But as time passes, children grow up, adults grow old, and soon there are more empty chairs than family around the table. Traditions get forgotten. It warms my heart to see that your family keeps the traditions alive, and values the importance of family. Thank you for sharing. Nice to meet the extended family. Great tree; can't wait to see it decorated! I loved having big family reunions. Not enough of us left that live close enough to have them anymore 😢. Nice remembering when we couldn't all fit into the homestead and it was a big house. The windows would be fogged over from cooking and so many people in the house! 😊❤🎄

Oh my Kim. My sister has 9 children and last count 12 grandchildren. It’s a zoo as my Mom used to say. lol. My Dad passed away in 1995 and Mom began showing signs of Alzheimer’s in 2010. We haven’t gotten together on holidays since Mom went into the memory unit after the tornado in 2011. My sister and I are close and her three oldest girls call and text me all the time. My sister and brother in law just retired from their church last year due to some health issues. We talk on the phone quite a bit especially on birthdays and holidays but our days of getting together ended a while ago. ❤️ Grandma
@@grandpadossfarms Bless your heart, LeighAnn, I completely understand! I have two sisters left out of three and we don’t get together anymore either since my Mama passed away in 2008. My Daddy passed in 2004. It’s like Mama was what was keeping us together. We still all talk and text but I’m the only one who goes to see them they won’t travel to see each other or me, and we don’t live but maybe 20 miles from my baby sister and ten from my oldest sister. So yes I understand. Prayers for you!

Seeing Cole in his sweatsuit reminds me of my nephews when they were little. My mother owned a fabric store & taught sewing, tailoring & quilting classes. She made sweatsuits, shorts, pj's, & t-shirts for the boys. Always matching. They were so cute!

Judi my sister lives about 5 hours away. She and her husband just retired from preaching and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They have 9 children and last count 12 grandchildren. Holidays they fill a house with their family alone. lol. My Dad passed away in 1995 and my Mom started showing signs of Alzheimer’s in 2010. She went into a memory care unit in 2011. I went and picked her up and she came with us to the Doss family holiday traditions. She and Ralph’s Mom were friends. My Mom taught a Sunday School class that his Mom and his Aunt Betty were in. My sister and I talk on the phone a lot and her three oldest girls call me a lot. I hear from them on Birthdays and holidays but we don’t travel to each others homes much anymore. ❤️ Grandma

Aiden and Cole (and all) - THANKYOU so much for coming and helping Uncle Ralph and Aunt LeeAnn with the animals - I don't think they would have got it all done without you two boys!!! That was sooooo good of you to do that!
The big doggies get sooooo excited as you would see in other videos, I am pretty sure they would knock you over accidentally and sit on you wanting a pat and big belly rubs. Silly doggies.
They are also Guard Dogs and look after their Goats from anything that might come in to be nasty to them, and sometimes, I am sure Uncle Ralph explained it - just sometimes, they can think new people who go to touch their goats are not meant to be there. It might have made them bark very loudly at you and might have scared you. So best that they were in their pen.
And the Chickens - oh my gosh Aiden - well done for collecting that blue egg and feeding them wormies! Not many people are brave enough to dive their hand into a bucket of dead wormies like that (Uncle Matt didnt want to at first - I am sure there is a video about that!), but there you went - hand straight in - AWESOME job kiddo!!!
You know, I reckon you might have to bug mum and dad to take you back to Uncle Ralph and Aunt LeeAnns place to help with feeding every couple of months or more. Just depending on what everyone is doing etc. I think you would be a fantastic helper and Uncle Ralph would REALLY appreciate it I am sure!
Anyhow - Much love, Many HUGE hugs, and wonderful to meet all we havent met previously and briefly see those we have, be it on this Channel or Doss Farms, from Me and my critters (my horse, three completely nuts cats, and 5 fish who get a new home in a tank in my room on Monday) here in South Australia.

Love this family tradition. Too bad the tree farm isn't there anymore. Not quite the same going to Lowe's. No hot cocoa, bonfire, lots and lots of beautiful trees to pick from and people wandering through with their kids looking for the right one. Ah, well! That's the way things go now a days.

Yes Debra we knew already that Carter wasn’t going to be there. A day doesn’t go by that we don’t talk to our kids and know where our grandkids are. When we make plans to do something we know who’s going to be there and who’s not. We’ve got it covered. 😉 Grandma
