The Tecsun S-2000 has been discontinued last year. A new replacement will be announced in 2024 - the S2200. Appearance wise, the S-2200 looks exactly like the S-2000 but uses the 18650 lithium ion batteries in place of the D sized cells. It's still in the testing phase in China. I hope the S-2200 will have other new features than just the battery format change. 😊
Reminds you of early Eddystone radios (especially the "cabin" radios) with a basic domestic radio circuit in a posh frock. Not hot to trot for SSB and CW
What do you mean Adam? Is it perfect, no ... they tend to overload a bit with large outdoor antennas. So what's wrong with it? You can hear shortwave, it has filters, it does SSB perfectly and does NOT drift, the BFO is fun harking back to the way radios used to do it so it's retro. Can you copy bloody sideband with it? Yes. And it does it better on HF than a cheap RTL SDR USB dongle without the massive overloading and images. It will copy everything an 80s desktop shortwave receiver will and even do it better on 10 meters. So what's the problem again mate?
@@adam-g7crq Brilliant. And you will see there is nothing wrong or lacking with this radio for the price. In fact it's a fun radio. Have you ever had a radio that drifts? That's a pain in the arse. I've had this Grundig since 2014 and it's still stable and sensitive

One of my dream radio ... Its hard to find here...Ho about the price you have got sir
I agree! This is not worth the money. The cheaper Tecsun receivers pick up more than this.

I was using my main station antenna, when I get time I'll try it with some attenuation.

The FM section is very basic. Doesn't even have RDS
