Thank you for watching this video. I really enjoy this hobby and spend many hours sitting by my pond enjoying the beverages I review. I have had ponds or over 30 yrs. For more pond videos check out my playlist. ruclips.net/p/PLhaeKju4LAImpifrx-0oYBjOkLaTCOekN
The pond is looking Beautiful John.Nice addition of some Mint growing near by, we have a small plant of Mint on our deck. I enjoy seeing your Koi's You have some real Beauties, Thanks for showing us Buddy
Big beautiful koi there my friend. Well planned pond to keep koi to grow them and keep them healthy. One of my future plan is to start using rain water. It’s always nice to see examples of koi ponds that work.
Some people claim using rainwater is not optimal for one reason or another. I've been using it for over 30 years without any problems whatsoever. I know several other people who used it as well and everybody swears by it. I believe Rainwater is actually beneficial and better than anything else you can do.
Sounds like you've got a Bud frog, you need a wise and an err 🤣 (Budweiser advert from the UK 😉 ). Great pond, as you say if you get it balanced properly there is no real need to mess with it too much. Most people try to rush things and add too many fish or too many plants all in one go. Do it right and it looks after itself, great update as usual, s..r, cheers, Schnuz.
nice set up... do you use the mint to make tea? I think this would work even without the filter medium...you could throw some tilapia in there and have some emergency food on hand 😜 but, the Koi and goldfish are beautiful! I think it's awesome that you have a big ol' bullfrog!!! !!!I heard him!!!
I do use the mint for tea my friend. A lot of people do grow vegetables in the Bog and tilapia in the pond. But if things got bad enough and it was bad enough emergency I can always eat the fish.
I just put up my 30 gal pond and right away after a few days it turned green. Applied flocculant and Beneficial bacteria. Still getting greener. Just cleaned whole pond 2 days ago and applied bacteria, barley extract, flocculant but now its starting to get green again😢. I only have the summer and fall to enjoy watching my fishes before i bring them in for winter but i cant keep the water clear! Now thinking of using algaecide instead 😭

Use plants, they use the same nutrients the algae needs. It starves the algae.
How deep is your pond??
It ranges from 4' to 4.5'
