I spent wouldn't get reflected by the revenue earned the month the event was run, but was still directly because of it.
I do wish they would do collabs series that already has fanservice in it or the IP owner has no problem with their characters being used for fanservice. Like bro, a Konosuba collab would go hard and could top the April Fools event. I'm on my hands and knees begging for an monogatari x nikke collab.
I heard that Shift Up was going to establish a branch in LA. I'm not against growth, but I'd like to be careful about how I go about it. From the things I hear people say about how entertainment coming from the far-west of the US usually ends up being awful when released, I can only hope that Shift Up doesn't lose the image they've built up for their real customers so far.
Itll be hard for sure. LA is an epicenter for this problem. Going public also takes some of the power out of their hands. Only hope is they realize fanservice is the source of their success.
See GoGo's latest. Shift-Up has officially denied this info. Original source was a piece in EuroGamer, which is basically EU Kotaku. SU could be lying, but I doubt it. They would have detailed it in the investor call if it was true.
Eva was dogwater for fanservice, and I'm glad to see them officially recognize the problem. That said, the entire thing was low effort garbage, not just the character appeal. Remember, Eva launched in place of what would have been summer part II. The direct comparison is Eva vs. Sea You Again. SYA was fully voiced, massive map, staggeringly good story, great minigame, and summer helm / summer anis. Eva was....none of thise things. I said in the survey and I'll say it again, everyone at SU who thought releasing that dogwater was going to print fat stacks should be firmly invited to find new employment.
For me. I dropped off Nikke then to return for 2nd Ani for 2 reasons. I been waiting for the Stellar Blade colab but we got EVA one. Now i loved EVA back in the day but while was playing and doing the story. I thought it was bad and really didn't care too much for it or the characters. Story events have been getting bad till Old Tales really stepped it up in a major way. The quality of the characters outside of Quency, Ein and Zwei (With Zwei great design, awful kit same with Clay) have been getting worse. Coin Rush was fantastic but Rouge should have been a pull during that event as her own event story i found was bad and killed her aura. Summer event was alright but it been a noticeable downgrade until 2nd Ani. Shift Up need to think about doing something with Nikke to be more broader like a Path of Exile 2 or The First Descendent type game in the future. See how the new Project Witches looks but the fact Stellar Blade is coming very close to the finances per quarter for a half year old game compared to Nikke. And a free to play game like TFD made £121 million in 3 months. They might need to look at what they can do in the future. Just my view of course. I love Shift Up but with the talent they have. They can and should being doing something better with Nikke.
I've been actively playing since release, and with the side stories, I'll be honest I barely pay attention to them. The main story is the most important, and the way I've looked at any side stories is just filler meant to make these characters not so static in terms of a pretty model. As for collab, I don't really care about story; the reason being is its hard to justify since it's so short and the content is dependant on the audience having some basic knowledge about the collab characters. You go into these collabs, either a fan or not, and it's rare for someone to come out of the collab and wanna check out the source material. What I really want from Shift Up is more focus on continuing the main story and not waiting 4 - 6 months for updates to it. Old Tales becomes even better supplementary material when you go from past to present and see what these characters are doing.

Shift Up has recently confirmed that those reports are NOT true. They do not have any plans currently to establish an LA branch.

It's been confirmed completely false so no worries.
@@Azel49 from looking at it, it was the same rumour from months ago. The journos are trying to spur confusion again
one important thing to note they are covering just profit not pure sales
If they had brought Mogudan to design the Eva girl it would´ve sold well. I love Eva and I got 1 copy of the girls but the skins didn´t do for me.
