Ok but Sean calling out all his bad decisions ahead of time, but doing it anyway and then being flabbergasted by how horrible the decision was…is so ironic and makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time
yeah, i had watched his original play through about a month ago, so it's funny to see him either making the exact same choices as before, or making different choices (like the Save Emily choice) that years ago, he had said were bad decisions
yeah, I know it was years ago but I find it crazy that he doesn't remember some of these choices at all. A lot of his decisions will probably be exactly the same as the first playthrough, which is unfortunate, but at least still fun to watch.

I waited all these years for Jack to befriend the wolfie. He replays the game and does the exact same thing 🗿 Edit: Not trying to make Jack feel bad though(not that it will). I was pumped when I saw the first video of him playing this game again. This just shows he's a cat person
I hope he befriended the wolf. Last time, he didn't kick them and the butterfly effect went off. I'm really worried it's going to be worse when the part it matters for comes up.
I think the idea behind the 18 "missing" miners is that the 12 survivors ate them. it says they were found surprisingly well fed despite being held underground for 3 weeks, and it can be inferred that one of them attacked and ate another patient in the sanitarium
If I remember correctly, isn’t the lore of wendigos that they’re transformed due to cannibalism? Maybe I’m remembering wrong, but I could have sworn that’s what it was. I remember having that realization moment that it also meant Hannah would have eaten parts of Beth in an attempt to survive.

The native tribes that originally lived there didn't hunt on or harm the mountain as they believed doing so would unleash a horrible curse. European miners found the mountain, and wanted to make their fortune so they excavated it and found lots of minerals. As they did this to the mountain, it released the wendigo spirits. So then when a person cannibalises another person, after a while they turn into a wendigo. This happened to the miners, as they became cannibals to survive, but when they were saved they started to turn aggressive and attacked the staff. One of the dead bodies in the sanitorium was part eaten because of them. The sanitorium kept these miners in their facility and started experiments on them, explaining the bloodied restraining chair (and a video tape I believe?). So Hannah must've eaten parts of Beth to try and live, but ultimately ended up a wendigo. Same with Josh I think. I spent ages on the Until Dawn Wiki a while ago and wanted to share! lol

The only reason this series isnt doing as well as other videos is because it's a replay. Either people have stopped watching to watch the original playthrough first or they just have no interest in watching someone replay a game since the person playing knows what happens. For the almost a million people that are tuning in to this one, please continue it. You're halfway through it. It's only an extra 3 videos and I'd love to see the rest. It's my all time fav game.
exactly! i actually am rlly enjoying this replay because jacks personality is way different than it used to be when the game first came out. For me, this replay is super entertaining as it feels like a whole new experience because of that. I rlly hope he continues!

@@CatChaos369 When the tower starts to fall, you can try to help Emily the first time but the second time it gives you the option you have to jump. I'm not sure if Emily survives either way but I know on that second attempt Matt survives.
Ya I was surprised how quickly some of my opinions changed throughout the game. Although I still don’t like Mike he did prove his ability to survive in a shitty situation and for the most part he had the interest of his friends at heart. (Also was willing to run after Jessica despite a clearly abnormal being got to her). Sam didn’t do much but she seemed to be the most logical one out of them while Emily was able to retain her sanity while being the first one to confront the wendigo. Ashley on the other hand was just awful. I liked her at first but the more the game went on she just kept whining and not helping in the slightest. She was just deadweight. I understand that she’s scared and not everyone can be calm in that situation but in that case the least she can do is shut the hell up and let the others take the lead.
I loved seeing the different sides of them how sure they’re all pissed at Josh but are willing to go and save him. Emily stays rational throughout as does Matt Mike and Sam. Ashley becomes a bit hysterical but who can blame her poor girls nerves are shot and Jessica becomes so quiet from I assume shock bless her

If you *As Matt* refuse to go to the tower, he won't shoot the flare when Emily gives it to him; therefore, when he is attacked, you have the option to flare the Wendigo or allow Matt to die a painful terrible death.
True - but I think this is the point where the game is unfair. You can't save Matt through any wise decision making or quick reflexes as usual, it all just depends on a lineup of obscure coincidences. He's not just difficult to save, he's impossible to save unless you have previous knowledge of the game's tricks.
I recently went back to see his first play through and I don’t think he even found the flare gun, and Matt didn’t die either. Is the flare gun the butterfly effect that makes the wendigo go towards them?

How to save Mike's finger: a) obviously don't inspect the contraption at all because it's not important for the rest of the game. b) choose to "open bear trap" three times. Mike will be able to free himself unharmed. The cutscenes with the wolf perspective are just there to trick you to be quick and amputate the finger, but the wolf will never appear.
honestly it doesn't matter much whether you amputate or save the finger, imo it's honestly better to keep the machete than worry about keeping your fingers since you can use it to save yourself later

The amount of comments harassing him for a new video and complaining that he wasn't going to finish it on the second episode was so horrible. And again on this video so many freaking comments. Do you guys realize he has a life outside of this? He can't be doing this all the time. It's also really easy to get bored of something for a little bit and want to play other things in between. That's normal and fine and you guys are being annoying. It took less than 2 weeks for Jack to upload the third episode and still on the second episode seemingly three quarters of the comments are people complaining. That’s what I don’t get about it, and he did the same thing in the OG play through if I remember correctly. If you want to befriend something, shouldn’t kicking it be an obviously bad choice? And Jack has, previously in the play through, chosen to NOT do things even when he’s prompted to - so he clearly knows that he doesn’t have to actually do everything that’s prompted. I don’t understand how he can be so dense when it comes to not kicking the wolf...
That's cause it's such a hilariously ridiculous line that makes no sense and the quarry kept harping on it the entire time he was playing it I mean come on if something is that ridiculous you can't help but meme the crap out of it just like Emily's it's just a prank han when stuff like that comes around it sticks with you. this is my first time seeing the game be played, and i’m really enjoying this series. I really hope he continues it, because just like a few months-a year ago, he started at dead of night but quit after 2 videos. i loved marks play through of at dead of night and i was excited for jacks but he ended it and i hope it doesn’t happen again lol

The reason Matt died is because 1. You agreed with Emily about going to the fire tower. 2. You chose not to jump to safety as Matt. If you disagree about going to the fire tower, they go anyway, but then if you give Matt the flare gun as Emily, he doesn't shoot it right away. This way, even if you do choose to save Emily, Matt has the flare gun to use still and can shoot at the Wendigo. If not, what you saw, happens
This is probably the dumbest death in the game, to be frank. There is no possible way anyone could know that this sequence of events is required to save Matt.

@@draig8259 it's even worse because it would have been so easy to just have a player choice in whether or not matt fires the flare gun, and it would have been way more logical for a player to think they might need it combatively later. rather than a dialogue choice that doesn't connect to the flare gun being the deciding factor.

Hey Jack, a common theory is that the therapy sessions in the destroyed/ abandoned room are made up in the head while the ones in a nice room are sessions that happened in real life
Imo it doesn’t make sense that any of the therapy sessions were real bc they all took place when Josh was already up at the lodge. Plus the room already starts getting creepy elements by like the second time we see it

When Sean had mentioned how poorly the second episode of this had done -and that he had considered not doing another - I was, selfishly, pretty disappointed. I love the long videos and was really looking forward to this one. Even if it doesn't get the views of his other content, I am so very happy and grateful that he decided to continue it.
I also hate how they show all of the totems after you make the choices that you needed those totems for. If you have Matt say no to the fire tower, then the flare gun isn’t used and he is saved. It’s really stupid.
@@monsterhanna6691 I know they don’t guarantee anything what I’m trying to say is that they show you Emily handing the flare gun to Matt after they have gone to the cable car which usually persuades players to make that choice later on when they have already made the choice of whether Matt uses it or not right away. I gives expectations which then goes awry if you haven’t already made the right choice. Does that make sense?
I don't know if anyone else has realized this but every time there is a therapy session with Dr. Hill his office reflects whatever environment Josh would be in, for example after Josh gets "sawed" in half the office reflects that creepy barn he was in or later after Chris has to shoot himself or Ashley the office reflects the Psychos lair with all the cameras, showing that Josh is in his lair when he's having that hallucination. The changing office is so minor but once you realize what's going on it becomes painstakingly obvious that it was a clue from the start, the level of detail that the devs put into this game is insane.

@@sao0 if im not mistaken, Chris was asleep because he was drinking. Probably both Josh AND Chris were drinking and fell asleep. He probably blames Chris cuz if he hadn't drank so much, he wouldn't have fallen asleep and he would've been there to save his sisters. Also I feel he blames Sam cuz she knew about it and didn't say anything (not until it happened, i got mad at her for that. like she had plenty of time to get there, yet she managed to get there just after it happened. I got so upset, she could've ran, she could've shouted louder, she could've done so many things and actively stop that from happening)
I feel like matt is always the hardest for a lot of people to save because they always try to save Emily resulting it Matt's death, unless you did a super specific dialog matt would save ammo in the flare gun to defend himself, and the other way to save them is to not safe Emily and jump to safety which is hard for a lot of people cause they want to save everyone
I half wonder if the devs deliberately made the first option you mentioned so convaluded and difficult to obtain because they just expected players to cast the b***h that is Emily aside the first chance they got.
It's convoluted, yes, however Matt is described as a coward somewhere earlier in the game, and in Until Dawn, sticking to the character archetypes usually pays off well
It sucks too because you're severely punished for pressing the save option, whether it's with Emily or Jess. I think that is why a lot of people mess up the last scene at the house when you have to save Mike cuz the player always gets screwed by pressing the save option.
I honestly feel the opposite because all instincts point toward leaving her when she's a bitch to him trying to even figure out how to save her. Plus at those moments it makes you feel like you need to save either Matt or Emily and with how unnecessarily bitchy they make her most people pick Matt every time.

I’ve played through this game multiple times, watched multiple peoples playthroughs and NEVER ONCE did it occur to me that that’s a wendigo trap. I was always wondering what purpose that served & after my first play through just ignored it 🤣
@@kellaylaycx the first time i watched a playthrough of the game i assumed it was josh's for some reason? i thought to myself "well that's dumb, why would he set that up in the sanatorium when he isn't focused on messing with mike and jess at the moment? and he isn't trying to seriously hurt anyone, this is extremely out of character." and then the second time i watched a playthrough i realized it was probably legit human flesh and considering that's where flamethrower guy is keeping the wendigos, it makes a lot more sense.
So the flare gun: This is the most difficult butterfly effect to manage and predict. If you, the player, as Matt decide to agree with Em about calling for help at the fire tower, he will shoot the flare gun if you give it to him. This is because if he believes there is help at the fire tower, his character's logic will change, promptly making him shoot the gun. If he disagrees initially and Em decides to give it to him, he has something to defend himself later...(SPOILER)... When Matt tries to save Emily both times on the fallen tower and he still has the gun, that is the only way he can survive the Wendigo attack. If he chooses to save himself and not Emily, he won't even have to use the gun.
I remember Jack literally saying "Screw Em" from the previous playthrough and surviving, then mentioning that the comments said he'd have died if he tried saving her in the next playthrough. It's great to see how Jack evolved overtime lol... From making bad decisions leading to good consequences to the complete opposite LOL
i think its so hilarious how mike, despite having JUST lost some fingers to a bear trap, continues to casually stick his hands into the most suspicious slots and crevices known to man. theres a joke in there somewhere.

@@anthonypeavy7663 he did mention that if he were to continue the series with that amount of views dropping drastically and continuously + its length, youtube's algorithm would interpret it as subscribers not wanting to watch his channel anymore, therefore not catering his next videos on subscriber's feed or box. That can kill his channel. As much as he wants to play the game, he needs to be smart about it and not post the series as often.

It's true, he doesn't want to harm anyone but emotionally as vengeance for his sisters. Josh's prank is a sub-plot within the true menance as are the wendigos

For everyone who didn’t watch the livestream he said he was debating on whether or not to post the third part because the second part did so poorly that it could affect the content around it. (I’m not a RUclips stats person so someone can probably explain this in more detail) but basically it was one of the worst releases on his channel in years and he didn’t want it to drag down the videos around it. I’m glad he decided to release it anyways though, it’s one of my favorite games and series on his channel!

I don't know about other people but I stopped watching after the first video because the series stopped, kinda made me sad about the channel. I watched Stray but nothing else since. I only popped in for this video to see if he mentioned in the beginning why it took so long. I wouldn't expect the series to get as many views as the first time and thought Jack was playing it only because he wanted to but seeing this post that he almost stopped from lack of views is disappointing. Think about when you played games you wanted no matter what (like Bloodbourne), tried unheard of games that were suggested (like undertale) but don't bail on something you wanted to do because it's "not doing well". For me it's about confidence in the product, you like a game- then play it, show us, tell us why you like it, to hell whether it does great or poorly. The opposite holds true as well, don't like a game, even if it's popular, then say so, don't praise it, mention more videos and never return to it. There's single video let's plays talking about how you loved the game, wanted to play more and nothing. Comments still come in wanting more and it's most likely because the hope is there. But now I'm ranting and will quit before I go over board
Damn-guess my intuition was right-I wasn’t gonna watch this play through but I didn’t know why. Now, three weeks (and some change) later, I finally watch it, thinking it’s definitely finished, right? But NO, it’s not! 😭 I’m not mad, I’m just left in suspense! Sure I could look at his old play through, but still, this play through is essentially a different timeline, an alternate reality, if you will, and unless he finishes it, these characters will be forever frozen in time-no closure for anybody
Same thing I waited to binge watch it today then I'm ready to watch episode 4 oh but wait it doesn't exist. I already watched a let's play when the game came out so I want to watch this one where he's talking about the spoilers and how we could've guessed them from the start but I also don't remember everything so I want to see how it ends. I would have to start a new let's play from 0 if I really wanted to since there's so many different things to do. In conclusion, my satisfaction is in Jack's hands.
There's a prequel to Until Dawn called "The Inpatient". It's set 60 years before Until Dawn, and gives some lore to the Wendigo curse in the mountains. If you're looking for more games to play like Until Dawn, I highly suggest you give this a whirl - we'd love to see you play more of the lore!
There's also a VR game for PS4 set on a Rollercoaster called "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood". "The Impatient" was kind of lame, I'm sorry to say. I could also recommend "Hidden Agenda" for it's unique multiplayer.

I watched the earlier playthrough before watching this one. Both are good, though I prefer this one. It's fun seeing which reactions are the same and which are different, and how your decision-making has changed (and how it hasn't!). Some differences: you're more considered and methodical in this playthrough (taking time to explore, find totems, process decision options), you had Sam hide from Josh this time, you had Matt persist in saving Emily this time (which gets him killed, jumping to safety would have saved him), you chose clowns as the main scary thing last time (scarecrows this time), you found Beth's phone this time, you made friends with wolfie despite kicking it, you didn't kill a deer this time, and your commentary covers more of the development aspects of the game, rather than raw reaction to the game. None of this is bad, just different and interesting to watch. Your commentary is great both times. Jokes remain consistently awesome, but what I really like is seeing is you bringing seven years' life experience to this playthrough. You notice more about the characters' psychology and how they interact with each other and the plot. Some examples: you notice how toxic Emily and Matt's relationship is, and you made a poignant observation in the first video, about Josh, that one year isn't really long enough to get over a loss like his. It isn't. It's part of foreshadowing the reveal of his mental break, but you didn't notice it (or if you did, you didn't mention it) first time around. It shows a lot of personal growth to see new things in a previously-played game. My favourite character: Sam's towel. All the tenacity of superglue. Seriously, I'm split between Sam and Mike. They get on with things without too much whining - the trauma comes later, you see it during the credits if they live. Emily annoys me, but I also like her. Her main trait is being resourceful, and that can look like getting other people to do the dirty work for her until there's no other choice ;) Dr Hall is an abysmal psychiatrist; Josh never had a chance. The acting is so good in this game. Adding my vote to you continuing this playthrough!

So to save Matt here's what you did wrong: 1) Call Emily's plan of going to the watchtower stupid so that when you give Matt the flare gun he doesn't fire it in the air when Emily tells him to and instead saves it to give you a shot to save Matt (which if you aren't quick enough at the QTE, still results in his death), but if done right, Matt lives having tried twice to save Emily and almost died for it. Emily still hates you and doesn't give you any credit for the heroics, she acts like you did 2) so you might as well do 2). 2) Jump to safety. Fuck that bitch. She can't die until around chapter 7 or 8 I believe. This is one of the most common deaths in the game, the other one is when people don't realize that there's a path to safety that they can walk so they don'y unlock a fatal door after they realize they've made a fatal mistake investigating a noise as Ashley later in the game. Best of luck, try not to repeat any more deaths, lol.

I think the idea behind the 18 "missing" miners is that the 12 survivors ate them. it says they were found surprisingly well fed despite being held underground for 3 weeks, and it can be inferred that one of them attacked and ate another patient in the sanitarium

If I remember correctly, isn’t the lore of wendigos that they’re transformed due to cannibalism? Maybe I’m remembering wrong, but I could have sworn that’s what it was. I remember having that realization moment that it also meant Hannah would have eaten parts of Beth in an attempt to survive.

The native tribes that originally lived there didn't hunt on or harm the mountain as they believed doing so would unleash a horrible curse. European miners found the mountain, and wanted to make their fortune so they excavated it and found lots of minerals. As they did this to the mountain, it released the wendigo spirits. So then when a person cannibalises another person, after a while they turn into a wendigo. This happened to the miners, as they became cannibals to survive, but when they were saved they started to turn aggressive and attacked the staff. One of the dead bodies in the sanitorium was part eaten because of them. The sanitorium kept these miners in their facility and started experiments on them, explaining the bloodied restraining chair (and a video tape I believe?). So Hannah must've eaten parts of Beth to try and live, but ultimately ended up a wendigo. Same with Josh I think. I spent ages on the Until Dawn Wiki a while ago and wanted to share! lol

Either people have stopped watching to watch the original playthrough first or they just have no interest in watching someone replay a game since the person playing knows what happens. Ya I was surprised how quickly some of my opinions changed throughout the game. Although I still don’t like Mike he did prove his ability to survive in a shitty situation and for the most part he had the interest of his friends at heart. (Also was willing to run after Jessica despite a clearly abnormal being got to her). Sam didn’t do much but she seemed to be the most logical one out of them while Emily was able to retain her sanity while being the first one to confront the wendigo. Ashley on the other hand was just awful. I liked her at first but the more the game went on she just kept whining and not helping in the slightest. She was just deadweight. I understand that she’s scared and not everyone can be calm in that situation but in that case the least she can do is shut the hell up and let the others take the lead.

If you *As Matt* refuse to go to the tower, he won't shoot the flare when Emily gives it to him; therefore, when he is attacked, you have the option to flare the Wendigo or allow Matt to die a painful terrible death.

True - but I think this is the point where the game is unfair. You can't save Matt through any wise decision making or quick reflexes as usual, it all just depends on a lineup of obscure coincidences. He's not just difficult to save, he's impossible to save unless you have previous knowledge of the game's tricks.

How to save Mike's finger:
a) obviously don't inspect the contraption at all because it's not important for the rest of the game.
b) choose to "open bear trap" three times. Mike will be able to free himself unharmed. The cutscenes with the wolf perspective are just there to trick you to be quick and amputate the finger, but the wolf will never appear.
But why save them? He's a more likable character without them.

The amount of comments harassing him for a new video and complaining that he wasn't going to finish it on the second episode was so horrible. And again on this video so many freaking comments. Do you guys realize he has a life outside of this? He can't be doing this all the time. It's also really easy to get bored of something for a little bit and want to play other things in between. That's normal and fine and you guys are being annoying. It took less than 2 weeks for Jack to upload the third episode and still on the second episode seemingly three quarters of the comments are people complaining. Do you guys realize that putting pressure on him makes him less likely to continue? I get that you guys like the series I like it too, I get that you want him to continue I want him to too, I get that it's hard to be patient, I'm horribly impatient. But it seems that you guys lack empathy for him as a person. He stated multiple times that the pressure of this job has caused him severe depression and stress and he had to take a break because of it. But you guys continue to harass him like this. The best thing that anyone (let alone everyone) can achieve by posting a comment like this is absolutely nothing and the worst thing that it can do is make Jack feel stressed out and bad about himself and like he's not doing enough. The reason Matt died is because
1. You agreed with Emily about going to the fire tower.
2. You chose not to jump to safety as Matt.
If you disagree about going to the fire tower, they go anyway, but then if you give Matt the flare gun as Emily, he doesn't shoot it right away. This way, even if you do choose to save Emily, Matt has the flare gun to use still and can shoot at the Wendigo. If not, what you saw, happens
This is probably the dumbest death in the game, to be frank. There is no possible way anyone could know that this sequence of events is required to save Matt.

@@draig8259 it's even worse because it would have been so easy to just have a player choice in whether or not matt fires the flare gun, and it would have been way more logical for a player to think they might need it combatively later. rather than a dialogue choice that doesn't connect to the flare gun being the deciding factor.

Hey Jack, a common theory is that the therapy sessions in the destroyed/ abandoned room are made up in the head while the ones in a nice room are sessions that happened in real life
i think it was all in josh's head, and each session is showing how his mental status is declining over time, resulting in a destroyed room.

Well Josh has schizophrenia, so they could be real but the objects are in his head.
When Sean had mentioned how poorly the second episode of this had done -and that he had considered not doing another - I was, selfishly, pretty disappointed. I love the long videos and was really looking forward to this one. Even if it doesn't get the views of his other content, I am so very happy and grateful that he decided to continue it.

I don't know if anyone else has realized this but every time there is a therapy session with Dr. Hill his office reflects whatever environment Josh would be in, for example after Josh gets "sawed" in half the office reflects that creepy barn he was in or later after Chris has to shoot himself or Ashley the office reflects the Psychos lair with all the cameras, showing that Josh is in his lair when he's having that hallucination. The changing office is so minor but once you realize what's going on it becomes painstakingly obvious that it was a clue from the start, the level of detail that the devs put into this game is insane.

He probably blames Chris cuz if he hadn't drank so much, he wouldn't have fallen asleep and he would've been there to save his sisters. Also I feel he blames Sam cuz she knew about it and didn't say anything (not until it happened, i got mad at her for that. like she had plenty of time to get there, yet she managed to get there just after it happened. I got so upset, she could've ran, she could've shouted louder, she could've done so many things and actively stop that from happening)
I feel like matt is always the hardest for a lot of people to save because they always try to save Emily resulting it Matt's death, unless you did a super specific dialog matt would save ammo in the flare gun to defend himself, and the other way to save them is to not safe Emily and jump to safety which is hard for a lot of people cause they want to save everyone
I half wonder if the devs deliberately made the first option you mentioned so convaluded and difficult to obtain because they just expected players to cast the b***h that is Emily aside the first chance they got.
It's convoluted, yes, however Matt is described as a coward somewhere earlier in the game, and in Until Dawn, sticking to the character archetypes usually pays off well
It sucks too because you're severely punished for pressing the save option, whether it's with Emily or Jess. I think that is why a lot of people mess up the last scene at the house when you have to save Mike cuz the player always gets screwed by pressing the save option.
I honestly feel the opposite because all instincts point toward leaving her when she's a bitch to him trying to even figure out how to save her. Plus at those moments it makes you feel like you need to save either Matt or Emily and with how unnecessarily bitchy they make her most people pick Matt every time.

I’ve played through this game multiple times, watched multiple peoples playthroughs and NEVER ONCE did it occur to me that that’s a wendigo trap. I was always wondering what purpose that served & after my first play through just ignored it 🤣

So the flare gun:
This is the most difficult butterfly effect to manage and predict.
If you, the player, as Matt decide to agree with Em about calling for help at the fire tower, he will shoot the flare gun if you give it to him. This is because if he believes there is help at the fire tower, his character's logic will change, promptly making him shoot the gun. If he disagrees initially and Em decides to give it to him, he has something to defend himself later...(SPOILER)...
When Matt tries to save Emily both times on the fallen tower and he still has the gun, that is the only way he can survive the Wendigo attack. If he chooses to save himself and not Emily, he won't even have to use the gun.

The amount of comments harassing him for a new video and complaining that he wasn't going to finish it on the second episode was so horrible. And again on this video so many freaking comments. Do you guys realize he has a life outside of this? He can't be doing this all the time. It's also really easy to get bored of something for a little bit and want to play other things in between. That's normal and fine and you guys are being annoying. It took less than 2 weeks for Jack to upload the third episode and still on the second episode seemingly three quarters of the comments are people complaining. Do you guys realize that putting pressure on him makes him less likely to continue? I get that you guys like the series I like it too, I get that you want him to continue I want him to too, I get that it's hard to be patient, I'm horribly impatient. But it seems that you guys lack empathy for him as a person. He stated multiple times that the pressure of this job has caused him severe depression and stress and he had to take a break because of it. But you guys continue to harass him like this. The best thing that anyone (let alone everyone) can achieve by posting a comment like this is absolutely nothing and the worst thing that it can do is make Jack feel stressed out and bad about himself and like he's not doing enough. For everyone who didn’t watch the livestream he said he was debating on whether or not to post the third part because the second part did so poorly that it could affect the content around it. (I’m not a RUclips stats person so someone can probably explain this in more detail) but basically it was one of the worst releases on his channel in years and he didn’t want it to drag down the videos around it. I’m glad he decided to release it anyways though, it’s one of my favorite games and series on his channel!

I don't know about other people but I stopped watching after the first video because the series stopped, kinda made me sad about the channel. I watched Stray but nothing else since. I only popped in for this video to see if he mentioned in the beginning why it took so long. I wouldn't expect the series to get as many views as the first time and thought Jack was playing it only because he wanted to but seeing this post that he almost stopped from lack of views is disappointing. Think about when you played games you wanted no matter what (like Bloodbourne), tried unheard of games that were suggested (like undertale) but don't bail on something you wanted to do because it's "not doing well". For me it's about confidence in the product, you like a game- then play it, show us, tell us why you like it, to hell whether it does great or poorly. The opposite holds true as well, don't like a game, even if it's popular, then say so, don't praise it, mention more videos and never return to it. There's single video let's plays talking about how you loved the game, wanted to play more and nothing. Comments still come in wanting more and it's most likely because the hope is there. But now I'm ranting and will quit before I go over board
Damn-guess my intuition was right-I wasn’t gonna watch this play through but I didn’t know why. Now, three weeks (and some change) later, I finally watch it, thinking it’s definitely finished, right? But NO, it’s not! 😭 I’m not mad, I’m just left in suspense! Sure I could look at his old play through, but still, this play through is essentially a different timeline, an alternate reality, if you will, and unless he finishes it, these characters will be forever frozen in time-no closure for anybody
Same thing I waited to binge watch it today then I'm ready to watch episode 4 oh but wait it doesn't exist. I already watched a let's play when the game came out so I want to watch this one where he's talking about the spoilers and how we could've guessed them from the start but I also don't remember everything so I want to see how it ends. I would have to start a new let's play from 0 if I really wanted to since there's so many different things to do. In conclusion, my satisfaction is in Jack's hands.

There's a prequel to Until Dawn called "The Inpatient". It's set 60 years before Until Dawn, and gives some lore to the Wendigo curse in the mountains. If you're looking for more games to play like Until Dawn, I highly suggest you give this a whirl - we'd love to see you play more of the lore!

I watched the earlier playthrough before watching this one. Both are good, though I prefer this one. It's fun seeing which reactions are the same and which are different, and how your decision-making has changed (and how it hasn't!). Some differences: you're more considered and methodical in this playthrough (taking time to explore, find totems, process decision options), you had Sam hide from Josh this time, you had Matt persist in saving Emily this time (which gets him killed, jumping to safety would have saved him), you chose clowns as the main scary thing last time (scarecrows this time), you found Beth's phone this time, you made friends with wolfie despite kicking it, you didn't kill a deer this time, and your commentary covers more of the development aspects of the game, rather than raw reaction to the game. None of this is bad, just different and interesting to watch.
Your commentary is great both times. Jokes remain consistently awesome, but what I really like is seeing is you bringing seven years' life experience to this playthrough. You notice more about the characters' psychology and how they interact with each other and the plot. Some examples: you notice how toxic Emily and Matt's relationship is, and you made a poignant observation in the first video, about Josh, that one year isn't really long enough to get over a loss like his. It isn't. It's part of foreshadowing the reveal of his mental break, but you didn't notice it (or if you did, you didn't mention it) first time around. It shows a lot of personal growth to see new things in a previously-played game.
My favourite character: Sam's towel. All the tenacity of superglue.
Seriously, I'm split between Sam and Mike. They get on with things without too much whining - the trauma comes later, you see it during the credits if they live. Emily annoys me, but I also like her. Her main trait is being resourceful, and that can look like getting other people to do the dirty work for her until there's no other choice ;) Dr Hall is an abysmal psychiatrist; Josh never had a chance. The acting is so good in this game.

Dr. Hall isn't a psychologist at all, he is a figment of Josh's imagination. He is calling himself a psychopath.

I can imagine it took quite a bit of courage to post this when you know how badly the second video did stats-wise, but I'm very happy you did! I can't play horror games myself (overactive imagination means I can't sleep) so I love watching you play these games ('watching' used loosely here as I normally wait for something to happen and then rewind expecting a jumpscare or something) so you're the way I take in these kinds of games :) Thank you!
Tbh I don’t think he cares about the view count as he isn’t making any revenue from these anyway because of copyright. I think he’s just playing it because of nostalgia and he wants to.
@@Heleighnaa He wrote on Twitter he was debating not continuing, not so much because of the revenue but because one bad video can make it easier for RUclips and the RUclips algorithm to not push his content out to (potential new) viewers because it's seen as not being "in" and popular. Therefore the whole channel could be affected, not just these few videos :(

did this series die out? i was on it bruh the nostalgia is unreal and it reminds me of happier times man i really hope this series continues I've always been that distant fan until recently, definitely through the quarry I've come to really enjoy your content. So to save Matt here's what you did wrong:
1) Call Emily's plan of going to the watchtower stupid so that when you give Matt the flare gun he doesn't fire it in the air when Emily tells him to and instead saves it to give you a shot to save Matt (which if you aren't quick enough at the QTE, still results in his death), but if done right, Matt lives having tried twice to save Emily and almost died for it. Emily still hates you and doesn't give you any credit for the heroics, she acts like you did 2) so you might as well do 2).
2) Jump to safety. Fuck that bitch. She can't die until around chapter 7 or 8 I believe.
This is one of the most common deaths in the game, the other one is when people don't realize that there's a path to safety that they can walk so they don'y unlock a fatal door after they realize they've made a fatal mistake investigating a noise as Ashley later in the game.

He could if he did though, but it breaks the game at the end credits scene because then Emily says "you didn't try to save her as Matt" when you made every effort.

Flares are a one shot thing so he already used his shot. He would just be carrying around an empty gun without a flare in it.
